Gotta admit, that sounds so sweet. And the tech inside is very impressive. For many this is probably the only true ICE muscle car that you'd want, within the sub-A$100K range. Not for me though, I think if I was going after muscle, I'd go for the Hyundai Ioniq-5N. Sacrilege? ...maybe but I'm a techie geek and the 5N does it for me.
@therightcar regarding the steering wheel, there is a button on the steering wheel with a steering wheel symbol on it, you press this & you can adjust your steering in 3 different types.
Have one on order got built last week, serious keen to get it in my drive way. My wife has a new BRZ, I would agree its a wicked alternative also funny enough, I sold my modified abarth 124 (italian mx5) for my stang. My wife and myself hit all 3 of your recommendations.
Matt, the best thing is that, unlike the Audi RS6 you tested recently, you may even be able to afford the Ford. I'd take the Audi as well, sadly, money does matter...
The Mustang is a direct injection engine that explains the good fuel usage the Australian V8s were not direct injection engines so they surely would have used more fuel.
The 302ci version was direct injection, when Ford changed it to 304ci the engine gained MPEFI (Sequential) for low rpm (up to 3,000rpm) and direct injection (anything above 3,000rpm to redline), the current one got twin throttle body for better air floe through the plenum intake
@@PurplePandaGuy88 - Well the name is XR "8" 8 as in V8 so yes, it's got a Windsor 245kW / 475NM V8 with 5-speed manual and 3.27:1 final drive ratio. remember that is 2002 spec and the vehicle weight is 1,700kg with double wish bone IRS.
@@therightcar I did however on my end I have 2 V8 Falcon cars and that is enough for me, also Turbo wooosh in the mid range is where its at for me these day.
There's only ONE way any enthusiast could enjoy a car without breaking any speed limits, or drive like a hoon, and that is to drive a V8. You could drive like grandma and just enjoy the rumble. Even if it only has 200hp it's still enough to extract a smile accompanied by that warm and fuzzy feeling. This car does that, but then mimics the soundtrack of a friggin nascar when you put your boot in it. As far as im concerned there simply is no competition to this anywhere less than double the price. Prove me wrong. (Trucks and 4WDs not included). Any enthusiast will agree. Anyone just looking for a fancy a looking car or caring about economy, will disagree. Going back to that V8 soundtrack for a moment. The Coyote is the most volumetrically efficient production engine on the planet. Prove me wrong Mk2. It lays the foundation for 3000+hp, so please don't embarrass yourselves by talking about economy as it just shows how little you know about the intent of this engine.
Yes anybody and even you can buy Dark Horse right now , there are half a dozen on car sales right now.Because all the dealers where allocated to them first and the story they told everybody " ALL 1000 reported examples to Australia are sold " is absolute BS nonsense. ACCC need to investigate the car dealers over this because now they are being sold by these scalpers dealers, deliberately for more than the RRP this was always going to happen, it similar to what's happened with the Corvette , "yes its coming to Australia you can order it", but then you could not order it , then you could, then you had to over pay to buy it , wait ages , then they were available but priced gouged almost double the reported RRP by the one person bringing it in to Australia , who was able to get exclusive rights to it. This means he can charge what ever the demand is. Its all very deliberate to make punters over pay . Yes any body can buy a Dark horse in Australia right now in 2024 , if you want to over pay the car dealers that are pretending to be private sellers on Car Sales .
In 2023 I was looking to buy a Mach1. The $65k price tag was a bit too much for me. Instead I found a 2022 Camaro SS 1LE with Tremec trans and only 3100 miles. I no longer want Mustang of any trim level. If the S650 had a Tremec manual I could have considered it but I’m really happy with my Camaro. If you are in the market for a new Mustang, cross shop a preowned Camaro SS and see how they match up for you.
I reckon most people would. But the kia and hyundai suv's buyer is totally different, and practicality and useability rule the roost over a pure driving experience.
I like honest unapologetic cars like this. It is what it is, take it or loeave it, except that ecoboost engine, that needs to go, those things are terrible long term.
Looks better than the previous gen - would rather pay extra for an M2. I've had my time with V8s, I don't really give a crap about a V8 for the sake of a V8
