Forgiveness Sunday - Dr. Hermina Nedelescu 

The Orthodox Christian Studies Center of Fordham University is pleased to present the 2024 season of our Lenten series "Orthodox Scholars Preach," featuring sermons by leading Orthodox Christian scholars.
The sermon for Forgiveness Sunday is given by Dr. Hermina Nedelescu. Dr. Nedelescu is a neuroscientist and a theologian in training. Her neuroscience research interests are concerned with the neurobiological control of abnormal behaviors and brain functions relevant to human psychopathology. Her theological research work aims at bridging the gap between science and theology with a focus on developing a theological anthropology rooted in the Orthodox tradition and connecting this to modern neuroscience.
Dr. Nedelescu is also an instructor for Stepping Higher Inc., a faith-based organization funded by The County of San Diego Behavioral Health Services, providing an ongoing training and certification program for clergy, pastors, and behavioral health providers to better minister to those suffering from mental disorders.
