Spent hundreds of hours in a Panther 325 series III, and Cougar II when I was younger. Made the Cougar II much more comfortable to drive, By putting a smaller steering wheel with a 3 inch inch dish on it
For as much of a lime type green that is looks like it supposed to. Prep work no matter wst the job as I work in engines all kills the tyme the project but that's the project. As for Lil 4 legged furry friend a real pal . Have a good 1 looking forward to future vids.
Some after burners for shooting flames from those two straight stacks and some green shag carpet for the cab, a cab kit and some funky led lights strips to trick it out and you will have a show tractor / parade beast ! 👍👍👍
You have dedication 👍 to tackle all the prep work and final painting of all your tractors 👍 You do great work! And as you said it's good enough for You! That's all that matters. Now you get to enjoy operating this great beast! Thanks for sharing your progress on this tractor.
De-greasing tip. Zep Purple De-greaser. Spend the money buy the 5gallon cube, and a 1-2 gallon garden sprayer. The only thing better is gasoline. I've restored a lot of machines. Zep Purple and a pressure washer gets it done. Paint match: Looked pretty close. Maybe a touch lighter, but that might be due to the grey primer. I think I'd take some personal liberty and paint the grill black. Regardless it all looks better than it did.
I’ll keep the zep in mind. The color match is pretty close. I held some Stieger pics up to it after it was painted and I think the color is better than I expected. Thanks for the info!
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 Maybe add the paint manufacture and the mix ratios to the description? I see lots of guys looking for that color, and giving them a urethane option is certainly a step up.
I totally restored a R model mack with my first construction boss right out of high school and i did all the sanding work and priming i know how much work you did to prep that its a ton ! It also gave me a new appreciation for trucks and equipment i see that someone has restored !!!
Pretty cool, the neighbors had a bear cat. I got to chisel plow with it one time about 23 years ago. It's now sitting in the weeds out back missing a engine and the tires are rotting off.
Amazing Amazing..... love your channel. I had a cougar lll and loved it but I'm a jd guy and went back to the darker green. Please keep the 📹 coming Studley.
Hi j.t . I didn't see you paint the roof. L.o.l I just putting out there. I use tinfoil to cover pipes and ram's. Just bit off tape on each end then just use tinfoil. .
That muthafucka looks great, I ran one like that in the late 70's the guy had her turned up, you had to keep an eye on the exhaust temp when really working her!!!
Seen a couple painted black with the rims painted green. Looked really slick. You are making the old girl shine up nice. Lots of years left in that old girl.
Thanks for sharing your adventures with these old tractors you do a nice job but make them still usable without worrying about scratching them like guys do with trailer queen resto's. I did my first ferguson t20 when I was in school back in the late 80's, and done quite a few fordson majors, JCB backhoes and other tractors up until about 10 years ago when I kinda lost interest in the paint work and getting them 100% right. I did paint a 3 ton truck dump trailer conversion I built last year and sold, it looked good for the actual time I spent. I've never done a 4wd like this, I bought a Belarus 1790 cheap to use to pull my Belarus 10t spreader. one of the original owners painted it blue/ light grey and silver wheels on top of the original colors. I like his colors for the tractor but to be honest it looks like he pressure washed it masked the windows, and put the paint on while it was still damp with the soap applicator on the washer! So now its got major runs, paint flake and rust patches . I think it would look real sharp cleaned down and painted properly as those tractors are getting harder to find now. Thinking's the best part in the plan so far, it'd take weeks to prep. Then after I'd done the tractor I'd have to do the spreader, to make that look good hooked on the tractor, but they are getting kinda rare in Canada to ,so I don't know maybe I should make more an effort to save these 2 pieces of farming history. Take care.
That would make for a good looking setup! I have not seen a Belarus 4x4 in 30 years around here. Had a dealer in the area then, but they stopped carrying that line. Just a few small ones rotting away in the weeds here and there. Would make for a cool project!
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 Thanks for the reply, My history with Belarus started as a family dealership back in the U.K in the early 90's and running them on our farm. Yeah they have kinda gone round here as well lots got shipped for export a few years ago to. i still fix the odd front wheel assist ones for guys, and we still have one of our demonstration tractors from our U.K dealership on the farm now. It's getting real hard to find parts for the 1790 as all that stuff came from the Ukraine, We have no dealers local for the smaller MTZ tractors anymore either, and my personal stocks running out to. Oh yeah that 1790/spreaders quite the rig, she'll pull that spreader fully loaded at 25 mile an hour across the field with 180hp using the 4 speed powershift transmission, and the front axle suspension levels the bumps right out. For it's age it was quite advanced for factory spec compared to an 8430 Deere, but of course it's country of origin and it's name stigma really hurt them for sales ,so dealers didn't stay around long.
Looks great. Hope you find a good home for it. I'll never understand why someone who's not a mechanic would buy a project like that then let it sit in the weeds.
