My Dad got one of the early Mondeos particular style, as a company car in September 2002. It was a dark blue 2.0 TDCi and he loved it. Had very little problems with it at all. The two previous diesels that he had were a Peugeot 405 GLD turbo (which remained in the family for another 9 years, after it's time under the company's ownership) was one of the best cars we ever had. The 2nd diesel was a Vauxhall Cavalier, which was horrendous in comparison to the Peugeot.
I had one .. with over 200K on the clock I think in the past had been taken around a racetrack as well. The DMF was buggered and in the end started to go into limp mode intermittently. I kept it going for 6 months with the failing DMF periodically cleaning the swarf from the starter motor xD. The thing appears to be on the road still. The money I have spent on different cars after ,, I would've rather have done mondog up. Brilliant cars. I am after another, estate one though. I wonder if the 115hp ones are a bit more forgiving on the flywheel and other components.. Probably not but im willing to get hold of one if it runs okay with no rattles or limpmode.
Hey! Nice video! I just came across your channel! I like what I see! Keep uploading! You have potential to grow! We small RU-vidrs should stick together! What do you think?
Great video, I just got myself one of these a ghia x on a 54 plate lovely car and just to let you know its not a PSA it is actually a ford engine the later 2.0tdci in the mk4 and 5 are a PSA engine.
It was A joint effort between ford and Peugeot see the text The inline-four engines are sold under the Duratorq TDCi name by Ford, and as the HDi by Citroën and Peugeot. These are part of the DLD family. Mazda also uses the DLD engine in the Mazda2 and the Mazda3, calling it the MZ-CD or CiTD. The Ford/PSA joint-venture for the production of the DLD was announced in September, 1998
@@AliMackMechanicalIn 2004, Ford introduced the Duratorq ZSD-422, a 2.2 L (2,198 cc) turbodiesel for top-of-the-range versions of the Mondeo and Jaguar X-Type which produced 155 PS (114 kW; 153 hp). This is unrelated to the PSA DW12 2.2 unit used in Peugeot and Citroën applications and this is the same for the 2.0 as well
