Everytime I watch you making knives and swords I just know that, regardless the time I'm investing, I'll never reach that level of perfection. Stunning work!

I feel the same. Even removing stock is rough work it is still influencing the result having something individually, unsymmetrical made with its makers own hand.

Mr. Royer, I have been a hobby level knife maker for...a long time. And you Sir take it to a whole other level. I am admiring your exactness and your attention to detail, good job.
@fightforaglobalfirstamendm5617
Mr Royer could you please do a video where you discuss other blacksmiths who you learned from, respect and admire please? Perhaps you could break them down by price range, style and speciality please? We would all love to own one or more of your pieces but not all of us could afford your work, owning a great piece by someone you respect, admire and or have taught you something is the next best thing I’d say!

Do you ever have to deal with perfectionism when you work? I'm no smith, but I am an artist, and I frighten myself into immobility with the notion that everything I create must stand the test of time. I imagine it's a little easier with almost two decades of experience and a professional career under your belt, but what about when you were just starting off? Loving the vids by the way!

the argon has to be present the whole time for it to eliminate scale so when you heated it then introduced the argon it was oxidising al that time and when it was cooling slowly a bit of argon might have escaped and introduced oxygen into the system

Looks great...again :) Question : is there a reason to make the fuller/bloodgroove to extend beyond the guard? For blades that have such a groove and are actually used( i doubt your blades will see much use :) ) would it not be a spot that could accumulate dirt and difficult to clean?

If you figured out the controller, perhaps do a video tutorial on that?? Can't find my pamphlet after I moved. Talking to Brian Housework was using 5 KPA or whatever is on the gauge. Now just max it out from the start of the cycle, the argon literally last forever on the oven. Forging stainless steel guard the scale wiped off with my finger.

Word of caution: mills in a drill chuck can have significant runout, and aren't as secure. You're better off using a collet directly mounted into the quill.

Wow. Your skills defines your work and being as young as you are only suggest that with wisdom your talent for moving steal will rocket into history. That detail you did to make the gaurd fit is a perfect example of justifying the end cost for a finished product. I my friend would spend the $$ for your knives. For now please allow me to just enjoy watching you create these individual works of art. AND not kissing butts either, paying respect to when I see is due. A cheer if you wanna go there then. Lol.
