I love how down to earth and honest you are.. no bullshit.. just as mentioned in the comments, extremely underrated channel. I'm glad you guys found a house and i hope it gets well soon!
Thanks! I’d love to do another one, I think getting the hollow grind just a smidge thinner would really improve the quality of the shave. Though I’ve been told my technique was also very bad for the actual shaving!
@@BennettTheSmith oh I get it. I think that i will finally get back into my shop next weekend, at least on a consistent basis. Keep your head up. Great things are coming out of your shop.
Yep! I've got one or two other things in the pipe, including the prettiest damn knives I've made yet. I won't be back to weekly uploads, just yet, but I'm working on it!
I appreciate it. The pandemic stress may have been the push I needed to get my meds adjusted for the first time in ... 15 years? I feel more myself than I have in ages. Talk to your doctor, folks! XD
Thank you as always for the videos, hope you got settled in again and will try to support if things get better here. Appreciate your hard work in getting these videos out to us to enjoy. Stay safe and healthy
YEUP. My younger brother saved my bacon, helped out with 90% of the heavy stuff. I wanted this year to be the year of hiring movers, but not after what 2020 did to the olde bank account.
@@BennettTheSmith You are really lucky for a first timer, not cutting up your face. I hope you are better at it now. If not, remember to hold your razor 45-degree angle and go very lightly, let the weight of the razor do the cutting.
Like all good answers, it depends. Do you have space you can do it? Do you have money? Do you have any friends that do it? Etc etc Three routes: diy home shop, take classes, and find a friend/group. You’ll probably Mix and match some of each. For diy, search RU-vid for “getting started blacksmithing” or “blacksmith for under $100” I’ve seen a bunch of videos out there like that. If you’ve got money to burn, get out there and buy yourself an anvil and forge and get to it! Books and RU-vid videos will teach you a lot. Another way of you have no space or money, become friends with someone who does! Offer to help them out, sort of an informal apprenticeship, you know? Help them with their projects in return for learning from them. And classes! If you can find a smithing/metalworking class and can afford it, that’s incredibly helpful.
