@@joshuapounds7646 - I agree, why choose the GT3 that is a track car with lots of aero and 267bhp less? - Feels like they didn't want a fair race. Even the lesser powerful Turbo S would have been far more fair but that car would have wiped the floor with the others over the 1/4.
Damn, a Porsche gt3 is insanely fast, but once that gt500 hooks it makes it look like it's not even moving. It just pulls like a freight train. Props to the gt500 driver. Dude knows how to launch.
@@MockingBrd. You completely missed my point. It takes more than just having HP to pull like that. You need the right tires and you also need to know how to modulate the throttle. I've seen lots of high hp cars that were slower than a V6 Camry because their owner couldn't drive and/or they couldn't get traction, because of insufficient tires or poor suspension setup. Thanks for making us all aware that an 800 HP car can pull...
@@MockingBrd. For someone named R888 you sure don't know anything about this stuff do you? I can show you plenty of videos of 500 hp cars beating 800 hp cars because it takes more than just mashing the gas to win a race. Some cars are like that, because the car does all the work for you like a Tesla model s plaid or a GTR. The gt500 has launch control, but you can find plenty of examples of it being used correctly (like here) and incorrectly.
@@f3nixfire Apples were compared to apples. As in both rwd. I didn't make a comparison between awd and rwd. So yes, more hp will automatically win from a roll. Not sure why its shocking to you.
@@Sasori.OfTheRedSand they are also 100k more expensive in my opinion the mustang shelby is the best fast beautiful great sound and not overpriced like the germans
Genuinely impressed by the Shelby’s performance. I assumed it’s weight would give the win to the Porsche. Great video. Always looking forward to these races
That Roush is no joke on a roll! Very impressed and very surprised! That Porsche did very well in drag race, which is not its primary mission.(it also has a 300hp deficit).
16 upvotes for a comment saying the $230k porsche has "400" HP and not to sleep on it, porsche fanboys have reached new heights! Or lows in this case..
In stock form them GT500s are impressive especially at top end. I haven't really seen them launch that well I know it's some type of delay, hard to find the sweet spot at which rpm to launch, but they get out of the mustard and play ketchup pretty fast.
I know it's a completely different car but I had a 16 gt and the launch control on it has almost a 1 second delay and I watched throttle house say the same thing about the gt 500... is that true on the 500's and roush?.... it was was for real on my 16 but I thought i just sucked at the launch control... lol
Which is crazy considering the hellcats and zl1 have 6.2 and the gt500 beats them with the smaller engine. the transmission also plays a massive part in its performance. Ford knocked it out the park with this kind of engineering.
@@mogulme6190 regardless it’s smaller liter v8. Ford doesn’t need a big liter engine to produce a lot of power. But hey if anything you just proved my point on the great engineering ford has👍
it's not more comfortable, he has the LUDICROUSLY priced(several thousand dollars) hard back track seats in the porsche, he doesn't move nearly as much because the seat grips his body and the suspension is very stiff (this porsche costs like 230k lol)
@@Ryan.C97998 I’m not saying that, I just sure hope I’m not banging my head on the ceiling at higher speeds in a car that’s purposely built for that LOL
I like a variety of cars and love the sounds of the GT500. Love the ability of the GT3 on road courses. However the GT3 should be a 911 turbo for this comparison.
Wow Sam, you've really come so far - truly a fantastic drag race with 3 amazing cars. Love the unique comparisons, who would cross shop the GT3 RS and GT500 :). Keep up the great work!!
I'd think anyone who is looking for a top tier sportcar/supercar, for the driving performance, rather than for collecting, or just a badge. They are quite comparable with each other.
@@chisquare5701 They have completely different driving dynamics and price point though, beyond the badge. Weight, vehicle dimensions, engine placement, engine size, transmissions, etc. Would you cross-shop a supercharged miata with the same horsepower as a Mustang GT?
@@VersanGetryx Would I? I did cross-shop a stock ND Miata vs 19' Mustang GT PP2 vs C7 Corvette vs SS Camaro. I went with and still have the Mustang GT PP2. I also already own an NB Miata. Not everything is about a price point, and magazine parameters like power-to-weight, etc. I wanted a driver's sportcar. They all have that in common.
@@chisquare5701 okay then, I stand corrected 🙂. Maybe I should change my statement to "many would not cross shop..."? I have a BMW M Coupe and C63 AMG myself!
All the talk about The last edition of Dodge SRT vehicles and the end of the Hemi. It seems that most have forgotten the beast GT500 is coming to an end. Hopefully Ford brings it back for at least one final year as an S650. I don't think Ford would ever built the GT500 in street form with over 1000 horsepower. Then again? The GT500 is an amazing overall performance Mustang that can be used on a dragstrip. Road course or used as a daily driver. I was blown away seeing the GT500 make up 3 to 4 car lengths driving around the Porsche GT3 RS.
It is cheaper byvalot, but fo sit in that gt500 and then the porsche and look at the quality of thr fit and finish of both cars and you will see the huge difference. Plus that porsche would run circles around that gt500 on a road course lap after lap.
@@zeuscasey I hope so.... because the GT3 couldn't do it at Chuckwalla Raceway. The GT500 matched its time and was even ahead for majority of the lap.
@@mrjim401 Explain to me how price is relevant to the straight line performance? A 992 GT3 RS is $240k and a 992 Turbo S is $230k, yet a Turbo S would put busses on the GT3. Its always the poors crying about price. It has no correlation with acceleration.
@@PapiAndrey oh we have a keyboard racer here who dont like poor people when himself is clearly a poor person 👏 what your little rat brain doesnt understand is that he's saying for a 200k+ car, even if its 6 cylinder it obviously gonna be fast... you retard saussage
I really do question the advertised power ratings of Roush supercharged mustangs. The GT500 performance seems to match the figures. That Porsche is great, and shows why traction and a great transmission are important maximize what power you do have.
GT500 has underrated power putting over 700rwhp on the dyno in multiple RU-vid videos which is over 800hp to the crank. The DCT is a game changer for the Shelby. DCTs have less power loss than torque converters.
Really just depends on the suspension mods and tires of the roush. The power is there on a roll, but the other factors play a big part l. Supercharged 10 speeds do low second 10 quatermiles all day long.
I had a 2014 Roush Stage 3 and the donor car was a Performance Pack version. Roush rated it at 575hp and it actually made 503hp on the dyno but driving it felt barely quicker than a stock Mustang. The Roush tune sucked! I took it to a known Mustang tuner, he installed a smaller pulley, cold air intake, boost a pump, his tune, and a MGW shifter. After all that the car was fantastic and put down 638hp. The shifter was incredible and completely changed how much more fun it was to drive but with the extra power it had no traction below 60mph.
Good races, great content and the porsche is impressive with so much less power. Roush not of power setup and delivery cause the dig race was not in its favor. Then the roll race ii had way more life to it! Just shocked a little bit thought it would closer in the dig! Anyway great cars and keep the videos coming!!!
I'm a ford mustang guy. I own 2. But n/a 3200 lbs Porsche with dct is better off the line than a pp1 gt500 and a roush. My 2021 gt auto is roush charged. Fbo suspension and gears. 709 rwhp 800 crank still don't think it's faster than a gt3rs
This answered my questions! I have a 2021 GT with a Roush Phase 2 so was great to see that it can hang with the big boys. Thought PFAFF only sold Beamers? See their dealership on the side of the highway all the time LOL
@@robertberes1251 I'm an American Muscle guy (mainly vettes and mustangs) but I can appreciate all makes and models, and to my eye, those GT3's are beautifully sculpted works of art. Love the rear fender bulge with low beltline in particular and i love those wheels too. Beautiful spoke design with great concavity. Overall though it's a very clean and tasteful look, while still having a nice amount of exotic muscularity. But, to each their own...
That’s a awesome vid to bad the Roush couldn’t get it figured out lol I have a 2020 stage 3 roush it does amazing even on a launch and pulls a stock gt500 pretty good 😊
Just started the video, want to start by saying I love your content and your personality! I’m a fan! That being said, I don’t care what car it is, if you’re driving it you aren’t going to win😂
Could've included tires used as they can make or break a race. The 3rs was running cup2s while both stangs were most likely on PS4S which are less grippy.
Some Roush owners gonna made you calling that a Roush. It’s a 5.0 with a Roush vent kit and a blower. Appearance wise Roush factory vehicles have a different decklid, different front fascia and different badging lol. Does that car even have the Roush suspension? Shouldn’t have launch issues if it’s a stage 3
