ngl as a kid I enjoyed ford street racing and replaying it few months ago was literally the same experience it's so chill and so perfect for turning your brains off while listening to something in the background it doesn't demand your attention as some other games, it's just pick a car and go
ah yes my child hood , i had this weird bug where every game (including FR2) crashes within 15 to 20 minutes of launching it , needless to say i have become unintentionally a speed runner
I'm pretty sure you should be able to play the 2 car team races in Ford Street Racing just after starting the game. Not sure why you ran the 3 car one. The car swapping and the team abilities are also fun.
ackshully you forgot about Ford Racing 2001 and Mustang TLL isn't part of the "Ford Racing" series and you didn't even acknowledge the worthless Ford Racing plug & play game or the different versions of FR3 like GBA and DS and Full Blown for the arcade and and and andddd
6th gen of consoles has aged the worst amongst ALL Of them, so it's understandable that you can't really get into it. i started at the 4th gen and i can't either. (techinically i had an atari2600 before the master system but i was so young it doesn't count). old 2d games are charming. early 3d games are just awful and ugly (with very few exceptions, like doom and other raycasting fpses)
I know you meant 5th gen - but I really do agree. I love Super Mario Sunshine yet everyone keeps saying it aged badly compared to Super Mario 64, but whenever I play it I can't think of any area 64 aged better in. And regarding Gran Turismo - it's sad that there's plenty of interesting mods out for GT2 now but I just can't seem to get into it. It must be people who grew up with 5th gen that are playing it, or people who may just not have access to GT3/4 or later games.
