Good Job shiftGang on that review. Just to add It's unfortunate kenya cannot import the original SG9s given the year they were produced in Japan but am sure maybe there is a way. I will also add that JDM sg9 engines are very hard to come buy here in the states they are a good swap into the 02-07 wrxs. I heard that The most iconic subaru car enthusiast group in Japan is the SG9 group meaning its not easy to find an sg9 for sale but they come up once in a while. Here are a few points I can add that makes the sg9 so iconic the engine has forged internals and it also comes with the STI 6speed tranny, it's basically an STI in a forester skin. I wonder why subaru never did another subaru that's not an impreza to have the performance of an STI. They maybe did something with the legacy somewhere but that legacy which was an S line was only sold in Japan. For those who appreciate and understand the greatest difference between the 5 speed and the STI 6 SPEED. The wrx 5speed can take max 350whp but the 6 speed can take way over that 500+ . Here in the states guys have clocked 700+ on this trannys. Yes! at those power outputs reliability is low even for the 6 speed but who needs to make 700whp always?lol! 😆🤣 you just just need to get off the dyno in one piece in my opinion after that you have a subaru that's a beast when needed. Hope this few points help someone. Honestly when the XT subaru forester came about subaru should have redone an sg9 kind of a forester in a newer true forester frame but they didn't and from the look of things they will not. It's sad that the true STI IMPREZA is done and the 2022 wrx left so much to be desired. It's sad to think a true subaru person will start looking at the likes of the Honda typeR, toyota GR or vw R.
The reviews on sg9 is so sweet. I have been looking for sg9 all through my life lalkini wapi? I just ended up buying hilux d/cab. When you passion for sg9 then sg5 becomes less enthusiastic
Just to add for my subaru enthusiast, the new 2023 wrx is a monster on its own 271hp and a GT version is available and here is a kicker they just launched a wrx wagon or station wagon for those who know what that is, the wagon has less power maybe 268hp but never the less a new wagon is back and folks this is not the levong it's a true wrx wagon. The new wrx is giving the stick 2020 STI a run for there money. Tuners have not even started turning this new wrxs. Thanks subaru anyway but it would have been nice to have a 400hp STI.
Very few vehicles today could match the Forester in terms of: 1) Adequate interior space and overall size of the car 2) Reliability 3) Proper AWD system 4) Proper horsepower 5) A vehicle that can be used as a daily driver/ family car or on a racetrack weekend or for road-trips And that's why the foresters were such hotcakes for both enthusiasts and people who wanted a vehicle that could be so many things in one package. Back when Subaru was a proper car company run by enthusiasts not MBA's and financiers.
Wale wa mataa kwa boot wajue, but there's nothing like a family car when it comes to foresters in general, they are just for boys to enjoy, no boot space and no legroom behind .Great for young men.
Latino is a true subaru enthusiast.....Kudos Wamwere, now give us the figures of pricing,0-100kph,Hp and the cars that directly competes in this category.
Love the fozzies, great content, lakin when you switch to Audi, you notice a big dif in power and comfort. Big up Latino, you used to make noise pale Tena estate na pops, you have matured and your ability to hustle is a motivation to many ....
@@jimmygitari4653 a.k.a Latino +254. How deep should i go in my pocket to get SG9 exactly like that one the way it is right now please.i will appreciate your feedback
I'm very impressed that subaru with their terrible engines can survive in the hot weather of Africa... never ever would i though or say to someone that Africa has subarus in the desert
Too bad I did not know about him when I was on the market for a subbie. Was looking for an N12 non sti but ended up with an sg9. Ended up getting a good deal financially but a slightly bad one car wise. Good thing the cost of repair did not add up to much
