One of my philosophies in life: I don't ask you where you spend your money on, don't ask me where I spend mine. Growing up extremely poor in the middle of nowhere, my first bag that I took with me to school is literally a yellow plastic shopping bag and as a 5 year old first grader, it didn't matter. Years later, I've finished college and now works as an engineer in tech in the Bay Area and I can afford the bags inside those orange boxes, and I have a few of them, but at the same time I also have a few fake ones and I tell you what, that yellow plastic bag and these in orange boxes serves the same purpose, as my husband says, excuse my French "To carry sh*t around." 😂
I still love my LV reverse monogram HIDUPZ clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.

My *topluxs* tote has been in use for years and it still looks as good as when I first bought it. The quality is simply unmatched. In the near future, I plan to buy another color and style to match my clothes and shoes.

I’ve had people come up to me and ask if my bag is real and it makes me cringe every time. It’s always been out of curiosity though (I tend to wear furs) but when I say yes I feel super judged for how much I’ve spent. So you’re dam*ed if you do or if you don’t. People will judge either way. Personally I don’t care if it’s real or not for example if I knew where to get one of those side trunks with dots on it as a replica I would absolutely buy it. Sometimes you don’t want to spend thousands on something so playful or something controversial. Or what if your four-year-old wants a expensive bag? What’s smarter giving them a real one or buying a replica? I can think of countless reasons why someone wouldn’t want to buy the real thing and all are legitimate in my eyes.

HOW you carry YOURSELF is what matters - not WHAT you carry … whether it’s a $200 bag or a $2,000 bag. Your choices are congruent with your values and I think that shines. I was infatuated with the Stephen Sprouse Roses Neverfull but couldn’t get my hands on it. I got a mirror replica and vowed to get the authentic version some day. Well, I LOVED my replica to death and I wore it worry-free everywhere around the globe and received hundreds of compliments on it!! I even wore it into an LV store once (not to showcase but simply because I forgot that I was even carrying a replica). So 7+ years later, I finally found my perfect, authentic Roses NeverFull in mint condition at a price I could swallow. Well, guess what … the authentic bag sits in pristine condition on the closet shelf under its dust bag …while I continue to carry my replica to avoid the hassle and fear of staining my perfect vachetta leather straps or scratching my roses 🙄 I learned a price tag doesn’t determine value. It’s what it’s worth to you. Ultimately, having something that both made me happy to look at AND was usable was worth far more than having a collectible piece that I feel I can’t afford to ruin.

I AGREE 100%, I have owned my Rolex for 20 years, I recently went to a dealer in Vegas and one in my neighborhood to look into purchasing a new Rolex, Just wanted to change things up a bit and maybe get a watch with a bit more gravitas. What was I thinking,? both dealers were nice enough but they both made it perfectly clear that they had no watches available for sale, and that the watch I wanted had a very long waiting list (not sure how they justified the four sales people). It's sad that these brands prey on the people who look to owning these products as a measure of their self worth? Maybe they should look to making high quality products instead of making their logos bigger and their products cheaper.

Speaking of judging others regardless, a thing I keep seeing online is “such and such is so overdone that I always assume it’s fake.” Like that’s supposed to make them sound sophisticated lol assuming someone’s very real item is fake is just as “foolish” as being convinced that a fake is real. all that shows is they are biased rather than accurate, not a quality to gloat about.

I'm sure this is not applicable to all producers of replica/counterfeit bags, but some manufacturers have used child labor and and used their business fund other illegal things. Dana Thomas wrote about it in a her book saying “I remember walking into an assembly plant in Thailand a couple of years ago and seeing six or seven little children, all under ten years old, sitting on the floor assembling counterfeit leather handbags" "The owners had broken the children’s legs and tied the lower leg to the thigh so the bones wouldn’t mend. They did it because the children said they wanted to go outside and play.” Reading this broke my heart as a mom and pediatrician. These children were the real victims. I wouldn't care about hurting a huge conglomerate like LVMH either. I personally wouldn't buy replicas for my own reasons. After reading that excerpt, I would also be afraid of inadvertently supporting something that awful. Just feel like people may not know what they may be supporting when buying replica bags.
On the topic of judgement: I watch a food channel on RU-vid. The channel has nothing to do with fashion. The person on that channel doesn’t even look like he cares about luxury but one day he gave commentary on someone he saw in public who was wearing a Louis Vuitton face mask. His comment was that “ that person looks like she cannot afford a Louis Vuitton mask” he continued to say “why would anyone spend that kind of money on a mask”. My jaw was wide open because not only did he judge the mask wearer based on her appearance, he judged her for spending her own money on what she wanted. There is no way this guy could possibly know whether the mask was real or not but went ahead and judged her anyway. She probably spend all her coins to get that mask, like we all do everyday in the Vuitton store but a stranger was judging her two ways!!!
That’s so crazy because for one, the mask was probably fake, but to openly judge someone like that with such entitlement …that’s just rude. Stay in your own lane!

Please note, the Neverful was not that original of a design. It was just an alteration of the Delightful, which it ended up replacing. I just found out that in order to get the vachetta on my Delightful replaced at LV, it will cost over $1000 (and it's just the one handle and some skinny piping-- but that's half the price of the bag!). So what do I do? Buy preloved or by a replica?? I don't think paying a grand for the repair or more for preloved is worth it. What do you think?
I just had the leather replaced on my delightful! The pricing really is crazy but all designer prices are crazy. I found it worth the investment because it was my first lv bag. Plus I felt like if I didn’t fix it, then I’d just be throwing away the original $1200 I spent on it 11 years ago. I think it’s really a preference thing

It’s funny how the ones who buys fake items and pretends to not care about these luxury goods are the ones who talks about it a lot. Buying luxury goods is a lifestyle and it is not for everyone. I don’t understand why people always think the inclusivity should be impose to everything, when in reality, it is not. There’s nothing wrong trying to impress other people but if you wanna do that then better buy the real ones and not the fake ones. It is making y’all tacky. There are tons of other well made brands that anyone can buy such as coach or Kate spade. If you really can’t buy LV or other luxury brands then stay in your lane and don’t try to cross the line by buying fakes.
It boggles my mind when I watch these RU-vid reveals from the same RU-vidrs, what seems like every other day unboxing like $10,000 worth of bags (no names but if you know you know lol). I buy authentic when I think it's really beatiful and the cheaper options are nothing like it. I prefer seeking out used items first before I buy it new though. There are also a lot of mid-pricerange unbranded things that are sometimes worth the money more than some brands. Buying cheap €5,- shirts for example usually means they are gonna have holes really fast. Spend just a little more, check the fabric. Then you really don't need to have the branded option that is most likely made of the same material but they added a logo...so basically buy dureable products if you really want to always look classy.

I buy a fake to test out the design of the bag before making the investment. If I like it, I’ll make it a goal and save up for it. If I do not like it, then I have not spent a huge fortune on it and then I will give the bag away. Also, there are several legit brands who make bags similar to luxury bags but do not straight up copyright infringe on the brand. Steve Madden is one that comes to mind and he does a great job of making bags and shoes that look like the designer brand but with his name and twist on the design. These are the ones that I suggest buying. Some are even better the the original! Most contemporary brands do the same. You just have to look. 😊

Girl i have authentic luxury bags and a few high quality fakes. When i carry the real im SO worried and conscious of my bag, i have to check it over everytime i put it back on my shelf and make sure its not raining that day etc. With my fakes, i don't worry about them at all ... besides my chanel 19 thats my dream bag and it honestly is SO good that it doesn't feel fake.
But if you buy a fake that has a heat stamp that says Louis Vuitton you are infringing on their trademark/patent. Also, fakes can fund human trafficking among other illegal activity. That’s the issue for me at least.
