I'm okay with an electric mustang. I'm not okay with naming a midsized SUV a mustang. A mustang is a muscle/pony car. I've seen plenty of the new Corvette driving around. No one has a problem with a mid engine Corvette. No one wants to buy a SUV mustang.

The extended range Mach E has over 300 miles of range in RWD trim. And Ford's predicted range is much closer to real world than Tesla's.

If you talk about range and name the Model Y more rangy than the Mach e, you forget about the Mach e X RWD - more range than the Model Y.

This channel would benefit from putting up actual numbers and mileage achieved, rather than just stating your experience with no numbers to bolster your opinion. I say this partly because I've seen other long range tests against the model y, where the Mach E actually got better range. It wasn't the GT, but the model Y wasn't the Performance either. Basically, it seems like you're going off of manufacturer stated numbers and maybe you're a Tesla owner. Basically, this was rather boring and lacks personality.

The back is awful. The roof it's neither leads to a regular hatchback or a coupe, and the 2 tone paint to cover that mess just looks tacky. I'm looking into buying an EV and this isn't even in my considering list, let alone my shortlist. This car is very confused.

I like more this front grill and bumper, they should offer as a sport appearance package for the other versions.

Nowadays, People only buy SUV's for Self Image more than their intended purpose. In fact, most SUV's these days can't drive off road without getting stuck in the dirt, and will likely never be used to tow a trailer, because it's all flash, and no substance.

Your last question really made me wonder if there is any sense in buying the fast version of an EV.. Only Tesla managed to answer that with the Plaid.. For everything else you are better off with the cheaper version..

1. Why do people put so much credence in 0-60mph? Time to distance (e.g. time to 60ft, 660ft, 1320ft) is what wins races. 2. Why doesn't anyone hoot about passing times? The time to get from 30 to 60 mph, this is really where EV's shine (along with launching). 3. The nose rising on launch is simple mechanics. The bottom of the tires put a huge forward force on the car, the center of gravity is above the acceleration force, so the nose rises.

Cyber Orange is not only for the Mach-E GT though, the new Ford Bronco also comes in Cyber Orange, but i guess you mean that other electric Mustangs do not have the Cyber Orange option.

OK obviously Ford messed up with this. The Mustang Mach E should have been an actual Mustang, not a completely different platform (crossover). Imagine an electric Mustang that is as fast or faster than a Tesla. Would have been a big hit, and really paved the way for EV. This thing should have been called the Ford Edge EV. Wouldn't be able to leach off the Mustang for slightly increased sales tho.

Lets ignore the shitty paint, bady panel fit and design of the model Y. Not to mention cost of repair due to lack of people who will/ can work on them

I don't know what Mach1 Mustang these guys get get in UK but here in California my new Mach 1 will easily do 0-60 in 4.2 seconds all day long. Why are they slower (4.8 secs) in UK?

you must be the only one getting 300 miles in a model Y. Pretty much everyone else is reporting 250-270 miles. And, as the AWD ER mustang has a real world range better than the model Y, as reported by everyone else, I guess the GT should have at worst the same range as the MY

I don't like performance crossovers. I don't like coupe crossovers either. And I only like regular crossovers if people use the space a good amount of time. But maybe this looks more like a coupe than it is due to how the roof is painted. This isn't a Mustang, it's an electric crossover. I believe in electric cars due to how they run and move and their smoothness. But we're way too carried away with all this nonsense of zero to 60 and "launching" cars. Who "launches" their car from a standstill in normal driving? I don't know about England, but in the USA the parking lots are full of people driving these things around as daily drivers and most people aren't using the performance. I rarely see a Tesla accelerating at any great speeds even entering the highway (I've been stuck behind many that don't know how to accelerate to highway speeds). So, yeah, there are some who go on and on about acceleration that own them, but these high performance crossovers are a flavor of the day thing that so many manufacturers are doing because so many people want crossovers and they want to be competitive. The amount of people using the performance is slim. And I'm thankful for that because the vehicles have way too much power for the driving skills of most people.

To put it another way, I don’t think this is the best Mustang from a driving experience perspective. However, in true fast Ford fashion, I think this is one of the most exciting EV’s on sale ( only completion in my opinion is the Kia EV6 GT). And of course, none technically match the Tesla, for charging (250kw/h) or performance or range, however the styling is a bit boring for my taste.

The Mach1 version you just spoke of with the 0-60 times is clearly the stick. The 10R80 is advertised as 3.9 or below.

I think electric cars are the shit for people who think they archive something if they are faster than the guy on the next lane on the lights. Personally I've never understood the appeal of that. I've got Enyaq 80 4x4 coming for wifes commuter (she's got 150km daily), and they are perfect for that. Comfy commute muchers. Personally I like my old RRC and motorcycle. Neither will impress the guy on the other lane, but the V8 rumble of the RRC makes me smile in the mornings, I can wrench on it and the Thruxton is a hoot when pushing in the curvy road.

The issue here is weight. As new generations come along battery tech will improve and electric cars will become lighter than gas counterparts. The real problem will be energy grid issues and what to do when a storm hits and power goes out.

So you're complaining the sporty version lacks the range of the non-sporty competing model? I'll take a Ford 100% of the time because I know the odds of the rear bumper being torn off after driving thru a puddle are FAR lower than that other car - the initial quality of that other brand is absolutely abysmal.

Its very minor, but it really annoys me when these journos crib about 'kms' & 'litres' & 'kgs'. These are called SI(Standard International) units for a reason. Nothing European about them, when the ENTIRE rest of the world speaks in SI units. Its pretty much only UK and US who stick to imperial units as they are called and confuse the s**t of the whole world. Get with the times and start speaking in SI units.
