@@diiamondgiant_2527i just finished all of cold war zombies easter eggs, im new to zombies and dont know what game comes after cold war zombies, can u help me?
I haven't followed CW too closely like I did the old storyline, but the thought of Peck going back to ZNS to do something with the old cycle and the possible link of Stuhlinger being in Eddie's head is making me feel something I haven't felt in a while.
@@johnromero6315 i believe the current theory that’s in is that he’s going to look at that site because it’s where the first vanguard map will be. so he’s going there like we did project endstation or whatever dm is called if that makes sense. like the vanguard map would still be happening earlier but he would go there after to research or sum
@@JohnnyDang117 he wouldn't be going there at the end of the cold war story it would be before as its a prequel therefor in the timeline its before cold war
My favorite part about the cutscene is that everyone complies when they’re being arrested except for Strauss, he does *not* want to go one bit lol. I just thought that was funny.
It makes sense since he always seemed the most invested in the Dark Aether compared to the other heads of Requiem when it comes to research, to the point where he wouldn't be too keen on stopping and of course getting arrested.
Bro🤣🤣 it’s the fact that “the director” aka richtofen said he was gonna shut down requiem I don’t think he realized all this time that you’re operator is apart of requiem🤦🏽♂️🤣
I mean, I thought that in my head too. The moon would be perfect to send the forsaken to. The timeline is right around the first moon landing. About 12 years later, right? What if they take the Forsaken to the moon JUST in case it gets lose?
Anyone gonna Talk about this weaver line “Maxis what ever your thinking of doing don’t do it” I might be digging too deep but that’s the same line primis Dempsey says to ultimis Edward
@@chriswakley2362 Headcanon goes against what's been known about the story though, as we know Mason and Woods are doing other things so they couldn't get arrested for being part of Strike Team
Carver, Grey, ''Shaw'' and Weaver lmao. Milo you confused me there for a second. I was wondering what Shaw was doing in the Eather story. Turns out it's just Strauss.
if the ZNS theory actually happens there’s so much potential for zombies story. I cannot wait to find out where it goes. Always look forward to your story vids. Great job as always :)
Also, if they’re adamant on doing operators then it should at least be like WW2. That game had unlockable operators but still had a canon set of 4 that would be in cutscenes regardless of who you play as. It’s the best fusion of both systems imo
@@lunanyx8592 true but activision would never allow that because operators are one of they’re main method for monetisation these days with the bundles.
@@alistairsnowshroud8069 I personally would love that. The easter eggs are just so goddamn hard that the only way for us casuals to follow the story is to watch recaps on RU-vid. WWII had a great way of just having an "easy" easter egg, then a harder one for the veterans.
@@johnderat2652 I'm kinda in the same boat with you on that. I can count on one hand the amount of main EE's I've completed. Including Cold War (Stuck on Outbreak EE 1).
I've found meleeing them at early rounds helps. At round 13-14 the orbs are one hits as long as whatever melee you've got is Papped to Level 1. Doesn't work with the Chrysalax Melee sadly.
With the ray gun depending in what level pack it is one shots them and sometimes splash damage kills them

To be honest, I always enjoy watching cutscenes where we can see the character, so it doesn't really bother me much. The little last bit of that song after catching the Forsaken just gave me pure chills.
I doubt it considering everything that has to do with the original aether was vanished to the dark aether and destroyed along side the shadow ma. Either way it’ll be a cool plot twist if they do something like that.
I definitely want more zombies story line videos.. You always have a brilliant way of explaining everything, to make it very understanding. Always have, and always will have lots of love and respect for you Milo ❤ Keep up the great work!!
I think the potential confusion with Samantha and Weaver being operators is a fair complaint to have, but I also just never had this confusion myself. I was watching your live when you had that confusion, and the operator outfit was just a dead giveaway that it was just your operator. I have actually finally appreciated what the operator system allows them to do. In the previous maps it was kind of whatever, but with how much we the players are actually being talked to directly in Forsaken, it gave me a sense of immersion and connection I've never quite had with the story. The Aether story has always been interesting, compelling, and engaging; but we've always just been spectators. In this map more than ever, we are the ones doing these things. What really gave me this sense of immersion and connection was when I listened to the Forsaken's radio in the particle accelerator room, and he started talking directly to me, not Samantha or Weaver, but me directly. I don't think this system is necessarily the best, it certainly needs work, but if they continue to fine tune it and make us feel more like we're actually part of the story, I'll be happy with that. When requiem team gets freed, I will be one that's freed, not just the character I happen to be assigned when the map started; and that's powerful.
9:25 You gotta remember that the original Requiem plan was for the Forsaken to be killed. At least that was the plan to everyone else. The Director was the only one that planned for it to be captured no matter what, and seemed like he KNEW it couldn’t be killed and that Omega would beat them either way. Which is why he had reached out to Peck and gave info to Omega on how to capture it. He wanted it captured for himself no matter what for whatever Operation Janus was.
You know it bums me out we might have to wait until 2023 to continue this story thread. We have vanguard this year which is a prequel and next year is infinity ward and most likely they will do another modern warfare since that last one was so successful which makes me think they we won’t have zombies in cod 2022 and instead spec ops again
Your guide helped us to finish the egg on our first run (not counting the one game we played to just help us get to know the map a little). Thanks for the amazing guides and I love all of the things we can take from this cutscene!
You are by far my favorite person to hear the history and story of zombies from. I have been using your guides since Kino Der Toten. Thank you so much man you are a huge part of my high school life and my gaming life on the whole. Thank you.
I feel like requiem may have just been banished to the dark aether from black site 13.. Maybe eddy divulged his plan to them and offered them a place in op janus, they probably refused because they seem to have some morals at least. Eddy banishes them to the dark aether (somehow) and the storyline will pick up moving forward with peck opening a portal with the missiles and breaking requiem and maxis out (in whatever form they've ended up in) That would lead to requiem having potentially similar aether abilities to Sam and eddy having his former underlings now supercharged and standing against him.. I don't believe for one second that op janus is somethibg good or beneficial in any way, it seems like they've just pushed eddy down Edwards old path of seeking power, mad experimentation etc.. He seems a lot more akin to ultimis Edward than anything else from what we've seen so far.
Even though I have not followed Cold War as passionately as previous games, Treyarch has done a phenomenal job in making this story and has set it up in a really good way. Restarting from scratch is often very difficult especially after the ending in Tag Der Toten. But my hype for the next Treyarch game is through the roof. Love to see the storyline videos also being back!
This last map really made me appreciate the Dark Aether story. Up until now I was like "eh" i don't really care for anyone or anything about this story (except for Klaus Sadge). I feel like the plot itself for the dark aether story is really really good, i just didn't like or gravitate to the story telling. Specifically how majority of the minor (but also major) details were displayed through intel.
I really do agree. If only they had kept it this interesting from the start. I hated this story but this map and the ending and the story at its climax made me feel like we were finally getting a real story.
Yes! Please make more of these storyline vids! I watch every one and it really helps clear up things i may have missed and/or misunderstood. I only just started playing COD in season one of Cold War. So I've been trying my best to understand the entire chain of events from the start because I'm a timeline freak lol I like to know every detail of what happened, when, to whom, where, and why and everything in between.
@Punk Then whose been doing the action on the maps then? Most of the NATO Operators are Canon, Except Price. Sam being one opens a slew of different problems for people as Milo already explained that confused him.
@@zacharyyoung9646 I don’t think you understand the meaning of „canon”. It’s the universal lore that you could just as well learn from other sources because it’s so profound. Completing a map as the Buldozer doesn’t make him integrated with the zombies universe. Individual operators aren’t canon. Only „Strike team” is
Honestly the story was really boring throughout the whole game but I think it’s really starting to pick up now that Eddie finally got revealed and there’s a lot of interesting stuff going on with him
@@NeonTheWolf just like me,i know every single thing thing from waw to bo4 that it's a super complicated story, but had no interest for cw,now that eddie is back im rethinking it
I think that the story hasn’t started the best, everything went too well. But I don’t think that’s bad writing, because Treyarch don’t just write things on the spot, they plan the story well. And Forsaken is a great example of that. The lore drops here are insane, just like the ones from BO3. Treyarch really just has been easing into the crazy stuff because this was the year to market zombies to those who don’t know the story.
13:22 that’s why we needed a dedicated crew. At the end of the cutscene if you have Adler, woods, Mason, or Hudson, then it messes up the story and breaks immersion.
Honestly who would we have had if we had a dedicated crew in this game? Since we are playing as CIA operatives than it makes sense to have the same operators from MP (doesn't make sense for the Warsaw Pact ones but whatever). I didn't mind this operator system they had, I thought it helped zombies feel less of a "bonus mode" and more streamlined like multiplayer with proper character customization, but I agree that they needed at least more lines and small interactions.
@@peytonsnyder2421 honestly I don’t mind a CIA strike team as long as they had a good personality. The operator system is great because you can use your bought skins so it’s also better for them, but having lines like “multiple KIA” makes zombies feel less like zombies. For examples I was playing chronicles and on kino, Nikolai loves to go “How do you say thank you in idiot” after you revive him. The game just sorta. Feels better with a crew
@@GhostlyComrade technically it would be possible to have the five crew since they do survive after five but to avoid the customisable operator problem they could of just introduced 4 new characters in the first Cold War map and it would play out better in cutscenes
C'mon Milo, after all the memes about Sam being in these cutscenes as an Operator and you thought that was the real Samantha Maxis in the ending cutscene, not just your operator? You're smarter than that
A part of me feels like it’s definitely contributory confusion. Sure, a stream viewer might be confused, but if you’ve selected that operator, you sort of consent to that confusion. Could’ve picked literally from the tens of other operators. No hate tho, I love Milo!
Another theory I have is do you think Eddie might have some way of knowing what certain outcomes might be? Just as he did when he had the kronorium and if so, project Janus might either be a way to stop her, or for Eddie to take that power just like Ultimus did
Yea could be in blood of the dead there was another richtofen with the kronurium so what if all version of richtofen are somehow connected to the Kronorium so yeah would be possible at all also theres the possibility of him taking the book with him as he stepped through the Dark aether
@@Deathmare235 do you not know treyarch are gonna be doing zombies for every cod game now. No more 2 years waits brother, we getting new treyarch zombies content in about a month.
All I ever want is Zombies storyline videos from you, Nothing better than when you deep dive into every last bit of content to make our minds work. Black Ops 3 was the perfect example I've never studied a game so much than that because of your videos. So I'm all for the story videos, Keep up the great content Milo, you're always killing it
I could see that Project Janus is to save Victis. Because they’re fairly innocent in the grand scheme of things and have suffered both at the hands of Ultimis and Primis. Though they’d have been in the Dark Aether for Centuries based on when Sam and Eddie got into the current universe.
Richtofen being a husband and a father doesn’t surprise me because if I remember doesn’t he say many times in thru all of zombies that he’s loved many lives and that there are manyyyyyyy versions of him. Who’s to say they are all German scientists ?
Oh my god I missed these storyline vids Milo. Loved them back in BO3 and have missed them all year, now we actually have something to talk about its got me so so excited for the future of the storyline.
You wanna know what I just noticed??? you can see the map of the world, when they released the missiles in the pacific it looks like where dr peck wanted to go when he went to Japan 5 years later…. Do you think he might be looking for the missiles that requiem sent out??
This is huge stretch, but what if Peck is pointing to an old WW2 underwater facility? (Kinda like the Bioshock 2 style map or like Leviathan from BO3 Custom Zombies?) which would be very close to the Inversion Warheads (for story purposes). But what if in Vanguard we could have one of the maps being this underwater facility, like a prequel to Projekt Endstation in Die Maschine? Peck then goes to the facility to take over it and scavenge what's left of the Inversion Warheads and proceeds with his plan. 🤔
I want more zombies storylines!! You are the best at what you do and I look forward to the notifications of a new video and everytime I click on it and you go "Hey guys MrRoflWaffles here" makes me chuckle lol. I don't know if you will see this but you are the main reason for my zombies knowledge and also how I can go past round 20. When I used to never make it to 10. Pardon my French but you are a fucking legend! 🙌 👏
@@alistairsnowshroud8069 Right, fair point, it makes it worse that Takeo, Richthofen, Nikolai, and Dempsey were interesting likeable characters so instead of trying to emulate that they went in the complete opposite direction.
And 2 years later, that future would come to pass as in Mw3 zombies all those characters are dead. The 2024 zombies will be a prequel to MW3 zombies story
it's been a while since i brushed up on my greek mythology but i believe that the doors to temple of janus would only be open in times of war . so perhaps the end goal of project janus is to heat up the cold war and start it in full effect thus opening the doors of janus. just a thought
Note on the confusion caused by Maxis throwing herself into the dark aether and then being arrested 10 seconds later, all veteran zombies players felt that confusion on some level. Haven't been a huge fan of the operator system since the beginning, but having it now messing with the story makes it even worse. It just makes story building so much more difficult on themselves and makes us less engaged in the story that they build. Really hope they learn from this soon.
Or you know don’t be stupid and remember that every other cutscene this year has used the operators. Zombie veterans hopefully don’t associate with this crap
i actually like the operator system, i think a easy fix is to give some more interacting with the events. like maybe woods will respond to weaver "you got it weaver, we'll find and extract maxis" or maybe after learning peck trew maxis into the dark aether : "peck you son of a b***h, you'll pay for this" maybe weaver will respond to woods aswell "your mission is to extract maxis, we're counting on you woods" this would not work with every character but would help
A few responses to some passionate things I've seen in comments: Saying Maxis being an operator isn't canon is basically admitting that operators don't play into the story at all, sadness. I can't speak for all zombies veterans, but I know I've been playing since bo1 and when I saw maxis as an operator I bought it thinking that she would be more zombies than the rest who were all multiplayer characters thrown into zombies. And I know that it probably isn't Treyarch making all of the calls, but I also think that Activision needs to learn from mistakes just as much as Treyarch does. If Activision is going to keep zombies as a main game mode in future CODs, they need to actually pay attention to what people like. Not saying you can't like the operator system, to each his own. But I strongly believe that a story is much stronger and easier to write without the operator system. And with a good story comes good easter eggs and feelings from players during games. I know Milo has talked about wanting to feel during Cold War. I think having developed characters plays into that. Also, I would love to see interactions between operators and the game just like characters, but I think with the operator system the way it is there is way too many of them for Treyarch to go through and write those kinds of quality voice lines. Each operator would need an interaction with every other operator on every map for it to feel unique, and it's just more difficult for them at that point than it would be to give us 4 consistent characters for a map.
this vid has my head spinning hahah hurry up vanguard, love how at the end milo you say you hope this answered some of our questions...i think you've opened up a whole lot bigger can of worms my guy lol
Thank you for the video Milo! Loved the breakdown, but there's one thing I haven't seen ANYONE touch on at all is the containment chamber itself for the Forsaken. It's the same design as S.O.P.H.I.A. Even in the blueprint for the containment chamber, Kravchenko makes a note asking what that is. I feel like that has HUGE implications!
4:20 as far as I’ve seen no one has talked about this, but is it just me or did anyone else get the impression that the forsaken was trying to tell us that maxis will kill everyone. Like he says this will be the future and the graffiti is a powerful girl. I took this as him trying to say that maxis will become powerful with the dark aether power and kill everyone in order for us to not trust her or if he can see the future. Also when maxis goes in she states that she is not a bad person, she is a good soul, which to me seemed almost unnecessary since we already believed that, but is that hinting at her saying she won’t become corrupted inside? I guess I wouldn’t be surprised if we do try to save maxis in the future and she becomes corrupted from the dark aether because that’s what it does and she would be in there a long time and we end up having to fight her. Or even the forsaken and her merge somehow or something. Don’t know just a theory and I could be totally wrong. That was just my first thoughts when I saw that graffiti in the vision and I haven’t seen anyone mention it, definitely seems like it was out there on purpose.
