Hi Dr Ed!Thnak you for all you do! I know the topic isn't about divorced people but I wanted to ask that since I am on full disability, and I remarried 12 years ago, but I was married to my son's dad 13 years, I don't have the actual marriage license but I do have our divorce decree. Would I qualify for divorced spouse benefits? Thank you

My partner of 26 years passed this May, he was still legally married to his ex. The director of the VA cemetery told me I could receive his SSI even though he was still married. Is this true? We were living in Washington state if that's a factor.

Since he was still legally married to his wife, and, Washington State doesn't recognize Common law marriage, you wouldn't be entitled to anything off of this man.
Voting blue will totally change this country and not for the better unless you like being told everything you can do and how much you can have. I love my freedom and don’t want government in every aspect of my life. We all need to be accountable and not expect the government to save us from ourselves. The government only wants to control us and our money. This country is on the edge of total destruction wake the hell up!
