Former pro wrestler Tully Blanchard, an original member of the "Four Horsemen" ministered to inmates at Broad River Correctional in Columbia, S.C., Friday, March 27, as part of the Bill Glass Champions for Life tour.
Good to see he got his life turned around and he found God very happy for this man it was one of the best wrestlers I ever got to watch on TV he was the perfect heel but there was just something about him that I liked couldn't tell you what it was and that's not important anymore God bless you Tully Blanchard and I hope you have a wonderful life
Tully Blanchard, I hope God richly blesses you and I know myself that even if it seems like a broken heart can't be healed, it can be but that is when we have to put everything faith wise into God. He works on his time frame and not ours. God bless you Tully Blanchard.
Followed Tully's career as a wrestler. He was very creative and had some of the best psychology in the ring, for being undersized. I like what he is doing with the prisoners more.
Nothing but mad respect for this man. Excellent athlete in his pro wrestling days and now he is a warrior for Jesus Christ. Remember watching Mr. Blanchard back in the day when he was associated with the 4 Horsemen and JJ Dillon. Continue your ministry work. God bless.
I have seen Tully wrestle many times on the old Jim Crockett Promotion cards. Greenwood & Columbia, SC. Norfolk & Hampton, VA. I have also heard him preach twice in my hometown and he was awesome. I know that he has had some trials since (marriage issues), but he has managed to hold his head high.
I had just missed this by 2 months daggonnit i left there in mid Jan.2009, man i would've really enjoyed hearing him speak. i liked the 4 horsemen back in his era and Tully and Arn were my 2 favorites of them.
Alcoholic here, turning 30 sunday. The urge to go get drunk is pretty intense right now. Tully had the strength to let go and find peace, I'm searching.
Brother i know what its like to want a drink i also know how hard it is to walk away from a drink. I pissed myself many times passing out drunk. Idk if you have had humiliating moments caused by drinking but if you have keep them in your mind as a reason not to drink
Hey man..I'm 45...live in Md near Mason Dixon line...one thing I learned about alcoholism, the urge to drink gets "Triggered" by certain things in your life such as particular type of people, places, emotions,or situations...when you REMOVE those triggers from your life it becomes a whole lot easier to have fun w/out alcohol/drugs..very few are able to quit cold turkey,so if a person is sober a while an gives in its not like you've failed, its a set back..I hope this advice helps you ...I've lost a lot in my life because of addiction...its not something you can just turn a switch on and off for..Faith and hard work help a lot to stay sober.
He may lost his wrestling career early and done bad things but he is a better person when he became born again Christian. Fame and being rich can't bring happiness. Open eyes and being reborn can
Yeah they fired him back in the day for failing a drug test, allegedly he was on powder, man i was so mad at WCW when they let him go 4horsemen wasn't the same without Tully's trash talking and riled up abilities, and nobody carried that World's TV title like he and Dusty R. did Thank God for delivering us from our sins and the funny thing about this is i was just released from there in mid Jan.2009.
What is so strange about the whole wife situation is that she went on later in life to marry one of his number one enemies in wrestling, Terry Allen (Magnum TA). He raised tully's kids for the most part and now they have kids together.
Tully you have come a long way brother. I remember seeing you in action with the women and drugs in Baltimore at the Safari Club. I was there with you. Thank GOD for all of his forgiveness. JESUS IS REAL. AMEN
God bless you brother I know what you mean my marriage and life was a mess wife left with child I died inside till Jesus came in my life I tried to change but couldn’t but the lord did
Believe it its true i was just released from there in mid Jan. 2009 and was on lock down in E dorm during Christmas thru New Years...i thank God for delivering me from my sins.
After his wife leaves him, he goes and wrestles, and after the match, "drinks and snorts himself to 'numb the pain.' " In my opinion, despite the "life of luxury" that's presented on the OUTSIDE, looks like sports-entertainment, or "showbiz," is as, if not MORE, painful and strenous, as a job at Walgreens, Burger King, Les Schwab, and/or Blockbuster Video.
I wonder how much these guys are getting played to do this line of work, seems like alot of ex wrestlers are doing this now Tully, Lex, Ted D. Ivan and Nikita, I mean the list goes on and on. Makes you wonder.
