as long as it has been sitting, I would for sure pull all the liners and pistons to make sure none of the liner o rings are not rotted off or liners are badly pitted. I would also reman or exchange the air compressor, because last owners never seem to keep up on most of preventative maintenance. Great video as always, Bill

Actually looks good with the hood/cab/sleeper in black, with the contrasting red frame….would be a real looker with a fresh coat of each color. As far as the haters go, good on you for giving them a dose….

James, we fixed my friends grill by using a piece of square alumiumn tube and fit it into the grill, not perfect but it looks pretty good after he painted it to match.
Back when I worked for a garage collection owner and they washed there own trucks, he told us to always start at the bottom thats the only way he washed all his equipment.
I think some comments are worth ignoring. I personally wash my vehicles from the bottom up. Do not bother to worry about those comments James, as they are not ever going to help you wash anything. I would gladly.
The great thing about that truck being repainted black like that is that you don’t have to mess around trying to find a colour match, you’ll be able to exact some very good looking repairs on that and the marmon using just generic black paint , going to be two fabulous looking trucks for sure All the best Jay 🙏🏻🏴❤️🇺🇸
@@JamesPretty appreciate you right back mate , love watching your vids 👍 I bet some of those rustoleum turbo cans would be great for freshening up the paint on the straight black coloured trucks Wish to god we could buy them here tbh I watched one guy paint an entire Chevy c10 short bed with two of those cans. Awesome stuff. Think they do white , red and black in that range too so maybe you could paint frames and such with it too.
I always wash from bottom to top because the bottom will need the most amount of work in getting it clean so the bottom get a 1st wash the top get washed and then you can tell the bottom needs alot more scrubbing . Also looks like you need 1 of those wide bolt on ladder bases feetsy thingy would make you ladder safer .

I have been reading up on a product called Penetrol. It is effective for restoring the Black tones to sun faded plastic parts and lifting the shine on many painted surfaces. The plastic can then be treated with something like UV-303 for lasting UV protection. Looks to be a product that would be handy to have available. Also, use standard foaming aerosol tire foam to clean out the engine bay. Apply and keep wet by reapplication maybe over a one-hour period. Work it in with a brush. Use the Hotsy to finish the task. You could use some scaffolding around there. Safer than a ladder and more versatile for high up projects.
When I first started washing airplanes back in the mid- 70s we always washed from the bottom up because of the streaking that was caused by the aircraft soap that was so strong that it would leave streaks on the aluminum body of the airplane. And since a semi is also made of aluminum it would probably do the same thing

mr James Pretty, i just had an idea . if you drill 3 pipes at about 12" apart and make two a bit higher than the truck by about two foot, and the 3rd pipe a bit wider than the truck and put some type of hose fitting on one end and a platform for wheels on it you would have your own truck wash.?
That ride deserves some attention after Betty is road worthy. 11 is the tow rig for the fleet. Do a budget minded shop rebuild on a Cummins that you may have in stock. That setback motor will drive the ambition level down if you have to tear it down more than once.
You can start washing the truck from wherever you want people will always talk do whatever suits you better the important thing is that you get the result you want ok bro

Boy she cleaned up nicely. Can’t wait to see how things progress on it. I think in a few ways those old Fords were ahead of their time. But definitely not in the ease of servicing and repair department. They really stuffed those engines underneath the cabs and if I remember correctly they had to put them on an angle to get them in there. But she will make a sweet addition to your fleet. Stay safe

i was looking at the Aeromax (1988-1995) truck history and i think someone made a front bumper for the old girl is she mounted on a doubled frame because she sure does look strong.? 👈😒👺👀👀👍
You know when I wash my vehicles I start from the top down I wash the tires and rims last I also after I was them I dry them with the leaf blower and people always ask me why I do that and I tell them it keeps the water spots off
