Rosalynn Carter, wife of former President Jimmy Carter, has died at the age of 96. CNN's Jessica Dean, Jake Tapper and Wolf Blitzer look back at her life. #CNN #news
She was a strong Southern Christian woman who stood for what she believed and a true power behind Jimmy Carter's presidency who earned the respect and admiration of those around them. RIP Rosalynn
The Carters appear to be real examples of good Christians unlike what we see on the other side. They actually used power and influence to help people and they also made real change.
@@jeffhampton2767 when I came to US, I was told Jimmy Carter was not a good president. Later on I found out I was brainwashed. Jimmy Carter is the greatest president since Franklin D. Roosevelt. Spend more time to dig American history.
@@jeffhampton2767 unfortunately people like you are a part of the problem not the solution. Rudeness during a time of someone's sorrow. and Jimmy Carter has done more for the American than any other former and present president.
Most people don't seem to realize how incredibly intelligent she was - and how much she and President Carter were intellectual equals. That's saying something because he is also a brilliant man. But more than that - they were/are both such kind, loving, gentle, and also passionate people in regards to reducing poverty, increasing affordable housing and other important advocacy. A life truly well-lived. Brava, Rosalynn! God speed.
@@Xane_Dragon Though we know of presidents who have had affairs. And, of course, President Grab 'Um By The P***y cheated on Melania months after she gave birth...with Stormy Daniels.
Jimmy met her when she was 15 minutes old. His mother delivered Rosalynn. That's a long time to love each other. I bet he won't be long behind. Rest in peace, Mrs. Carter.
When my beautiful grandmother died, my grandfather went just under a year later. It’s devastating to a family. I have so much respect for the Carters and so I send my love to them.
Rest in peace First Lady Rosalyn Carter. Thank you for being a wonderful humanitarian. Sending my thoughts and prayers to President Carter at this time of grief.
I was a child during the Carter administration. I did not come to the US until my uni years and yet I believe my education gave me a clearer understanding of the era. I volunteered for *Habitat for Humanity* and in the years since attribute that early start to my dedication to philanthropy. President and Mrs Carter were the epitome of altruism and have lived wonderful lives. The world is blessed when people like the Carters walk amongst us.
One of the greatest First Ladies has been taken away from us. Nothing else needs to be said. Jimmy must be heart broken, and so is the entire country. RIP Rosalynn 🕊️🕊️❤️❤️
I sense youre right. I n my Beloved Mrs,age 90 n 87. Married 65 yrs so far. But I just know if she passes 1st? Ill follow swiftly after.. Jimmy n Rosslyn a LOVE STORY FOR ALL THE AGES.
RIP Mrs Carter. You carried the office of First Lady with dignity and supported President. After through a difficult presidency. You have never faltered from doing good works and will always be remembered for your grace and dignity. RIP
What a wonderful woman, wife, mother and First Lady. My heart goes out to her family, especially President Carter, I can't even imagine. Wishing them all peace.
This is so sad. Unfortunately, Jimmy will go shortly after this. They had a love we don't see much these days! He would want to be with her 😢 I never realized how involved she was with mental health. God bless her for all of us who needed this type of an advocate!!
So sad to hear this, may she rest in peace. Rosalynn Carter was an incredible woman, I have the highest respect for her and Jimmy Carter for what they’ve done for human rights and humanitarian causes around the world. God bless her and her family. Mrs Carter, thank you for everything, and rest in peace.
@@mcsnyder1Since she entered hospice a couple of days ago, I've been fantasizing that they would leave this earth together, holding hands as they did in life. 😪
Admirable. Graceful. Giving and supportive. RIP. Its a sad day. My heart goes out to those who love her. To Jimmy Carter, who lost the love of his life, so close the the end of his own journey.
Our nation should honor people of decency, service, and integrity like Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter rather than people that are in politics to serve themselves. Rosalyn Carter was a truly remarkable woman who dedicated her life along with her husband to serving others. She was a wonderful first lady, wife, and mother, and her dedication to public service has been a constant thread throughout her adult life. She was a blessing to her family and our nation and will be greatly missed. I extend my deepest sympathy and condolences to President Carter and the Carter family for their loss. May she rest in eternal peace.
Rest in Peace Mrs. Carter. I had the pleasure and honour to meet her here when she and Jimmy came to take part in the Jimmy Carter Work Project for Habitat for Humanity. It was the first one held here in Canada. She was so gracious and approachable. Such a beautiful lady.
A great story & time well spent for a lifetime. I'd hope others would consider their own legacy & what can be done to improve people's live while serving the public.
Rosalynn Carter is one of the best First Lady after Mrs Eleanor Roosevelt. Our condolences to President Carter and family. A great loss for the United States. Dedicated Humanitarian.
RIP Mrs. Carter. You made a difference in this world, and will be remembered for being a wonderful person and first lady. My condolences to President Carter and family.
Incredibly sad for such a wonderful individual who was part of quiet and devoted political couple that I feel was but a small stepping stone to the REAL work they both accomplished later in life.. May she rest in peace and know that the world is a better place because of the hard selfless work she put forth for the world! She WILL be missed😢.
When she was advocating for mental health, the state institutions were deinstitutionalizing thousands of patients who ultimately were released into society with little support resulting in a large increase of homeless. They both were dedicated civil servants and true patriots! ❤️🇺🇸
RIP Rosalyn Carter! You were a woman of integrity, faith and family. You served this country well. Even though I was a young child during Mr Carters presidency I still remember watching u and then President Jimmy Carter on tv alot. I remember the 70s quite well and all of its turmoil. You will never be forgotten as a champion for women's rights and for the plight of people suffering from mental illness. God Bless u and Jimmy Carter. What a love story. Be well in heaven.❤😪
What a wonderful First Lady. She is an example for other First Ladies. She and her husband were definitely ahead of their time. May she RIP and condolences to her family.
R I P Ms Rosalyn , best service both of you did for this country.. wonderful woman , god bless you. 🙏🙏🙏. Supporting husband President Carter in humanitarian foundation.. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
A president and first lady that were truly kind, graceful and who embodied the teachings of the gospel. Rest in peace ma'am, my condolences to the Carter family.
She, alike her husband, was an inspiration to all, including all Guyanese. Through the Carter Centre, democracy was restored in Guyana. May she rest in the bosom of the Lord.
From the other side of the World, New Zealand, I send loving thoughts on your very sad loss. What a beautiful, strong and very giving, woman. A very special lady indeed. R.I.P.
This couple has to be the best president material ever cut from the cloth. No one will ever surpass these two human beings for the honesty and sincerity ever. Rest in peace my champion for humanity. God bless you too. vf
