Burgundy formed Netherlands. They can bypass the culture requirement for that. When they do, they cede all of their lands in the France region to France, and they make the map look really nice.
Hella annoying if you got the succession and the event to inherit doesn’t fire though. Gotta constantly stay at war to make sure they can’t click the decision
I tried that strat for like 12h. Managed to form Deutschland in 1516 IIRC. I had luck with HRE coz apart from Brandy and Saxony noone else was rivaled and managed to get few good wars in. The main thing is to take - AE splendor impact ASAP (humiliate PL in the war), get espionage -AE, during wars improve relations with outraged countries, have +relations advisor and have strong allies (Hungary, Austria, Burgundy, Muscovy, France, Ottomans). Once you break into 1490s you can do 3-4 wars vs small 1-2 province minors and annex bunch of them around 1510. PS: you don't need to do the danzig disaster capture land. You will fight PL in 1449 anyway, the event can't trigger if you're at war with PL. After the war you become prussia. You may have problems with burghers later but not siezing land 2x makes it easier to do that 60 loyality mission.
The only downside I can think of is that you can't seem to get the 5% Admin efficiency from Brandenburg mission tree along with forming Sardinia piedmont for another 5% when you do this strat.
Thank you for this video, it inspired me to try this strategy. I declared a humiliation war on Novgorod early to get justified wars era bonus asap. In war against Poland I took one extra province with a cardinal from Lithuania and got lucky in the first conclave. Then I set Austria as a rival so I didn't have to no CB them and started conquest earlier. After all I managed to form Germany in 1511, although it wasnt the most optimal run bcs had to fight two coalition wars. I think Germany can be formed in 1506 or even 1505
Tried that too after TheStudent and with Papal Controller you can actually do it by 1520 without getting a Europe Coalition. I took the trade mission (right side tree) to get cheaper Lv5 advisors for admin and diplo and took espionage+divine, what gives a strong siege policy. (10% ability and +1 siege contribution per artillery i.e. if you need 10 artillery for a full siege bonus you now only need 5.)
By the way, I followed your guide and successfully done it. However, Bohemia rivaled me and allied with Poland, I had to fight bohemia, I had to fight bohemia and Austria plus Poland to dismantle the HRE. After that it was a cake walk. Anyhow, what idea would you suggest? I am at 1590 without forming Germany even I can. I did got all the provinces I need to form Germany in 1540,s. Still want to do the mission, the archbishop gov type always give trash rulers. Lacking a lot of points on getting army professionalism up. I currently doing a lot of reconquest. Have 5 big vassals including Provence, burgundy, Poland, Milan, Gascony. And have 220 force limit. Probably going for admin or a mil idea next. I took divine idea and kept it. If you dont want to no cb for the dismantle war you can just get a claim on Wolgast or Stettin and dec on one of them. The emperor will help them when you re not a member of the HRE.
I always fail to get all the electors as an ally, I guarantee them, offer mil access, give subsidies and send gifts, insult their rivals but it's never enough if they rival each other, especially trier and cologne. Any tips?
Diplo rep adviser helps, be sure you aren't overextended as that lowers rep a bit. I generally ally Trier first. Be sure to check if there is any double rivaled scenarios, you will need to ally that elector first.
You play this game very well, only thing I noticed is that you keep your army maintance on while at peace and don´t drill them either. That´s a pretty major waste of money. Also you shouldn´t stand with a whole army on a siege, it´s much better to split the forces and only keep the minimum amount of tropps +1 for less manpower waste.
If you dont want AI stealing provinces in a war u can just mark them as provinces of interest and, unless they also marked them, they will transfer occupation to you
I can't help but notice you are using province claims rather than espionage ideas' state claims in the early German wars. Any particular reason for that, like lack of time, or just an oversight?
gov cap was already an issue and getting a further -50% would be crippling since it would give a nasty AE increase and a very serious admin efficiency debuff while likely doubling or tripling advisor costs to boot. Plus he was already steamrolling people and the 10% discipline would be overkill.
You have so much ae and money at that stage it really doesn't matter whether you have it or not. I kept it and I'm on gov cap with half of Germany stated. Half of Europe conquered in 1580. It's mostly the manpower recovery thats useful for militarizarion at this point.

little improvment alteast in 1.35 didnt play the current patch teutons. you can rival novagrod after you get livionen order once muscovy attacks you can just fire of a really cheap show of streagth war. that plus the missions tree garantees you to be ahead by 1 mil tech in the early games and vs some ai countries even 2. something you did not mention but probably did anyway its really ez spawnign faceting in dazing. wich is a pretty big boost. and i usually like boosting danzig to 30 not the capital slighly higher mana cost but more money. i did this once but had to delace on brandenburg but beeing tech 5 vs 3/4 made it pretty ez. the idea of just no cbing one of the allies yeah thast a pretty sleak optimization i should have thought of ^^ while admin is more efficant offesnvie + espoinage is really funny i half stated and took admin a tech 10 and then full stated everything still should work out fine but admin is technically better but high siege ability is just a joy to watch. i wonder if anyone ever did the HRE patch without dismateling.
does anyone know why i don't get the option to let fate decide when choosing an heir? I always have to choose an option which gives a negative to one of the estates.
I dont know if you already knew this and were just making a joke, but the reason everyone left the coalition at the end is that AE doesn't carry over when you tag swap.
Are you for real ? This opens a window to so many possibilities for AE reset. Even here, I'd 100% land grab poland/Lithuania and then tagswap to Prussia for AE reset.
AE does carry over when tag swapping, it would be super exploitable otherwise, I reckon everyone leaving was just due to the ai recalculating his strength, like when you reload the game and everyone leaves your coalition
The vast majority of the major nations that were in the coalition were also allied to austria. When he peaced out they all got a truce, which takes them out of coalition calculation. There was basically just France left and some minor tags. He was also ahead of time in tech.

I can't follow this strategy, either Brandenburg allies Poland, or Poland doesn't PU Lithuania, or either Brandenbourg and Bohemia rival me Edit: when i managed to get all of them, Muscovy declared on Novgorod before i could declare on Lithuania
