For some reason, ping pong came very natural to me.For some reason, ping-pong came very natural to me, so I started playing it all the time. I played ping-pong even when I didn't have anyone to play ping-pong with.
I love how in forest's eyes he's just living his life as it goes but to everyone hearing his story's he's been through every major events of the 60-70's
A recurring theme in the movie is that Forrest was always very obedient based on how simple his mind was. When he was told to never take his eye off the ball, he made sure to keep his eyes on the ball. Much like how Jenny's commands to run made him such a great runner.
We, no, literally the opposite. Forest is a retard with sauvant gift. He takes everything quite literally. That's not to say that he doesn't have a huge heart or is any less of a person... which is the message of the film
@@radioactivedragonite2420 Both the word Prodigy and Genius can refer to the many forms of intelligence. "My child is a prodigy" "That guy is a genius!" Neither word actually defines/implies the type of intelligence in context, be it street smarts, book smarts, physical intelligence.... Genius by definition can mean creativity and/or intelligence, and prodigy by definition basically mean exceptional talent in an unspecified manner. The use of either genius or prodigy in this context is only a semantic difference, and either word is perfectly valid in this situation.
Forrest Gump had to have been written with Tom Hanks in mind. The movie was both simple and charming in its own way. I doubt that Forrest Gumps' character would have carried well with any other actor in the role. Tom Hanks earned his Oscar for this and no other reason.
+Kyle Boulton.........Bill Murray and Chevy Chase each turned down the role as well lol. Would have been a totally different film if either of them had signed on. Probably a more slapstick take on the character, which would have been very unfortunate
In 1969, Forrest joined the Army Special Services, where he entertained wounded military veterans with his Ping Pong skills. His exceptional skills earned him a place in the All-American Ping Pong team, with whom he traveled to China during the Ping Pong Diplomacy period of the early 1970s.
By mindless he means... Not thinking about results, representing nation, Many people watching etc... Just doing the thing and focusing on ping-pong... No second thought
@@branflakes12341it's an idiom to express someone who's naturally gifted at something. Ducks are naturally gifted swimmers, so being a "duck to/in water" means you're a natural.
Why does everyone miss the joke and reason why he’s good at ping pong. He got told never take your eye off the ball, Forrest being Forrest does exactly that. Brilliant writing
You have to be careful with that though - I was told that prior to playing in goal on the football (soccer) pitch. I developed quite a talent for saving the shots with my face..... I wasn't getting any prettier that's for sure! 😁
You know there is some universe in the multiverse where schools are teaching History and is probably the easiest class ever because the majority of answers are "Forrest Gump".
Recently, I saw this film again. It always brings tears to my eyes. One of the most poignant lines is: "I'm not a smart man, but I know what love is." That being said, I still don't know about love. Maybe, in my next life cycle, I'll understand. :)
Forest is the type of people listen to you, I mean really listen to you and keeps your words to his heart. He ran as Jenny told him to do so. He listened to all Sgt Drill commands. And he never ever let his eyes off the ball!
Forrest Gump is seriously talented in everything he does despite the fact that he was "dumb" and had a low IQ. this just shows that success isn't defined by how smart you are but how hard you worked for it
Some SJW said this movie was degrading to mentally handicapped people...what?!?! This is one of the best movies to portray a mentally handicapped man!! Forrest actually did a lot with his life and was very successful at many things! He was also very independent! This movie shown how handicapped people can do anything they put their mind to! never get people who bash this movie because of that reason....people get offended about anything these days...
I liked getting an idea of how Forrest Gump got to play ping pong! It was probably my 1st time playing ping pong today and I did pretty good (I probably won the game a couple times), even though, I don’t have much or any experience playing ping pong.
