@@melvin5818 yes sir, we are absolutely robbed, get this Dodge Ram Laramie 1500, up to $116,000.00 USD. BASE MODEL Ram 1500 $62000 USD, plus they bring in a truck freshly built in the USA, and pull it apart and rebuild it to right hand drive, I’m not talking conversion , I’m talking full rebuild. Australia’s market is flooded with Asian pick ups and we want US pick ups, but US factories won’t tool up for the Australian market and our government applies luxury car tax on top.
They won't because they keep the f150 raptor in the USA and the ranger raptor over seas so they can sell both of them for $80k+. if they brought the ranger raptor to the United States it would decimate their F-150 raptor sales. Because most people that want an F-150 raptor aren't buying one for towing and they would rather have the Ford ranger raptor. Ford's already saod on multiple occasions that they won't bring the ranger raptor to the United States. Which is unfortunate because I would pay 45k for a Ford ranger raptor in America and I won't buy an F-150 raptor. I have an f150 fx4 with Max tow package I got for sub $30k.... No need for an f150 raptor. why would anybody buy an F-150 raptor for off-roading when they could have a Ford ranger raptor. That's why they're not bringing it to the USA.
@@creamcheese7845 too small for country or haul/ tow oriented work trucks but my current work truck in Canada is a Ram 1500.... I tow seldom, haul little and 99% of the time am by myself... I do need 4x4 and ground clearance so a truck is the ticket but am considering a 1/4 tonne for the next one....
Just sold my 2020 after 13 months. Great looking beast obviously. But they have odd glitches with the infotainment, auto is problematic on changes and they ar underpowered in my opinion. Don’t expect Ford dealers to fix the glitches, as they r well known and not acknowledged as an issue. Patrol was refined and these are not, just an overpriced Ranger POV pack
It's a good looking truck, but its so expensive for a Truck. They really jack up the price ,nothing special just a regular truck with special amenities.
Be awesome if only it came with a 200kw V6 diesel or a stomping V8. Looks great but the sedate looking VW Amarok V6 leaves it for dead. Make it go how it looks!!
But you need to make sense. Why would they put a V8 in this and then make it outperform their F150 Raptor which is higher up in their model hierarchy?? 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
@@MrVroom1 because it looks like it should be quicker than the competition eg. Mercedes X class V6 and VW Amarok V6. It has the suspension of a trophy truck it ought to go like one aswell
@@TheCardinal365 it's confirmed they're bring the v6 to this raptor for the US market.

They actually made this for Europe and Middle East where the engine displacement is important for the taxes, that's why they need to keep that engine small. For example in my country, which is Turkey, we pay yearly tax for our cars and this tax is directly determined by the engine displacement. If your engine is bigger than 2 lt your tax should be twice, even three times more...And I'm not talking about a small amount of money, that tax could be almost as much as the price of that car if it has smaller than 2 lt engine 😁
Of course they do. The Ranger, Raptor, Wildtrak and Everest all use the same chasis they're called pickup based SUV's. This is nothing new. Same thing with the Hilux/Fortuner and Montero/Strada
I have a 3.0 v6 td touareg. Weighs 2.8t and highway I can get it as low as 5 litres per 100km. 75 litre tank gets on city driving around 850 to 900kms. 200kw And over 650nm torque
I like it. I'm not even in the ute market and I'll consider getting this as my 4WD. They probably would be great buys in the used-car market in a few years time.
Wow, this truck is 80 grand here in QLD. That's...that's, a lot. So much on the market for that money. NOW. I will edit this, cause after a few beers this arvo I rang the local Ford dealer and of course they wanted my to basically give them my bank account details over the phone but a got a drive away price if 84 grand for this truck. Nuts.
@@MrJohnny863 Of course it's a BS price. I agree with you. But I got it over the phone. But that does not mean that it's a false price. You can look it up for yourself. Pacific Ford Caloundra. It is in stock. White. Drive away price of $80 990 on their website. I wanted floor mats and a quality tonneau cover. 84 grand he said. Now I suspect if I went there, haggled bargained and generally annoyed them - or got a broker to do my bidding … I am sure I would get it cheaper. 👍
lan Patrick i own one, ive owned many fast and powerful cars and 4wds let me just say its better than you think its just my opinion but it tows everything i have i wanna tell ford engineers how well they have done!! couldnt be more happier
What's wrong with a 4 cyl turbo? I've seen 4 cylinder turbo engines put out 530 hp, nothing to laugh at. If there's one thing Ford is good at it's four and six cylinder turbo engines. The F-150 EcoBoost with a 3.5 v6 twin turbo is one of the best motors they've ever made. 365hp and 410 ft/lb torque in a v6, stock..
Great looking beast, but it just doesn’t tick all the boxes. Amarok v6 drive train kills it. But lacks tech. Lot of cash for some wheels and pumped up,wheel arches..
Mike Suahtla .ive driven both rangers and Amaroks and they are nothing like each other, VW 20% more refined power is a no brainer for the mechanical spec. I’m sure raptor is ok off road, but I’ve never come across one on any trips.
@@mikesuahtla9826 Most people don't drive off road mate. The amarok, with a levelling kit, remap, and some decent wheels/tires combo massively outperforms the r-raptor. Most off roaders drive hiluxes and wildtraks anyway so the r-raptor is a moot decision. People buy them thinking they're like the full size in the states, when in reality it's a mess of a car with serious flaws.
I find it hysterical you drove it around a few streets in shitney, with a blown headlight, merged in front of a truck. had a car cut you off. then claim its a good city driver. like mate, every car is a good city driver when you know how to drive. we dont care about city driving, we want to see it thrashed offroad. but i digress. it has faults and that price is laughable, no wonder the hilux and navara are smashing the sales compared to this. ford are 6 years behind.
Lol When someone calls a ford ranger “Large”! American here, that things tiny compared to the majority of the trucks on our roads. I can see why you guys don’t have the F150 Raptor.
I think this should be part of tools in the shed this week. That's lots of money for a Thai built ute. Bit of a price gouge I reckon or is it justified?
I wish I liked Ford cars, but I can't. I fell out of love with them too long ago. This Ranger might be great but growing up in a ford family and having 20 years (1970's to 90's) with Ford cars that were just appalling crap... I broke away and moved on. Never going back. Good review though. 👍
You are better off with a Wildtrak, upgrading it with fenders and bigger wheels and tyres plus a Raptor grill and you are done. The Ranger Raptor is basically a normal ranger but with all those bell and whistles except with a pussy 2.0l diesel engine.
I love the raptor and would love to get one but a bit costly given it’s got the same engine as the other rangers. I think the HiLux or dmax is a little too small but a f150 or a ram is too large and the raptor seems like the perfect compromise, if it were a bit cheaper but I doubt they’ll drop the price.
Here in Europe I think it is just perfect. Wait until your (non EU) fuel prices raise to our levels. Then you will quickly realise that Ford has built a masterpiece for the European market. And here they also come standard with a roll cover, crossbars and tow hook. Couldn't wish for a better work/leisure package. And it is quiet in the cabin due to the active noise cancelation. Which switches tone when changed to Sports mode.
YEah m8, here in Portugal haven't seen any yet. With Diesel high price and 10liters/100km its a beast for us. There must be a Box as accessory. For the narrow streets we have here on history downtown are of Porto...that beast will get stuck but I'm so in love with this!
Here in Spain also 9 months delivery time. Ford South Africa has pumped up production to 2 shifts. But they also depend to their parts suppliers. I have visited quite a lot in Portugal and understand what you mean. But if small delivery trucks can bring supplies to the stores, the Raptor will be able to reach these places too.
They don't sell them here, but I'm moving to the Philippines in the next couple of weeks (they no longer sell new ones there, but old is fine) The roads in the Philippines are rough and full of holes, everybody complains. I think this will suit me there quite well. Just a side note, as a retired trucker, you made me cringe when you changed lanes into that trucks safety buffer area. Please be further along before pulling in front of trucks, we appreciate that gap for safety. Great review
Didn’t know this existed, for the cost u might buy a stock ranger and lift it , get some fender flares, grill and wheels. Prob save u some big money. Tail lights are ugly I’d want after market ones.
My Ford Everest Turbo “Broke” with only 58K on the clock. It seems there is a massive problem with the ford Turbos that no one is talking about! Sold it immediately after being repaired by ford and got a Hilux. Stay away as far as possible from ford. You have been warned.
Wish theyed send it to the states already. If they do i hope it has a different engine tho that things pitiful. That price is 20k more then the f150 raptor starts at here in the u.s😂 a fully loaded f150 is like $75k
You guys are totally reckless, driving a light commercial vehicle like that in a densely populated area, without first notifying the authorities and obtaining road closures, the use of a pilot and some spotters. This is perhaps the most terrifying video on all of RU-vid.
@@alexthetic lol the 2020 version is slightly different. The one in the video isn't a 2020 version. Ie: headlights are different, colour and extra USB point in 2020 version.
Still cant find a good honest review of the raptor off road with people clip of if flying around on roads like tell people how it goes off road in low gears
