Owner of a GT Performance. That is about right for that temperature. Here on the east coast I was able to go from home to Boston near Logan Airport, a 196 mile drive, from 90% and had about 10 miles of range left. After the recent updates the range has improved: during my commute this week I drove 229 miles over 5 days and had 16% left on the battery at 2.8mi/kwh. Late last summer after I picked it up I went on a trip to Philadelphia then to D.C. then home and could have easily hit 250 miles or more miles. I will see what I get on a 600 mile round trip in about a month.

Yea seems about right. Went 215 miles today. 23 gtpe. Started at 100% ended at 15% (42 miles). Running 70ish, up and down mountains quite a bit. Was warm out though. 85ish. Pretty close to the 260 range given by ford

Two things to add to your 'kit'...A tire pump and an ACCURATE tire pressure gauge. Tire inflation pressures can make a HUGE difference, when you're dealing with extremely efficient vehicles, with a relatively low amount of stored energy, compared to similar combustion (engine) powered vehicles. Tire rolling resistance makes a much bigger difference in electric, and even Hybrid vehicles, than ones with the conventional 'engine and transmission'.

It would be interesting to see the trip info screen, where it shows the amount of battery used for driving, accessories, temp, etc. Is it possible that using BlueCruise would be more power-hungry than standard cruise control? If the CPU is working harder when having to do BlueCruise things, the higher power draw could affect efficiency. Can something like CarScanner show accessory power draw in real time?
@iMaxPatten
@iMaxPatten Год назад
Climate has marginal impact, compute and electronics? Hardly. Modern SoC's used in cars are pretty darn power-efficient, and even if they were like a full gaming PC (375W at load) they'd still be nothing compared to the output of motors and just doing the work of moving forward against air resistance with pneumatic tires. No idea how efficient Ford's software stack is but I doubt BlueCruise takes more than 20W to run.

Here is "the test" as to EVs that I recommend. Take three brand/models of EVs. Drive the same route at X speed to a DCFC. Note the efficiency of each one, charging rate, cost. Move to the next segment. Collect the data. Then report to the public. I have a feeling Tesla Model 3 or Y shall use less electrons per mile, charge faster and get to destination earlier than other models. "Testing" range to empty is with little value. Thanks.

New and nervous, but really have to lose the "uhhs". The car is pretty good but the GT honestly isn't the pick of the range due to...well, its range. The only real benefit is the big HP number and Magneride suspension, but the Premium or California Route 1 are better choices for road trip usage.

Need these range reviews to show actual miles driven and how much energy it takes to get it back to 100% to get a true miles per KWH. These vehicles need to factor the losses as it is a part of the consumption. I have a Ford E-transit and the miles per KWH displayed does not calculate to real consumption and real miles driven. I am afraid Ford is fudging the numbers a bit too look more efficient than it actually is.

@@rondavis2791 No clue where some people get their data about EVs from. Is it that they just regurgitate what they hear on anti EV media, is it that they have never driven one for at least a few days, is it just plain ignorance, or is it just trolls being trolls. There are many EVs under $40k, used batteries are hard to get because they are very valuable, batteries can last decades, and just like when air-conditioners were introduce and Central HVAC units, the grid will be able to grow to accommodate the new energy demand and the list goes on. Those are simple facts that any EV owner knows and that anyone can verify online. We humans sometimes don't do any research before making comments about things that we think we know about but obviously don't know anything about. Don't get me wrong, EVs are not practical for everyone but if you can charge at home, have a daily commute of less than 150 miles, have a reliable charging network in your country or areas traveled while taking long trips, owning an EV is definitely the best choice. As long as it can be afforded.

It’s getting right about it’s EPA certified highway mileage of 77 mpge. I agree that 2.4 kWh/mile seems a little low, but I’d guess that Blue Cruise is probably not the most efficient way to highway travel. I always get better mileage without cruise control. I drive as much as possible on AP, 130+ km/h / 82+ mph on the Autobahn, 19 degrees climate with heated seats and steering wheel. I've removed the aerocaps from my wheels, i don't like them. 2.3kWh/mile sounds extremly much, that is 812Wh/km or 81 kWh/100 km? Isn't it the other way around? 2.3 mi/kWh?
