Because Eunice is really filipina, born and raised, educated in the Philippines. She's a filipina by heart, by culture and by deeds. Don't be misled that by blood alone, you can identify yourself as a citizen of a land. It's by birth, in being the country's inhabitant since birth, with cultural affiliation and traits as a native of the country, that makes Eunice a filipina as a whole. She is not a foreigner so she should not be included in the list as she is pure filipina.

I really love how they point out that yes, while the English language is important, it is equally important to continue teaching the Filipino language in schools. My cousin (who is Filipino and was born and raised in the Philippines) had a child in the Philippines and only sent her child to a school where they only taught English. So the child does NOT know Tagalog at all. That makes no sense! I am Filipino, born and raised in the States. My parents didn't teach me Tagalog and I am so resentful of that. Not knowing my parents' mother tongue is frustrating and sad. But seeing this video gives me hope.

"Ganern" is the gay lingo word for "ganun", if I'm not mistaken. Only the millenials usually use it. "Ganun" is often used with a question mark. "Ganun?" which means, "Really?". If not with a question mark, the meaning will become different. "Ganun!" means more or less, "That's it!". Get the meaning of the word, "Grabe!" It has countless meanings! Starting with awesome, etc. etc.! And the word, "Grabe!" is used a million times everyday in every conversation by every generation. Even by Lolos & Lolas.

Just because people from diferrent nationalities/ethnicities want to learn Filipino doesn't mean they promote it more than "real" Filipinos. How about our (millions of) migrants and OFWs who teaches the language, food and culture to their peers and employers? How about Filipino RU-vidrs (social media influencers) who works hard to create Filipino content? Lets not be too hard on ourselves. I speak in English not because I don't promote the Filipino language. I use it so that nonFilipino viewers can understand my message too.

I mean, not everyone is Tagalog. I feel like in some cases it's those people that think making _all_ Filipinos learn Tagalog is wrong since we all have our local languages and learning English is just so we can speak to each other and to foreigners. Of course, I, personally, am fine with learning Tagalog/Filipino, but I do believe it should only be mandatory in Luzon and optional in Visayas and Mindanao. It's like the issue in China where, should _every_ Chinese person learn Mandarin. There's lots of groups and languages in China like Cantonese, Fuzhounese, Hokkien, etc. Should they _have_ to learn Mandarin? Personally, no, especially since their writing is basically the same just read differently per language, but their Goverment would definitely disagree with me. They want China to be more unified but also more homogeneous (i.e. pare-parehas na Han Chinese na nagsasalita ng Mandarin at under kay Xi Jingping).
@roderickcarino3307
@roderickcarino3307 3 года назад

Yup, she sounds very Fil-Am who kept their language. It's so doable talaga to keep both languages at nakaklungkot kapag may mga Pilipino akong namemeet na nakalimutan na daw nilang mag-Tagalog or mag salita ng ibang Philippine languages. No excuse talaga. It's either they hate their heritage and try to forget about it or they're lying. I understand kung lumaki sa ibang bansa and no one taught them, pero kung lumipat sa ibang bansa and the parents still use it, there's no exuces to simply "forget" about it. I grew up in the US and all my friends are non-Filipinos, but my parents made sure that I only use Tagalog at home or with them and my siblings. That's how I kept my language. I just use it. Tapos you have Pinoys in the Philippines who think they're too cool to speak the local languages and only speak this weird conyo Taglish that doesn't even make sense in English. Hirap mag purong English, hirap din mag purong Tagalog. Kakahiya and cringe lol

Wow, ang gagaling nila mag-Filipino! Nakakapagpabagabag! 😂

Okay, all you lovely ladies in this video have pulled at my heartstrings. My eyes have welled up at hearing you all speak Tagalog so beautifully. As an American Filipino, born and raised in The US, I was lucky enough to be raised in a very traditional Filipino household. We removed our shoes before entering the house, ate all the delicious Filipino fare, and gave respect to our parents and elders. We just weren’t raised speaking Tagalog. My father was in the US Navy and my mother was a homemaker, but worked a full time job. They spoke fluent Tagalog to each other, as it was their mother language, but hardly ever spoke it to us, as children. I don’t think it was a conscience decision on their part, it just was, how it was. My siblings and I are very much in touch with our Filipino heritage, we just don’t speak the language. Now that my parents have both passed, it touches my heart to hear it spoken, and I’m trying to absorb as much of the language as I can. It’s almost music to my ears to hear. Kudos to all involved in this wonderful and poignant presentation. One question: With the exception of Maria born in Abu Dhabi and Eunice, who I believe was born and raised in the Philippines ,why do the rest of you speak English with a slight FIlipino accent? Did you learn English in the Philippines as well? It’s all beautifully spoken, and actually, I’m delighted to hear the accent , but Im fascinated to know! You should all be praised for being trilingual ( maybe some of you have even more languages in your repertoire) it’s such a wonderful gift. Thank you.You all bring the world so much closer together. ❤️
