I really would love to see Heavy D, Dave and the whole crew go up and help Alan get the fortress to where Alan can at least stay at the fortress and allow him to finish up the fine touches himself.
That's not gonna be easy... he needs to get a lift of some sort to transport big chunks of cargo up to the fortress, and he needs to get water running there, and last time i checked, water doesnt like to flow upwards.
It's probably a time issue. Everyone has their own stuff going on. I do have to say, I enjoy the videos of his fortress. Not a fan of the machinery, etc. This video seemed he was on just to ask for donations. Not a fan of that either.
@@yinyangforyou Where did Alan ask for donations? I watched the entire video and I didnt hear him ask for donations. I heard him explain that any money from youtube or Patreon went directly to the fortress, but not once did I hear him go " send me money". I personally dont care about what the content of each vid is, because I learn something in each video.

If you would have spent your time working on the fortress instead of going on rescues with Sparks, you would have been further along by now. Winter and war won't wait for you to finish. Sparks has enough guys to help. Priorities my friend.
@@MacGyver2154 I don't think Alan is lacking in his social game and he may be happy on the recovery team but all that time on the recoveries he is getting Zero done on his fortress. Do you think he is a social misfit? Seems fine. Like I said priorities. He has a limited window to do the work. Instead of being gone on weekends with Sparks put the time in at the Fortress. That's all I'm saying.
Keep it up man! I'm a disabled veteran and completely understand why you want to expedite your progress on the structure. They are already trying to pull me and others back into service.

If you subtract your age from 75, this is how much time you have to finish your fortress. Young people don't realize that things change with age, and suddenly, things are harder to start, continue, and finish. You are amazing, Alan, but the age has its limits. Plan accordingly as you still have a gigantic work ahead of you. Godspeed!
Getting there. Get you a lot of material up there and then big D can fly you up there this winter. I think your right about needing it operational soon.
You need to work out a deal with Dave to get him to bring up your Concrete pallets with his Blackhawk. You can get it placed right on the roof, and he gets the flight time & experience. >Grin

Say Alan… why haven’t you drilled a water well?? There must be a lot of water in the snowmelt coming off the adjacent slopes!! Have you done a Perk Test to see how much water you can draw there?? And tested it for anything that can be run through an R.O. System to make potable; or at least use for mixing concrete, bathing, gardening, etc?? There must be at least one huge aquifer there, several smaller ones, or perhaps even an underground river or stream!! I applaud you for all your hard work and dedication to this project, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the realisation of your dream!! Cheers Alan!!

Today was GREAT weather. It was in the high 60's on the other side of the hill (east of you). I don't know how you're going to make that place livable any time soon... you basically just have a building shell. No kitchen. No bathrooms. No power. No source of water. No heat. Even if you get power, there's still a long way to go before anyone could live there.
Alan you could ask for help. No shame in that. Your a hard worker and I enjoy watching you make progress. Have you been to Bishops castle in Colorado? He built it all by himself. I got to see this amazing place.

I'm seeing you are the highest point for miles around. Wouldn't it be prudent to start thinking about lightning protection? One good CG lightning strike to those rebar rods on top there or to the cinder block wall could easily blow out a sizeable chunk of the wall. An average non CG bolt could easily damage your electrical infrastructure.Once you get those turbines installed you will want lightning protection because lightning discharges really love electrical lines as they are the path of least resistance. Get a "fuzzy wire" lightning dissapator to help bleed off the charge. They use them on top of radio antennas to help bleed off the electrical buildup.
Hi Alan, from the UK. love watching the progress on the Fortress. Hearing your concerns and wanting to complete the build as soon as possible, have you considered selling the majority of the vehicles and equipment you have, and won't need, to fund it. Perhaps Heavy D and guys could help you have a big push forward with the build. Also be fantastic content for both of your channels. Life's to short, not to make sacrifices to achieve your dream. Glad to hear that you are going to focus on getting the fortress operational. While interesting as all hell to watch the build, it will be nice to see its “purpose” as well. (Couldn’t think of a better way to phrase that). If a view helps pay for a bag of concrete, he ya go.
