Remember the LFA. Now it’s worth over quadruple its original cost. Hopefully ford makes money on these cars. I don’t think there’s any wrecked LFA out there but we know what mustang week is like leaving car shows.
As a gt500 owner, this new GTD looks incredible. It's basically everything they learned from the gt350 and gt500 and Ford gt implmented into one Mustang.
You are exactly the type of owner I would think Ford would want to have this amazing vehicle. You track your cars,AND post it all on your channel for a large audience of enthusiasts. Even though very few can afford one or get an allocation it will help sell other Mustangs.
Sponsorship is needed, if they put magnesium wheels on then why did they need the cup 2rs tires. If available them tires cost twice as much as the ones on the corvette.
@PeterSmith-oe4tn ... you just described an influencer ... while wearing a 😠 . Just my $0.02 Don't hate on other people's hustles man its not a good look .
The GTD looks light years better than any other mustang ever and the parts under the body actually look better than the body. That suspension is pure art.
Since I know that you’ll track it and share those track days with us I think it’d be an awesome car for you to get if it makes sense for you financially. I’m uninterested in the GTD as a street car due to the cost, but as a track car Ford plans to race I think it’s a great idea.
*The Mustang Chassis is STRONG, STIFF, and SOLID* *It's Capable of Handling Heavy, High Horsepower Engines without Twisting* *Test for Yourself. Put a Floor Jack near the Tire and Lift the Car from the Side. Then Note, Virtually ZERO Flex in the Chassis* *and that doesn't include Custom Bracing for Racing*
Seeing this now, this is beyond other car companies. all the billet, that cantilever rear suspension, the transaxle setup, this is worth the money IMO and I dont see why people would complain. Mustangs were always a relatively affordable car, but nothing said every one of them was. Hopefully it goes near 7m on the ring or even slightly under
1. Are you planning to try to get one? 2. The engineering, especially the rear sub and transaxle, make this better than so many exotics. I think this car will bring crazy money if they keep the production numbers down. 3. Good job, dude.
I remember in the early 2000's I was saying that Ford needed to take the Mustang to the next level never in my wildest dreams I would be looking at this🎉🎉🎉 can't wait to see what it can do on the track
@@richardmodglin3900 - More like 'James that', as Jim Foley, Ford CEO, has been behind this car 100%. He is a decent amateur racer himself and said he has envisioned this Mustang for 5 decades. He was quoted as saying he wanted to make a Mustang GT3 car that would make Porsche, Mercedes and Aston Martin sweat! He then challenged any CEO and their best production car to take a go at it with him in the GTD when it is done! This guy is a real car company CEO with competition in his veins! 🏆🏁
Hell yeah you should get the new mustang. Whats wrong with you even thinking like you weren't already putting that in motion on the sly. Come on now. Lol. For real...yes...you should track the crap out of it and compare it to all the other rides you track. This is why I watch you man...thank you for living the dream and sharing it with us.
Dct box looks like a tr-9080 c8 unit, idk if the ratios are the same or just change the transfer gear to tighten the ratios like z06 did... Well if its true, good choice by them
You should definitely aim to get the GTD. You will do what Ford wants people to do with this car. Hopefully they don't drop the ball like they did with your application for the Ford GT..
I hate to admit this, but this version of the Ford mustang I actually like a lot I’ve hated every single one of them, but this one is very good Giving the C8 a run for his money
Hey Bud! Long time sub and Boss 302 Laguna Seca owner here and you should 100% try for one of these!! I’ve driven my home track, Laguna Seca once and it was amazing. Hope to meet you out there sometime - hopefully to see your new GTD!!
@@AshyyygamingYTif it’s lighter that 3800lbs, it’ll destroy the Z07. Makes a ton more power, 50/50 weight distribution, the aero is nice, Sticky wide wheels and race suspension. On paper it should destroy the z07
@@brandonjacobo4965 A standard GT500 weighs 4100 lbs with the same engine. This car has a transaxle, carbon fiber components, and lighter suspension components. It would be interesting to see.
Absolutely epic! Love that car! Being a 2013shelbygt500 owner that gets drag raced and road course raced this is perfect! Go for it! Would be great to see it on your channel tracking with the other cars! Comparison!
Can anyone explain the physics … the active spoiler, is now fastened on TOP of the wing, as with many high end performance cars. What is the benefit being attached on top, as opposed to being fastened to the bottom…?
@@Loulovesspeed s550 is lighter to begin with, than the s650, plus the s650 is basically a Shelby chassis so adding carbon ceramic brakes, titanium exhaust, down force with a drs system, and carbon reduction, and dry sump would make an already track capable track car a epic track car for half the price of a GTD. It already had the 5.2 predator engine. I think it’s a amazing idea.
@@marcog6470- The GTDs weight hasn't been announced but I'll guarantee you it will be much lighter than the Shelby GT500 -(4,200 lbs.) by a couple thousand ! You need to read about the chassis and suspension as it is significantly different and much higher tech than the Shelby. You really owe it to yourself to research more on the GTD as many more changes have been made to it than you realize.
People saying it’s not obtainable by mustang enthusiast. Ford did it on purpose. You get selected first. And the selected ones have already been contacted before they announced it. Due to the limited production (which is also on purpose) you need to have a certain history with Ford for you to be able to get one. You don’t chose, they chose you. If I had the money I’d be pissed too but at the same time there’s certain prestige in the concept. So you limit the jackass like myself to get a hand on one of those I guess🤷🏻♂️
Multimatic should come up with a performance kit the way Manthey does for Porsche. Brakes, full suspension kinematics and dampers, lightweight magnesium wheels, aero, rear seat delete and clubsport type cage, and seats. Maybe Recaro Podium. Some carbon panels will be nice. One for the Dark Horse, another for the GT/Ecoboost. Ford did you read this?
I don't think the GTD is using that combination of materials. Ford and Multimatic never use the term carbotanium in describing their driveshaft - strictly carbon fiber. I'll need to do some more checking. Also, they don't specifically mention the trans axles as being carbon fiber.
He kept saying "you find this on the fastest most exotic super cars" like this was a normal mustang giving you these cool features, it's 300k it better have all the stuff the new lambos have.
$300,000 starting price, but Ford cheaps out no carbon fiber doors, carbon fiber everywhere else. If Ford is smart they will offer it as an option as I am sure they will have a few high priced options in addition to that stratospheric starting price.
Uhhhh, I wouldn't count on much in the way of options on this car. The only ones mentioned so far are the aero package which includes the rear functional spoiler, a carbon fiber undertray and hydraulic front spoiler. Wheel options are choice of CF or magnesium wheels. A couple of minor appearance options for the interior. P.S. Your comment that Ford "cheaps out" on no carbon fiber doors is a dumb statement. The reason had nothing to do with cost!
Definitely get it, understanding the process, you have a great chance of getting it since you actually use the vehicles and you’ve made a name on RU-vid.
