Former Parkland School Resource Officer Goes on Trial

There were fireworks in court as the trial of the former Parkland school cop who failed to confront the killer began. Scot Peterson's defense attorney says the 60-year-old is being scapegoated. He claims Peterson became an easy fall guy because former Broward County sheriff, Scott Israel, tried to deflect blame from his department. As Inside Edition's Les Trent reports, this is a rare case of someone being charged because of what they did not do.

So let me get this straight. 🤔 He's on trial for hiding during a shooting cause he was all by himself? While the officers of Uvalde Texas who had ton of backup don't? 🤔

Maybe he is being thrown under the bus to a degree, but he still has culpability.
