Ford Mondeo mk1 Test Drive  

We had one of these a long time ago, it was second hand - had a 2.0 Zetec Engine with 160,000km on the clock, however it had a few problems when we first bought it. Despite a few problems, it was still truly an amazing car, even though it didn't receive a lot of love here in Australia because people here are mostly in favour of cars with V8s or V6s with 3 litres or more, at the time when the Mk1 Mondeo was released here in Australia. Both Mk1s and Mk2s here are a rare site here in Australia, but the Mk3s weren't sold. The Mk4 Mondeo was a comeback and that became a hot seller and a lot of people bought the Diesels. Mondeos are fantastic cars!

I have a mk2 1.8 verona in silver. Has 124,000 miles on the clock. It has the zetec-e engine and does an average of 37mpg. A friend of mine installed a ghia x wiring loom with cruise control and a trip computer and both work great. The mondeo is a great car. Easy to drive and easy to maintain. My friend has 3 mondeos a mk1 1.8 lx(1995) also a mk2 st200 v6 and a mk3 2.0 tddi.

The car I first learned to drive in when I was 17. Very nice handling, and I remember it having enough power to cruise fast.

Heard that sound at 0:11 many times in my dad’s old Mondeo - he would put his lighter in the cubby hole below the stereo and it made that exact noise!

This mk1 is more than 20year in our familly first dad ,then me,this car never stops and never leave us on road..fucking never.This car have a soul..Before few months ended up on car graveyard..miss my mondeo so much

This engine sounds a lot like the 1.8 petrol 115 hp which was available for the mk2

bought one second hand 3 years ago , good car , little trouble with it , 21 years old now , 266,000km ,1,8 turbo diesel hoping to have it another 3 years
