Nice job!! Great to see this installation, it is a good reminder that compound angles are hard to visualize and fitting within conflicting installation requirements are always a challenge. Must be a huge relief to have that tsk behind you. Thank you for sharing this video.
Thanks for posting this project. I'm assuming that you will barrier coat the sanded back portion of the hull surrounding the sonar unit prior to applying bottom paint. This is a challenging install. Congrats on the task being completed.
How satisfied are you with the operation of the forward looking sonar? Garmin has similar product but sensor failed within 1 month of launch. To replace is $1400. I’m considering just replacing with traditional CHIRP transducer
Thanks for commenting.....to answer your question, I am very satisfied with the functionality of it, and especially peace of mind during shallow passages and anchoring. Installation was a bit challenging due to the position of the boat on the hard, but with a little deep thought about the process, the install went well.
Hi, I am about to install my forward scan in hole of the old transducer. In other words I am getting rid of my old transducer.is it stupid? Is forward scan trouble free?
without seeing what you are working with it is hard to say. assess obstruction free placement and follow the installation instructions to see if your existing hole can be used, or if you will have some extra work to do. I am very happy so far with the performance of the sensor. Good luck and thanks for watching. Please subscribe if you haven’t already 💪🏻⚓️🫡
