This is a great example of why, when asked who my favorite is of the three girls, my answer always is "The one who is singing lead on whatever song I am listening to". Jeff, if you do listen to the original I would love to hear your opinion. Just know that on the Trio version they don't alternate who sings lead.

I feel there are no weak links in this group, and each brings different things. Chase of course has the most vocal training and so tends to be better technically and with some technique. Makes a difference when it's your career. But I'm smitten with Sammie, the seemingly low-effort that she seems to need to make high harmonies cleanly, and the just-right amount of "color", southern/country accent. Maggie's solo work doesn't always stand out to me as colorful/stylish, but sounds great particularly when joined, whether melody or harm. Voices that have a lot of "personality" to them tend not to blend well, so I think that she is a perfect fit. Tim nor anyone else has said much about it, but I gather he has had little formal training, yet he seems to be great at knowing how/what to add at times like a music theory expert and brings them up another level of goodness. I do wish they could get more formal vocal training/coaching, but have day jobs and lives to live, and diminishing returns. Still room for improvement re emotion/feeling injected, but they did well with this one and seem to be improving since becoming a big deal on RU-vid & Patreon. Lots more expectant and loving fans. All of this adds up to really good things, IMO more enjoyable than commercially published stuff.

Actually Maggie has just as much vocal training. Voice lessons from a young age , 2 years major and 2 minor in commercial voice at Belmont. Chase graduated from a music and arts emphasis high school and 2 years comm. voice at Belmont. She probably learned as much from her mother and grandmother both being professional singers.

Jeff, going from one great, Lucy Thomas, to another great, Foxes & Fossils, can't go wrong with either one! I really like their version of "America", by Simon & Garfunkel; this would be a great reaction!

Just discoverd your channel tonight with this cove by Foxes and Fossils! I have been following them for about 5 years now and really enjoy their music. I noticed you have done reactions to HIndley Street some others that follow. I started folling a group out of Erie PA called First to Eleven who does covers of a lot od different genres of music. They usually take songs and put a twist on them to make them their own. Many are more rock songs but they also do acoustic covers. two you may be interested in are Valerie by Amy Winehouse and Someone Like You by Adele. There is also a live stream cover of Let It Be by the Beatles and a cover of Sweet Child of Mine by Guns n' Roses that has over 63 Million Views. You should check them out sometime.

So far we've heard sweet harmonizer Chase, Cass Chase, here she becomes Country Chase with a 'yodel" in her voice, with appearances by Harmonizer Chase and Belter Chase.Theres also Jazzy Chase, Big Band Chase, Bluesy Chase, Seniorita Chase, Rocker Chase and one we havent heard yet, Opera Chase. (Her grandmother was a Broadway and Opera singer.)

For years,I have watched F&F, and from the beginning I thought of Sammie as that cute young girl singing with Dad’s group, even though Maggie is only a year or two older. Though I really loved Maggie’s singing, a really always really loved Sammie’s great high harmonies. Then about 4 yrs ago, I think it was Harvest Moon, I finally saw what a beautiful Woman she had grown into.

Maggie sings lead on Harvest Moon while Sammie sings lead on Neon Moon. While I have always loved Maggies voice I have come to realize that Sammie's harmonies seem to be what brings it to life. I especially love her harmony on Landslide. On this one though, the way Chase closes out her verse is out of this world!

I have thought that as well. Maggie sings lead on several Linda Ronstadt songs and I think really does them justice. Don't get me wrong though, Linda was one of the most versatile female vocalists and had (and may still have as far as I know) a fabulous voice and seemingly could do just about anything.

Sadly Linda has been unable to sing at all since 2011. Progressive supranuclear palsy.(symptoms similar to Parkinson's.)
