Because - much like "African American" that's a racist term focusing only on skin color. Since probably 95% of blacks born in the USA have NOTHING to do with Africa besides the color of their skin it's an outdated and racist term. Same goes for those same people yelling about "slavery". There isn't a black person alive in the USA today that was ever a slave (in the USA !) - nor their parents or grand parents. For racism to stop EVERYONE (but especially those using "African American") has to stop focusing on skin color and start looking at their fellow citizens and what they do. If a person sells drugs and shoot others for "their street corner" - that's a bad person no matter the skin color. If they're helping the elderly with their shopping or taking out their trash they're probably a useful/good person. Stop the color-dividing bullshit, stop referring to others by the color of skin and start looking at how they contribute (or tear down !) society. The ones saying "African American" have generally no fucking clue where in Africa their ancestors came from (not to mention their paternal and maternal ancestors can come from widely different places in Africa) nor can they speak any African language (of which there are many). He was protecting the community! He may have had his opinions about how the drugs came into the community! But he had to enforce the law ;that is to protect the black and other people who wanted to live as law abiding citizens! Unfortunately there were black people who wanted the easy work and money.They became agents of the illicit drug trade to collect,distribute and collect the money that accrued from this activity! They would then become involved in the killing of other blacks who attempted to move into 'their' territories to conduct the drug trade! I still see my friend sitting at her husbands funeral being handed a folded flag. We were 25. He was one of the good guys. On his rounds, he made a personal stop to check on a young man he was helping find a job. This was a young man trying to help another young man. He didn’t have to stop or care, but he did. He wanted to befriend and help him. It was before noon, the man opened his front door and answered with gunfire a few feet away. Jeff only shot twice. The man straddling, standing over his head and unloaded another gun. Our city had never lost an officer OR lost a civilian.
I think that some people when they became a police officer they suddenly change, they became somebody they are not. They more aggressive and felt like they are on top above everyone because of the patch they carried. So they would make careless decisions without hesitation, thinking that they are cop and it would be okay.
