A foreigner tries Chick-fil-A for 1st time at the Marysville, Washington location. While there are now Chick-fil-A locations in Ontario, Canada, they are so far away, that it just made more sense to try it for the first time in the USA. I review and discuss the chicken sandwich, waffle fries and the shake.
Carolyn's RV Life will not be happy with me eating here, as this business represents conservative values. Oh well. LOL.

Would you believe I've never eaten at Chik-Fil-A. For A&W they get an A for their root beer and root beer floats, and it's been a while since I've eaten there, but it was OK and nothing special. Subway is our usual fast-food choice, but we haven't been eating out since Covid and the $20/hr. "revolution". We just eat from the grocery stores now, as they are expensive enough. Are you kidding? You didn't even rate the best thing you got! The Chik Fil A Sauce is the Best Condiment ever! A++ ... We rarely go to Chik Fil A, but the sauce we buy in bulk and it is always in the refrigerator!

The sauce seemed to me to be a hybrid of ranch and Arby's sauces. It wasn't bad but not what I was expecting. And a container of it exploded in my glove box of my car when it fell into a crack and I closed it. So now my car smells a little of Chick Fil A sauce. LOL

If you did not add chick Fil A sauce to that sandwich you missed the whole experience. I keep their sauce in my fridge for any chicken I buy. It is fantastic.

I wonder how it compares to the Chickenburger, Bedford, NS opened in 1940. Its current decor is 1950's style. It is reputed to have had the first drive through in Canada.

I like the grilled chicken nuggets. They're great without any sauce too. You should have got the lemonade shake. I also get the kale salad and fruit salad.

A & W used to be common in southern California but nearly every location here has closed. I miss their root beer floats. Never tried their chicken sandwich. I will add it to my list of foods to try when I visit Canada.

The last A&W in the USA I ate at was in Baker, California (off I-15 about half way from LA to Vegas). It was very underwhelming and a shocking departure from A&W Canada. It appears to still be open.

@@valeriefromoregon Don't you still have Burgerville? I really liked their burgers when I visited Portland in 2003. I recently tried Shake Shack in Austin after discovering that our two Steak 'n Shake locations had permanently closed (depriving me of my quarterly Frisco Melt fix) but three Shake Shacks had spontaneously materialized. Their burgers and fries are all right, but I like the shakes at DQ better. YMMV. Worth trying!

They originated here in Georgia. Well known for the fast and courteous service. I like the nuggets and the summer peach shake. And they are closed on Sundays.

Interesting. I stop there all the time, as they have Chipotle and Panda Express. The mall there seems to be slowly dying, but I guess that is happening to many malls.
