You’re most definitely NOT SCREECHING INTO THE VOID! Your enthusiasm is catching and takes me back to my days of studying\designing\pattern cutting etc.Fashion&Design Major.I adore Alexander McQueen too!! ♥️🇨🇦
Kat, I love these types of videos you do. The longer format is better because you can go into more depth. Plus if they ban tiktok in the US, this will be then only place I can see your info. Thanks so much for making & posting!!!
I love your Forensic Sewing tiktoks and I am so excited for the longer video formats! Watching your tiktoks and your joy for sewing actually helped build my confidence to try making my own shirts- they aren't perfect but I had so much fun figuring it out. Thank you for these videos!
AMAZING!! Thank you so much for telling me that, I'm so glad I played a small role in getting you in front of a sewing machine! That's so exciting, and I'm so glad you had fun!
Fascinating to hear you break this down using your own experience and expertise. Love these longer videos which are easier to refer back to than instagram. I made a bootstrap fashion dress form a few months ago and remembered that you had made one and I really wanted to go back and look at your process, but couldn’t find it!
This was a fun watch--Id love to see more longer form forensic sewing videos! & Theo cameos too--he reminds me of my (sadly late) blue point meezer. So cuddly!
Hey Kat this is Lynn Ann Newman! This long form really “suits” the topic. You would have to do multiple TTs to convey this much info. This outfit is so interesting! I love the bugle bead muscles. BTW the tulle over the crystals was much easier to see on the other platform, for some reason. Great video. I look forward to more YT vids,
Hello hello!! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thank you so much for that feedback! I'm still very much finding my feet with YT video production so I've probably got to adjust my export settings or something - I will investigate, thank you!
Such a cool deep-dive, thank you! I’m also thinking the addition of the zippers might have something to do with the format of the concert - Queen B would have to change into and out of the suit fairly quickly, so I guess the zippers help with that in addition to giving back the range of movement the embroidery took from the power mesh?
This is such a good point! I have no idea how long she has for outfit changes but it's generally not a long time! The zips would certainly make that process a lot quicker!
Love this format! I’m not a RU-vid watcher so linking to these from Insta is an excellent idea! Happy to hop over here to listen and watch! I sure hope McQueen gets the memo!!! 😁
I would assume that you have to use black tulle over the chaton montees because thin black threads becon=me much more invisible at distance due to their lack of reflection. That's also why when you have stuff that's supposed to be suspended invisibly in the air like with magicians, in film etc. the threads are mostly black. I believe if you used white tulle, the bright sparkles from the stones would bounce off the white and it would at least blur the sparkling or even make the tulle visible in of itself? Also very much looking forward to more long form videos from you on here!
I'm a fan of this breakdown of high fashion sewing. I don't have the time or energy to make beautiful shiny clothes, but I can listen to others talk about them. ;)
I loved this video. I follow you on Instagram and followed link to here. I didn’t think I’d want to watch whole video but it was so good once I pressed play I watched whole thing.
So cool! Thanks so much for the video 😊 I would be so curious to see a price breakdown of this kind of thing and how much you think it would have cost to make (materials & labour, vs estimated value etc.)!
So excited you have a space for longer form content! Just curious, is there a resource you reference for different kinds of tulle fabrics? Does power mesh fall under the tulle category?
This is a great question! I don't have one single resource unfortunately - most of it is gathered information from a bunch of different sources- *but* I am potentially working on something that might turn into such a resource! Probably at least a few weeks away if the puzzle pieces come together, but stay tuned :)
Hi again! I've been working on this question, and there's a new video up now! Thank you SO much for the question!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-faLf2RXYSc0.html
This must have taken so long to create, any idea how many hours? Also wonder if you have any clue what kind of beads? As someone who used to work with beads for jewelry making, the highest standard glass beads are Miyuki for their quality and consistency consistency.
