I’m not good with anything technical and the cars not worth spending money on but a day before it’s MOT I went to open the bonnet and nothing...I was gutted....father in law is a former mechanic and he got it open for me...not easy job...and he lent me a long screwdriver to open it..but I bought the part on EBay for 18 quid and I thought bollocks..you have a go and do it...,.so yesterday afternoon I followed your instructions to the letter and fucking hell..... I did it... given how shit I am with that kind of stuff I was properly chuffed hence my comment. The car might only last another 6 months but thanks for giving me that and for giving me that feeling like I’m not an utter twat. Much respect

@@stavhanna Arnold Clarke are one of the UKs biggest car dealerships. One of their mechanics removed the latch from underneath the car, you can get to the 10mm bolts on a ramp with the right tools. Every video I see people take the grill off even breaking it. Just thought I’d post the quote they gave to complete the job. Cheers

@@jjmmjj9999 I bought a Chinese part on Amazon for £20 and fitted for £20 = £40 She argued they had to “strip it” first, when I went to get it looked at the mechanic stripped it to see the issue, took 20 mins and it cost me nothing, he even filmed it and emailed me it. I said to her but you stripped it today for free? All he has to do is take two screws out and replace. SHOCKING. I hate the car industry from buying to fixing it’s a scam.

@@MrSmid888 yeah man, i've just purchased one for £11 and going to put my old (original) lock barrel in it, it'll work just as factory does even with my original key youre right, it's literally 2x 10mm bolts to remove the catch. It's a joke

Grill was removed before hand due to the lock being broken off soooo kinda had to take the grill of to access the lock because the bonnet wouldn’t open

You pull the grill out in that case. Lift or chop the buttons on the left and right and it just pulls out. The top plate will come with it.
