A single screw from Giant Foods, then it was a bread truck. It pulled a bread trailer to the stores. Nice find, I would love to see it restored to a Giant Foods truck. The drivers of the year used to get their truck chromed out, back when the company was privately owned. Enjoy it. Want to sell it? lol
Built a toter home out of a 83 L 8000, 3208 turned up to 350hp, radiator/charge air cooler from 692 firetruck, 13 speed overdrive, 4.11 rear, fully equipped 16' lounge w/8 x 8 flat bed goose neck hitch, w/b 256". Pulled 44 x 11' high tri axle race support trailer no problem. Truck was good for 92 mph balls out, many times. Still miss that rig, it was pimped out pretty damn well.
@@fireman7415I have a couple models of the Louisville and want to make them something like this. Interesting it came with a Detroit since it's GM. I guess you could order it anyway you want unless it was a glider.
The company i worked for in the1970s & 80s had a number of those LN series but they either had 534 gas engines or 3208 Cats. Then they bought some CL 9000's which had the 6V-92 Detroits. Great trucks, good memories but the LNs were very hard steering.
@@jeffearnest3269 Yes they were. A couple of those trucks (we had about eight with the 3208) worked like 17-18 hours a day, first a peddle run on the road about 200-300 miles and then run local all day. Workhorses for sure. I still miss our unit #252. It never ever let me down.
That is a nice rig and good commentary. Looks like fun, reminds me of the department store delivery trucks my neighbor drove when I was a kid. Sweet sound and smell!
