President Biden and former President Donald Trump are preparing to face off in the first 2024 presidential debate on Thursday. Philippe Reines, former senior adviser to Hillary Clinton, joins CBS News to discuss what it takes to get a candidate ready.

Honestly, the smugness and condescension the left has towards the average person makes me want to vote for Trump all the more. I wasn’t a supporter this time around, but at this point, I will gladly vote for him. Tired of every media outlet, journalist, actor, musician, comedian telling me how to think, and thinking less of me for not agreeing with their views.

Well, if you’re a particular party, you rehearse the questions and answers for a week with the network putting on the debate. Then you have someone on your side moderate and not let the opponent give complete answers. Then, when it’s all done , you selectively edit answers out of context to make the opponent look a certain way. Simple standard procedure.

What's it take to get ready for a debate? First get a bootleg copy of the debate questions from your ratline homies at ABC. Run the questions by your 'focus group' consultants overnight. Spend two hours in the Green Room coaching and role-playing with your candidate. That's what Hillary did. Trump ad-libbed it, and smoked her. Gone in 60 seconds.😂😂😂
