Awesome! I'm wondering why so much was placed on such a small footprint of a single island? Your knowledge of the architecture and artifacts is impressive. I'm guessing most men stationed here during the war found this to be a beautiful setting, especially at sunset and sunrise. Beats so many other possible places. Look forward to the second video of this island. Stsy safe and be well! Mark S.

In the summer of 1990 I was on vacation on the French Atlantic coast, where lots of German bunkers are still standing directly on the beach. Germany then just had won the football world championship and someone with an apparently abundant stock of white paint had written "DEUTSCHLAND IST WELTMEISTER" in massive Gothic letters on one of the bunkers. The following year the writing was still there, just as indestructible as the bunker itself. A pity that I didn't shoot a picture of it.

Thank you for greetings in the front of your video. I always look forward to your videos. I didn't get the notification about this video and a few others. Just so you know. Keep on bringing us history. I am very proud of the 4 dioramas. I have them hung up on the wall of my firearms/reloading room next to the picture of my dad and I. They will be in every one of my videos from here on out. If I get more they will be going to a good home. I want everyone to have a piece of history so I hope that everyone that is lucky enough to get one will display it with pride. Happy History Hunting mein freund. Another top grade video my friend. Thanks for the island shot with the markers it gives even more perspective on how packed the place is. The junction box, the connectors on top in their day would have unscrewed, they are similar to units used in the panzer chassis. Is it me or is EE getting taller or are you shrinking? Again nice job and you people stay safe out there.

With all the features on this island, it’s a wonder that it didn’t sink. Walking around on the island is like walking around exploring Ancient Rome. I’ve watched documentaries on the Germans retreating on the Eastern front and destroying everything the Russians could use as they retreated. Did they do this same thing on the Western front? So many features around the bunkers. I noticed watching all your videos that you’ll find electrical wires coming out of a pipe, another will have the junction box on the wall and so on. After a while and watching so many of your videos you could almost imagine what the complete electrical would look like. Love these videos so much and I’ve learned so much and even more watching them a second time. Thank you for these great adventures.

That gun placement was huge. Extremely well made structures still pretty well intact today. Do wonder what the diagram of the ship and coordinates were for? Reinhardt and the sheep gang were just reminding you of your boundaries HH and EE. Toilet was put in a very good place as privacy is of utmost importance. Definitely some huge gear was there. Have to agree with you HH. Would have liked to see what was there before it was demolished. A lot of activity went on there. Can't imagine around 300 German soldiers being there at one time. Yes HH that was one sick German WW2 Island. Thanks for battling the weather elements, spiders, mosquitoes, and vicious sheep in order to bring us WW2 history. We your followers appreciate your efforts.

About the exploded bunker... when the Allies took over a lot of gun batteries, they placed all the shells in one of the bunkers and blew them up to get rid of them. The metal parts look like rails to move the shells around in the bunker. If you go back, please feel free to post the signals cover to me, as that is a great find. I'll pay the postage lol! It will be given a good home!

I just got through watching a video on how the bunkers were built. It’s unbelievable what they did in a short amount of time. On the large bunkers they would either pour all the concrete at one time over a two or three day time or they pour it in sections. They also talked about the eastern wall on the Polish border that was full of bunkers. Have you been there? It was very nice of you to talk to your fans about McDonalds lol. The video I watched said that the large bunkers could survive most bombs of the day. Some of the destroyed bunkers they showed were destroyed from explosions from the inside. One killed 12 Americans after they were carelessly smoking inside a bunker with ammunition in it. Great video again from you and Eagle Eyes.

Those girders look very much like feldbahn lines which would explain the rocks either side of a flat road . Railway Trackbed it would be the most economical way to feed all the guns , somewhere there must be a main munitions store

I know during the war they had submarines and fake fishing boats along with other weather forecasting installations around the coast, maybe that trawler painting was a minder to the gun crews not to blast their own boat out there. baaah baaah lol, gotta love the talking scenery with it's own sound track! lol! thanks again guys!!!

The sheep, as well, are enjoying your video! More fascinating history from this extraordinary little island. Did the RAF know about its heavy fortification and told the bomber streams to avoid it or did it come as a nasty shock to them? Thanks and best wishes to you and to Eagle Eyes.

What could it have been that needed protection farther inland. Hmmm. With 300 men assigned on that island there had to be supply boats coming in everyday. And where did their garbage go. What a fantastic adventure H.H. Thank you.
