Fortnite CHAPTER 5 is HERE!

I miss when Fortnite was simple. More mechanics does not mean better game.

I'm calling it now. The Medallion system is gonna get re-worked or removed. Passive shields like that will be *great* in Zero Build, but watching it with builds is concerning. Then add on that they stack up the more you have, its gonna make some folks just ludicrously hard to take down.

As a no build player I really like all the changes, the movement doesn’t really affect me. Some complaints I would have is the amount of npcs and the healing. Also like 80 percent of the player base players build mode so they should revert the movement.

We really went from og Fortnite to cod with all these attachments and stuff

I really hope they make the running movement back to normal

The thing I don't like is that the weapons spawn with attachments already. It should be normal loot pool with guns that are the same and attachments should be added by choice on benches and you should choose what do you want. Now all guns are really messy and sometimes it's confusing what you are even picking from the ground

Not a fan of the projectile weapons, they just don't feel good to use in a game like fortnite, feels like you're at an active disadvantage if you take one over a hitscan gun. The new mantling and hurdling is a bit sluggish but with some adjustments I can see them being awesome additions to the movement in this game and provide a lot more options in build mode when you encounter people who instantly build giant towers and what not.

I think there should be more workbenches, I think it’s a little too hard to get the poi’s with them (I’m bad) also movement is slightly harder to learn, although I still like it. Also they need to add back first shot accuracy because I’ve had multiple games where me and another person traid deaths

Map looks incredible, but my biggest issue is how quickly the storm moves. It’s a lottery on where you land, and if you’re far from the storm circle, you’ve got hardly any time to loot as you’ve to move straight away to make it. It puts you on the back foot from the start

Just watched this on live. I just wanna say something... im 35 years old and its easy to take life and your time here for granted. Make sure to appreciate these little moments because you will look back and realize little goofy moments like Fortnite chapter releases and random days playing with friends are some of your best memories. honestly i understand that they wanted to change the running to something new but if they going to make the movement like this i feel like it’ll be better if they make it to where you can sprint a little bit longer so it feels better because it drains too slow and regens back to slow too

I’ve got whiplash from going from OG Fortnite to this. It doesn’t even feel like the same game.

New walking animations are the only thing holding back the game

My idea is I hope epic makes the new movement a setting for the people that don’t like it. Me personally I don’t like it so that would be a big change for me bc that is the only issue I have with this new chapter/season

Tip for anyone who isn't familiar with weapon mods, if you get a striker ar, weapon mod it to the sniper scope (4x view) and if its a high enough rarity then also get the laser or vertical foregrip. It basically turns it into a long range sniper and you can shoot fast with high accuracy. Good in build and broken in zero build.

i kinda wish they made seperate modes for this. this and the old without the new stuff, so that people can play simple if they rlly want to

I think the medallions are going to be a huge problem , especially in build mode , you could damage someone so much and they can just box up and hold their wall until they are full shield again

I love the new features and map of this chapter. But, the walking is so slow and weird to move. I hope they brin it back to the original version

For the people saying that they miss when everything was simple: exactly, you miss when you where a kid, didn't have much responsibilities and actually had fun while playing. The game didn't change, you did. Kids nowadays will probably make memories playing this chapter.

Simple is what made fortnite fun. I didn't realize it until the OG season came back trolling and having fun with the simpler items as well the map seemed to be more spread out than these new ones. The movement now is terrible as well. Just not feeling too much yet.

I know it has been just a day since the update rolled out, but it has made the game slightly complicated. Absolutely love the new map, and updated movement tweaks, also appreciate the new weapons which have been added, but the gun mods and medallions are a bit too much. Had it been just the gun mods, it would’ve been fine. But if someone has multiple medallions, eliminating them would be one hell of a task. Seems a bit unfair for others. Just my 2 cents.

You forgot to mention a big part of the medallions, which is that it shows your location on the map for all the players. The more medallions you have, the more precise the location is. The first guy that you said you had a bounty on, just had a medallion. This balances it out a bit.

It’s crazy how streamers always get in the game with ease while we’re fighting with matchmaking errors

So that big orange zones on the map are people with medallions, the more you have the smaller your circle gets, kind of like some tech from warzone, but this allows you to become basically a juggernaut.

Please Make a Video on which attachments are the best on which weapons and for all the rarities. I get confused all the time when picking between two of the same green weapon one having different attachment. It would be appreciated and keep up the good content!!

This is genuinely the first time in fortnite history where I've been confused about everything. I can't even remember the gun's names 💀💀

notice how you slowly walk instead of running like before? You can only run at all if you sprint. Its like they removed auto run and you're stuck walking unless you have stamina

I think the movement, map, graphics ect are all amazing. The only thing I don't like so far is how every weapon is practically spam meta with insane damage per shot. And the locker. Having separate loadouts for both emotes, banner, and wraps just feels wrong and confusing. And personally I do feel like attachments should be done a lil differently like imo: keep the attachments pre installed on epic and legendary weapons just a lil less though. and have it to where attachments commonly pop out of chests or certain boxes, then you can add them on to make the weapon more powerful like in primal but not completely changing the gun, that way you don't have a big chance of a Shotgun with a scope lol and can add what you want.

Medallions are way more balanced in zero build than build but they kind of throw of the gameplay compared to last season (in good and bad ways). I was in an endgame fight today and my opponent and I were far from each other and just trading shots for a long time. We both had a medallions and it took forever eventually storm chased the other guy out and I won the game, but my point is that the usually fast paced endgames of zero build are considerably slower down unless it’s a close range 1 on 1

This season looks great but if they reverted the movement then it would be even better

I love the new season, even if the animations can be a bit awkward at times. What they did wrong was going from OG to the most advanced season yet because now all the OG players are mad.

Need an option now on the main screen with the hundred other modes.. OG Fortnite . Maybe it could randomly choose any season chapter 1 etc. This new look and feel is getting realistic like cod mw etc. always loved Fortnite for the cartoony graphics paired with unrealistic gameplay

Looks great, the train and item's looks cool but I don't know if the "bullets have to go to the player" gonna work

I think theres a little too many AI's at every POI, and the medallions regen you too fast, i think there should be a bit of a cooldown on the medallion before it heals you, like 5-7 seconds without being hit. But other than that, its a pretty cool season

1. Fix movement like it was before 2. Nerf medallions or them take a weapon slot Other than that it’s a great season

This update is simply badass. Even my roommate who doesn’t like shooters much is loving the new season as well

Im excited for the wall running and im poving the new weapons the bosses and storm are a major issue tho theres toi many bots during the battles make them last longer and the instant resheild is adding more time on top of rhat the storm closes on you in like a minute during the fight so there is no time to think

New season is great but the only downside is the movement

all guns are just amazing now. what made OG fortnite so good was how hard it was to get gold guns and how much better those gold guns were

Chapter 5 looks pretty cool, but some of the movement I’ve seen makes me want to go to Lego Fortnite and chill in there. That’s what I’m hyped for.

The only people that would really be complaining about the movements are the sweaty builders, in my opinion, they can't build huge towers anymore when they're shot lol.

Anybody else not really like attachments? I haven’t gotten the chance to play it yet, but I just feel like what makes Fortnite so much fun is how simple it was. And with attachments in we are never going to get any old guns back ever again

I suspected this was going to be a decisive season. I think that's why they did OG, they needed their playerbase to return.

W season, the only problem is the movement, I hope they change it, even though they probably won't Overall this season's awesome

People just don’t like change sometimes, personally my only issue is the riot shields. The guard breaks are definitely going to need to be scaled down a lot. Once ur broken your immobilized and guaranteed to die

Logged in for a couple games, I’ve non stop played since season 3 of chapter 1. This game is vastly different now. I’m okay with the movement and even maybe the attachments but my concern was the medals and attachments already attached. I’ll get used to the attachments on spawn but the medals have to get nerfed or removed. On builds people will just camp to heal off. This is a huge issue especially if they corner u inside a storm with them healing up Everytime. Imagine an infinite slurp juice in effect but stronger.

i've hated fortnite for YEARS, ever since season 7, because of the comunity and tryhards, but now... i see that they actually made a good update that i can actually enjoy, the game's fun now.

An awesome idea for fortnite would be to make a mode where you can relive the past events (ie. celeb collabs, story events etc) and keep adding new ones as they come for new season/chapters and events , would be awesome because a majority of my bro's couldn't even witness the event yesterday and the ones who couldn't see it were pissed off😂, i gave them my footage to check it out tho, it was a chilled event, not amazing or anything like that, but it was supper chilled and better than fractured atleast😅, and all these new items we got with it seem awesome no doubt about those updates and the wall maneuvering, seems awesome too

Make the view and feel back to the same, make it so you can choose what attachment you wants or find them and put them on. Keep shields and stuff the same concept but make it so you CANT stack it if its still healing you.

Fortnite does not need this many mechanics, the building and editing system is already one of the most depth filled mechanics of any video game ever, Every game is different because of the battle royale nature and moving zone and creative mode is always there for those who somehow get bored. All these new gimmicks feel out of place and overwhelming, this is why we cant have nice things, we get og fortnite for a month, fortnite see the players and cash rolling in and now we have to stare at Peter Griffin in fortnite because what? Epic games' wallet wasnt filled enough?

In my opinion we were so simple for 1 month straight and now I feel like we are moving to fast the game got too complicated too quick and I just feel like we could have slowly introduced some of these new changes

I think that these are good changes but the bullet travel might take a while to get used to.

the map looks amazing imp, the right size with some great looking locations. The loot is fine, i just don’t know if it’s gonna be overcomplicated with the addons. However the movement is just awful, to the point that it makes just “”running”” around really terrible

They have to remove the shield and gun combo or nerf it because those things are broken and completely remove any risk of actually moving especially in no build modes, you get into a close quarters fight against a good player with one of those and its GG. Also idk who's idea it was to only put weapon mod benches in vaults but it wasn't a very good one. All the guns feel the same and very boring compared to the variety we had in OG, attachments don't change that much and they don't make the weapons feel different or unique from all the other versions.

To be forced off OG fortnite and now to go back to this is such a bitter taste.

This looks so dope. One thing I love doing in Fortnite is a no weapons challenge but I could still use throwables that was clingers are really nice and they have shockwave grenades which is still cool.

I must be the only one who absolutely loves this season 😭

This season looks great overall. But I’m really gonna miss og fortnite. Fortnite was better when there was no mechanics.

Guys, remember that this is the FIRST DAY of the chapter. like the first day of every other chapter, There's probably going to be a ton of bugs and unbalanced things that will change in the future.

i think if it wasnt obvious, movement was changed to accommodate lego fortnite, the stiff movement is literally the only way the build and movement animation would work with lego without creating a whole new game (somehow they still did)

They need to make it to where you could choose which map you can play on throughout all the seasons it would really help the game and keep everyone happy.

I love the update as a person who has been playing since 2017, however the movement is ridicilous. My first two games I died due to fall damage because I kept getting confused while building. It feels like im moving way slower than before which ruins my pace when it comes to building. Hope they change this

A good thing to do is actively dropping your medallion during end game rotation as you won’t show on the map.

I definitely understand the comments saying they prefer fortnite when it’s simpler. I actually agree to an extent. That being said, if we had the OG game for the entirety of Fortnite’s existence, people would would inevitably get tired of it. Even if they continued updating OG fortnite without the new chapter system, the game would eventually reach a critical mass where it would become just as convoluted as people seem to think it is now. Additionally, while I agree that trying to do too many things at once is not always the way to improve a game, the issue with modern fortnite tends to lean harder towards balancing than over saturation (new heals and medallions for example. good ideas brought down by how frustratingly broken they are)- if all of the things they added were all given the right amount of time to bake before being pushed out, they would feel a lot less overturned and make the game generally a whole lot more playable

Hopefully the attachments add depth rather than being a hollow mechanic, but it seems like the weapons are pretty in-depth now. Love the QOL changes when it comes to general gameplay though. I’ve not been excited for this game in years.

I’m done with this season. I was so excited for it and I honestly think it could’ve been a good season, I truly think that it could be, they just need to fix movement mechanics and i think it could still be fun

I dont like the new base movement being so slow, I feel box fights will become the meta for building and making the divide between casual and pros even larger building isn't as quick anymor.

People complaining about it being too complicated is ironic as we just had a whole month of a season where they brought the original map back as simple as it could get
