C-3-1 July-November 1986. Thanks for the memories. I recognized everything right away from the reception center (Where the movie Stripes was filmed) The barber shop, uniform issue, the raised area trying on boots, even the steak body truck that picked us up and headed to Disney Barracks. The pistol training looks likes it in the parking lot behind Disney Barracks where we did most of our drill training. And who doesn't remember the gas chamber...

Thanks for posting this video my fellow Tanker. I was there May 1987, A-1-81, 2nd Platoon under Drill Sergeant Lee (Master Fitness) and Drill Sergeant Cohee. We were in the Disney barracks and there was a small Greyhound bus station just down the road from the barracks. First was trained on the M1 (105 mm smooth bore) and later trained on the M1A1 (120mm smooth bore), OSUT as all of us tankers were. Our tankers side arm was initially the M1911A1 45ACP and later we were we got the replacement side arm which was the Beretta 92F 9mm pistol. Who could forget the gas chamber? Lol! Agony & Misery...got to love the tactical road marches keeping 5 meter intervals. Drill Sergeant Lee had us pushing up Ft. Knox at every opportunity, he was true hard core. Thank you Drill Sergeant Lee for conditioning my mind and my body! God bless all of my fellow Tankers, both past and present............Hooah!

The dreaded Gas Chamber!! I'm a bird,, I can fly!! Not!! Mucus and pleghem and anything else left is coming up! The only hint we got from the Senior Drill was.... Don't shave!!!!
