I'm a military veteran with 100% disability.I fall for s SDI to the eye.The agent said this Shouldn't take us too long to get you through this filled out. The forms got the forms off. Turned in can I get a letter that they turned me down? I've sent them 100% of the copies of my 100% disabilities list from the V. A yes, I still was turned down. What's my recourse and possible next step? Please, thank you.

I was hurt in 2 bad accidents at work in 2006, after more than 7 yrs of surgery after surgery, the judge ruled me perm disabled. So being cut more than half my work life, I was stuck with a horrible amount of disability. I was on SSI in Tx then moved to Az. for a year then back to Tx. Tx put me on SSDI which was less and several year's went by and I was never told I could get both. Then I called and asked if it was possible and was told maybe if it doesn't go over a specified amount I applied, they made me wait a whole year for the extra 190.00 a month, they gave me 7 months back and then refused the rest because we had moved and I wasn't on the new lease because of bankruptcy. Having to live with my son, my car was hit and totalled, it was paid for, now I have a 300.00 payment and was refused! I'm confused

I personally hate telemarketers, but an older friend of mine is on Medicare and Medicaid and was in a program called pace for a few months, which turned out to be kind of a disaster for her and after she left that program, she got a phone call from Humana, or an agent that represented them and offered her a dual eligible plan that included giving her a debit card of $200 per month that she can use to buy food, drug store items and possibly even rent. I was concerned that she actually answered the phone call but it turned out to be a wonderful thing for her. She may be one of the unusual ones but I'm relieved that she got a little bit of extra help because her social security check is only $1,200. What's the new rules coming out I don't think that people like her will ever get those kind of phone calls again.

When I turned 65 I called to see if there was anything I needed to do since I’m on widows pension. The guy was very friendly and told me I qualified for disability so he helped me fill out the paper work and said I would probably keep both checks disability and widows well I waited over a year and finally this month I was approved for disability and I was able to keep both checks but here is the catch. They gave me disability off my social and the difference off widows and the amount stayed exactly same. All that time I thought I would get just a little more. I was fooled to believe it and no back pay they went back to what I was already getting for 5 years and divided it where that was the same also in pay. 😂

Currently married but we plan to get divorced or separated so I can stay on his work health insurance as soon as I get through the health crisis . I haven’t been able to work the last 9 months and won’t until 2025 at earliest . I was mostly a SAHM so my SS benefit is low so assume I need to get the spousal or ex spouse benefit . Can I get some insight ?- AZ resident . Thank you !

I understand added benefits - earned by not claiming until after FRA - don’t show up in Social Security checks until the January after claiming. So, if you claim when you turn 68 in March, your added benefits won’t show up in your check until the following January. Is that correct? Suppose you turned 68 in January and claimed that month - do you immediately get the added benefits, or will you have to wait a year? Thank you.
@MyGovExpert
@MyGovExpert 21 день назад
That's correct. There's a delay on that year's few months of delayed retirement credits.

Consider actively supporting the Social Security Expansion Act, a bill introduced in the Senate on February 13, 2023, which would bolster Social Security benefits. The bill's provisions include: Using the Consumer Price Index for the Elderly (CPI-E) to increase COLAs, and reflecting the disproportionate amount of older Americans' income spent on health care and prescription drugs in the formula. Reinstating student benefits for children of deceased or disabled workers up to age 22, and extending benefit eligibility for children who are full-time students. Lifting the cap on Social Security taxes for all income above $250,000.

Another question I have is I am currently receiving Medi-cal and I would like to know if I apply for Survivor's Benefits since I am currently divorced from her father would that benefit effect my Medi-cal. In both cases I'm basically trying to find out with us filing for Survivor's Benefits would our current benefits be effective. I appreciate your time and hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.

I have a question for you I’m an adult disabled survivor , I draw SSDI and Medicare only .. usually if those survivor benefits are higher the will just give survivor benefits.. just depends on the amount of the benefit whether she will stay on state medical.. see alot of people get SSI and SSDI mixed up these two programs have different rules.. sounds like your daughter is drawing ssi( which is a need based program ).. that’s different then SSDI .. so if her father has passed away and he had the 40 worked credits needed and she has been disabled since birth then yes mam apply for SSDI but if he didn’t have enough credits then that’s where it gets tricky Thames look at which benefit is higher..Now some people get ssi and SSDI combined if the SSDI is low .. but please apply I’m 58 I draw off my father
