So many years our family would go to Ft Myers Beach in the winter. It was beautiful, lush and green. We would stay at the Royal Beach Club, which was demolished during Ian. I feel so sad when I watch this video and see all that is not there anymore , the sand all over that makes it look like a desert, the pools that are green and dirty...... I'm hoping the next years brings all of what it was back to you. We would love to hang out in "Times Square" in the evenings and on the pier. My memories are vivid, being there with my parents. Thank you for the great memories Ft Myers.
Ian took out so much of Ft. Myers Beach and as challenging as Milton was it doesn’t look as devastated. So much has been cleaned up from Ian. My tears flow the wonderful memories of the sunset on the pier near Times Square, the blue skies. Unbelievable
Apologies to those who wanted to see the south side of the island, but it was still blocked by a police presence and long lines. Only residents, business owners, and workers were allowed into the area.

What an F'ing mess... Jeeeezus... I'd never live there and want to have to worry about that EVERY single year. But I will come back to visit and support the community..
Como edificios altos en la playa! Donde saben que la remporada baja, barata, hay huracanes feroces. Todo lo destruido dejenlo, a la playa si , un kiosko hot dog and nothing more.
Looks like it will be up and running as soon as they get some ice and drinks ready and get the sand out of the sheets and you don’t even need ac this time of year I wonder if they are offering any specials like come to Florida and rent some beach for a dollar a day ! Not gonna happen , I tried to go there and all I got was ring ring ring ring so I guess there’s no way to help if I’m broke except to help clean up and rebuild for free I hitch hiked there and was told I’d be arrested if I tried to help any one I guess they haven’t made it possible for poor people that want to help ! Rather than spend my days in a hot no ac police station with vagrants that are trying to manipulate me , I have to say it’s hard for a man who cares and wants to help clean up and help others walled up like the fence in Mexico and the armed guards on the border they are very helpful if I want a free vacation in Mexico I just remove my fingerprints painlessly and cut all the tags off of my clothes, and speak Mexican and I don’t have to pay a dime .and when I’m in Mexico saftely I ask my wife to mail me my passport , and if I want to go home I let them catch me again this time with my passport and I vacation for free , one’s gotta make the best of these times the best time to do it is during Covid it’s over I know but there’s a daily briefing and there’s always a good turn over no passport no speak English every American is a shoe in it’s just like the hobos did back in the day go any where for free!
