Least Original Supervillains of all time...I'm not sure what my choices would be, probably because I just haven't read enough comics to do so, but I'm curious to see what other people come up with. As for this guy...the fact I thought this was the Puzzler from Superman is telling enough, methinks. What is there to say about this dummy? He's a ripoff who remains forgotten for a very good reason, and the fact this is one of the few villains I didn't know before you spoke of them that I'm not even a tiny bit interested in looking up is equally telling. Some villains are born for greatness. Some are born to just suck. Some are frankly surprising in that they were born at all. And then there's this guy. This guy was born to be forgotten and ignored. Between the Riddler, the other Puzzler, and even the freaking Cluemaster, he never stood a chance. This is all.

The Puzzler by DC oddly is a villain with a special place in my heart, as one of the first Superman stories I ever read was one written for a children's coloring and activities book I had as a little kid. Possibly an unused story outline form the 1970s, it had the Puzzler team up with the Prankster for a wave of "Double-P" crimes (stealing a rare giant pink pearl, stealing original copies of books such as "Pride and Prejudice" and art by Pablo Picasso, and robbing the audience for "Pirates of Penzance", etc). The story portrayed the Puzzler as being possibly a Joker-esque villain for Superman, as he was an obsessed games player who wanted to become a winner at the "supreme game of crime". DC's recreated the Puzzler in the past twenty years, but now a villainess whose motif is that her body is formed of living ceramic jigsaw puzzle pieces. Okay...

Well, the origin isn't bad, anyway. I kind of like the 'came THIS close to respectability' aspect of it - like, if that bank guy had been a little less snooty and actually paid him - or even was just properly grateful - he might have become a brilliant locksmith, or something like that. Those 'came THIS close' scenarios are always engaging, at least to me, because one can't help but think of what might have been.

The thing with Nedor Comics is that even though their characters are owned by Warner Brothers, they have been used by Independent comics companies and artists for years and Warner has never made a copyright claim, so they are considered "orphans works ", although I guess the problems really will start if someone like Fox or Sony wants to make a movie or TV series with them.

The dc puzzler is actually pretty interesting more on that the character keeps getting reinvented Theres the orginal then there was the version on the 60s batman show that they used cause they couldn't get frank gorshin back as the riddler for the episode and reworked the riddler script into the puzzler. The orginal reappeared a couple more times Before disappearing. Then there was a female puzzler in the mid 00s who was a stalker of superman and had a suit that could separate her body into puzzle like pieces. Then during the new 52 there was a puzzler who was a member of argus and then it was revealed he was a descendant of vandal savage So yeah the dc version of the puzzler could make a for a interesting episode

Black Terror and, I assume, Puzzler too, is Public Domain, as he's been on several comics and DC's yet to sue the hell out of them. Don't know about The Puzzler, though. I think "great ability at solving puzzles" should probably lend itself to something else than Basically The Riddler but they only made one of these. And the costume just doesn't scream "puzzles". Maybe of it had the same color scheme but with jigsaw pieces...

Hello Rogues. I was wondering if one day you could cover the DC Villain The Puppeteer Jordan Weir first appeared as a villain to Green Lantern. His schtick was a "hyptno-ray" which allowed him to control most individuals that came under its sway. Jordan was defeated by Green Lantern, and except for an appearance working for Doctor Destiny plaguing the Justice League, he wasn't seen for several years until resurfacing as a hired gun for the villainous organization, the H.I.V.E. who hired him to eliminate the Titans. Though he was able to successfully able to control Wonder Girl, Starfire, Cyborg and Kid Flash simultaneously, the remaining Titans ( Robin, Raven and Beast Boy (then called Changeling)), were able to free their comrades and track down and imprison the Puppeteer. He may be responsible for the deaths of the family of Adrian Chase. The methods fit some of his past crimes (an exploding marionette), but whether he was responsible has not been confirmed. He was freed from jail by Wildebeest, along with the Disruptor, Gizmo and one of the Tridents (see Trident, it's complicated). Trident, Gizmo and Disruptor were recaptured. The fate of Weir is undetermined. I feel like there is so much entouched potential for a character like this. I even took it to myself to reinvent my own version of the character with him being turned into Green arrow villain in this version Name: Jordan Weir Alias: Puppeteer Enemy: Green Arrow Age: 35 Occupation: Supervillain/Puppeteer/Inventor -Origin- Jordan Weir was once the son of a Puppeteer. Jordan's father had always brought him home after school and had Jordan help assist him in creating new puppets for his shows. Jordan loved helping his father with his work to the point where he in his spare time started making his own puppets resembling the people who he loved including his deceased mother. Then one day Jordan and his father moved to Star City where Jordan's father was given the opportunity by a man named Lucius Barkley to preform the biggest show of his life and make it big. So then Jordan's father invited him to the show and Jordan could even go backstage. But on opening night, Jordan walked backstage to see his father and Lucius fighting over how the show isn't getting enough money and not Jordan's father couldn't pay back Lucius all of the money he used for the show. So then when the show started everything was going great until suddenly the theater caught on fire. Most of everyone escaped except for Jordan's Father. Lucius was then convicted for burning down the theater to get the insurance money from it and Lucius ended up going to prison. But young Jordan was left with no family left. He was then put up for adoption and was picked on by the other kids for his obsession with puppets to the point where they snuck into his room late at night and destoryed most of his puppets including the ones of his mother and father. Jordan was later adopted and put into a nice home. But still Jordan stayed locked up in his room most of the time continuing to make puppets like his father and then he started making puppets for all of the people that wronged him, to which he burned. This obsession carried on even to his adult life. He had grown up to become a inventor working for Queen Industries where he worked to develop a syrum for the military to which injected into a person could infect the body with hundreds of nanobytes that with a simple remote could be controlled, allowing the person with the remote to control the person's movement. Of course then Lucius ended up being released from prison, causing Jordan to think of Lucius as the very embodiment of everything wrong that happened in his life because of him being the one that took away the last thing he had that he loved. So of course being fuled by revenge, he took it upon himself to use his syrum to take control of the bullies from his old orphanage and Lucius himself to re-enact the night Jordan's life started to spiral, the night his father died using Lucius and his former bullies as the puppets for the "puppet show" with the intention of ending it by having his puppets burn. So it's up to Oliver Queen to search for Jordan and his captives and stop him before it's too late. Will the Emerald Archer stop the Puppeteer?

Totally different.... except for looking like Mysterio, having Mysterio's gadgets and generally doing Mysterio-esque things to the point that The Superior Spider-man, needing Mysterio for his Superior Six team but unable to find him, just used Mysterion instead.

@@mediabaron2416 Yeah because we need more versions of guys like the Ringer and the Tumbler. One just wasn't enough, And there are actually four versions of Mysterio. Quentin Beck, Daniel Berkhart, Francis Klum, and Mysterion. There was even a story in Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman where the first three Mysterios appear together.

I don't love rip-offs, man, I hate them... ;) Kinda fun to trash though, and look at these numbers - this video has already surpassed the Governor... funny world we live in.

@@mr.rogues4145 I guess when you put "Cheap Riddler Knock Off" on the thumbnail of the video, people just have to check it out.

Hmm, rip-offs.,. Well, I think Kobra Cult could work. Jack Kirby is a king of comics, but even he has his lazy moments, he made Kobra Cult as similar as possible to his other creation - HYDRA.

When I heard the name of this guy, I wasn't even thinking about the 66' version. I was instead thinking about the other Puzzler... Here, let me show you what I'm talkin' about: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bw5zV6VuVFk.html

All of Rob Liefelds characters are rip off's of each other. Bad Rock is the Thing. Deadpool is Deathstroke. And Die Hard is Captain America just to name a few.
