Thank you! You always do a wonderful job bringing us WW2 history and I like how you’ll include an original picture from back then with an item you locate. Eagle eyes does a great job helping you and he’s learning a great history lesson. Maybe Eagle eyes can get a metal detector of his own to use when you both go out to these locations and help cover a little more area? Look forward to your next video, keep up the great work! Always excited when I get an alert from “WW2History Hunter” for a new video!🤗

I also have a bag full of Medals my Father collected when he worked in Berlin in the 1950's. Oh I also have a French 37 mm Rifled Cannon Round and Brass Shell. (Marked 37-85 PDPs 138 9 16.) I was thinking, all the complete dishes, cups and spoons and knives you have found over your adventures, you could have a German theme dinner party. I am still amazed of the number of complete plates you have found on your adventures. You would think that the farmers would have used the barb wire for fencing around their pasture. Did they use the sniper shields in WW2? Be thankful you have Eagle Eyes with you. There’s no telling how much you would miss if not for him. Great job Eagle Eyes.

What a precious 💖 intro you and EE walking hand in hand, while heading out to your next adventure. It did look quite windy, but that would not stop you, as you were on yet another mission. Look at all those pieces of ceramic, beer and wine bottles EE found. I think the German soldiers ate their Knackhurst and Sauerkraut in style. Ja!!!!!! What an amazing find, the Deutsch Infantry Sniper Shield . Just imagine the action that shield was involved in. I hope that you and EE were able to take a lot of those historical artifacts back home with you. Your videos leave us wanting more. Thanks again HH and EE. Continue to stay safe.

I believe the trash piles turn up the most interesting items of the German soldiers life. While this location didn’t prove as much as others you have been to, it was nice to see the items you did find. I was thinking about the powder boxes you found and wondering why they would use those to firer the shells? I thought the shell were already loaded with powder. You should take all that barb wire home with out of secure the perimeter of your house lol.

In Hauptmannswillerkopf, whew that's a mouthful, I found a sunken road under a one meter thick matt of first war wire. In the large " balls" usually shell hole sized I could see bits of leather equipment (bayonet frogs and boot pieces ...) This was in the early nineties and all still visible on the surface from the first world war.
@wdrankin400
@wdrankin400 3 года назад
This would have been on the back of the French side of the mountain below the sunken road in low scrub trees as far as I could see there were pieces of shells and Arial bombs, tail fins. Young and dumb I walked through under the trees and picked some up took pics, some were about 2 feet in length, it was crazy looking with all those tail fins and junk sticking out of the ground. So glad you and your son share the finds, blessings to you and yours.

I wonder why there was so much glass and ceramic stuff in rock openings. An officer said, "Clean this place up" and they just threw it out of view? I can't see them trying to be tidy and neat otherwise in the middle of a war. Maybe the superficial cleanup was done post-war?

Curious that the first photo (with the two Germans), the sniper shields are deployed in what I would have thought was the wrong side toward the enemy. The second photo, (with the trench), shows what I would think is the correct orientation.

That looks like a 7.5x55 case from a Mauser rifle that the Germans used.

Are you able to preserve some of the artifacts - seems a shame to let them rot in the weather!?!
