Meeting president Carter has always been on my bucket list sense i was a little child. In 1976 I was 7 years old watching the news with my parents when they cheered when he won. I've been a fan of his calmness and positivity. He never got the recognition he deserves.
I was 8 years old when he lost to Regan. It was by far one of the saddest days in my household. But wow, have I loved Carter and his wife all these years. To me, they've both served more terms of AWESOME than any former president that ever lived.
Jimmy Carter talks the talk and walks the walk. It hurts to lose when you have ideas that you hope will benefit the country. He accepted his defeat with courage and quiet strength…He refused to plunge our democracy into chaos and selfishness and for that I will always have the upmost respect for him…
@@sharonluquis5823 truth right there. He did have his moments as President, unfortunate he wasn't able to get the hostages home in time, not for lack of trying. I always felt bad for them. But their work afterwards did far more good. Bless their souls.
Love them a ton! I am so glad I went to Americus and Plains, GA for my 37th bday last year and loved exploring President Carter's birthplace and where he grew up! Loved it and too bad I couldn't see them in person though glad I could explore with they being alive.
I’m not acting like he was one of the top best Presidents by any means. But he is such a good person. He said what he felt, he tried to do what was right. He’s not a bad person, unfortunately with the inflation and gas prices of 1979 and the Iran Hostage Crisis he just had bad luck. But he still felt like a real leader and someone who wasn’t abusing his power. I really like him despite some of the bad things he’s done during his presidency. Till this day he will still, he will go down in history as the president who made human rights central to his own foreign policy. Happy Birthday Jimmy Earl Carter. ✌️🦅
In a world today to see 2 human beings that have and show compassion for each other and others is a wonderful breath of fresh air. Love the Carter's. May God keep them healthy and living as long as possible.
How ironic is it that they’ve been married for 75 years, & I was born in 1975. I was 2 years old when he became the president in 1977. I’ll be 47 years old this year.
Congratulations to former US President Carter and his wife Rosalyn on their 75th wedding anniversary. Although his Presidency was not really successful, a presidency laden with problems any President would have found very difficult to deal with, he has certainly been one of the most successful, if not the most successful, former Presidents the US has ever had. What wonderful work that Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter have done for so many years after leaving the White House and I hope Mr. and Mrs. Carter will be able to reach their 100th birthdays, something that both so much deserve. My best wishes to them both and I hope they will be able to enjoy their final years so much.
Now we know that Rosalynn didn't succeed, although I wanted her to live longer than Bess Truman (With all respect to the latter). But with her dementia diagnosis in May, maybe it was better for her?

Dear President and Mrs. Carter: CONGRATULATIONS! (albeit belated). You two are fine, decent people who have helped so many. I trust you and your loved ones are well. I don't know what TV shows you like to watch, but my favorite comedy would be "The Dick Van Dyke Show" as I really enjoy that cast. I just can't resist putting in a "commercial" for that show! God bless you two and your loved ones.
Even though his time as president was before I was born. When jimmy carter does eventually pass on I will mourn his passing. unlike a privileged elite not elected or chosen by the people to be the head of a country. Jimmy Carter was chosen fairly by the people, and elected to do the job. Also jimmy carter did the best job he could do in a bad situation caused by factors beyond his control. Also he has shown himself to be a very caring decent individual.

A very good and decent man, during very hard times in our country. He had great intentions, but implementation was perhaps not the best! I’m saying this as a Regan Republican!
