Forza Horizon 4 vs Forza Horizon 5 - Graphics & Sound Comparison 

Which one do you Prefer? FH4 or FH5

Not only does fh5 car sounds sound better but you can also hear the environment now, every lamppost you pass makes a swoosh noise, the car is still on if you’re sitting idly. The noise feels like it’s coming from 360 degrees.

I wish more car games focused on engine and exhaust sounds. I want to hear the difference when you put an air filter and a massive exhaust on a WRX. Not one single game has gotten the true WRX warble right. Or the low rumble of a V8. Sound is 50% of the experience

The graphics in FH4 had a more realistic feel to them. FH5 seems a bit "cartoony", I don't know how else to explain it. I will say the light reflections and stuff are much better in FH5. There's also a lot of downgrades in terms of gameplay in FH5.

I haven't played Forza horizon 4 in almost 2 years and I couldn't tell the difference between them until I watched this.

To me it’s all about the immersive engine sounds in FH5. Especially onboard.

horizon 5 my only issue with it is that seasons all look exactly the same except in winter you get a bit of snow on the volcano, it gets boring fast as the color palette pretty much never changes unlike horizon 4 which differed massively in vibe throughout seasons

FH4 footage - lower graphic settings, no visual changes in photo mode FH5 footage - higher graphic settings, contrast, vignette and other settings modified. Nice unbiased comparison.

Think I'll stick with 4, just has a better atmosphere in general, and I don't really care for Mexico as a setting. Plus 5 is like 90% reused assets, yet still AAA price.

Definitely needs more than 2x MSAA at 1080p to remove the jagged edges

Honestly, FH4 looks more like real life, comparing to FH5, yes, I know, really good graphics, but the amount of reflections in FH5 make it look like a game, FH4 looks more... real.

I know it’s still early and it hasn’t got much to do with the video but FH4 (as of currently) has a VASTLY superior online mode. It puts you in a server, no lag, players come in and out often. FH5 glitches out and sometimes even being in a convoy is bad. But it’s surprising how fast they’re trying to fix all of this in FH5

Forza horizon 5 has more light, orange temperature and more shinier but FH4 looks more realistic

Both are nice and pretty impressive results ☺️ and I think you should make your second channel call Forza Horizon 45

Forza h4 has extremely good graphics but not on the level of forza h5

Played about 6hrs of FH5 and at no point as it wowed me like FH4. FH4 is photo realistic and FH5 reminds me that am still playing a video game.

Every graphic comparison video need to have a side-by-side comparison, showing one e then other makes the video bad man.

low streaming bandwidth killed the experience of fh5 for me, no matter the settings the game stops loading textures near cities/villages until it freezes and then loads them. while fh4 was running smoothly

FH5 still needs a little more updates you can see some parts not finished

The color palate is different in both the games. Forza 4 looked a bit more natural and realistic, forza 5 tho is a bit yellowish more on the eyecandy side

i've never been to the uk but the feeling fh4 gives off in the different seasons is absolutely incredible, so warm and nice. fh5 is slightly better gameplay wise but both are great.

Finally shifted from mobile data to fiber now i can enjoy A89 videos all the time at HD

Forza 5 is amazing, game pass is amazing, I'm sooooooo keeeeeen to see what the next forza will be considering this is still cross gen, it's so impressive how they scaled this game. Best racing game of the year ? Yep.

After playing it at 4k with extreme graphics getting around 100fps. I would say I'm not as impressed as I thought I would be. It looks great, don't get me wrong. But the world feels lifeless and something about the cars feel static and stale. And the fov even at max for the interior views seems so claustrophobic. But few games have absolutely wowed me in the past 5 or so years.

Forza 4 all the way I just don’t get on with 5 I love the feel going down the motorway and though the country roads in a classic mini 👍🏼

In my opinion, Forza Horizon 4 is better than Forza Horizon 5. I say this because I do not like the setting being in Mexico mostly because I liked going to Edinburgh, doing the missions next to the fantastic graphics and scenery.

This is a well put together video. HOWEVER I would like to see FH4 put up beside the xbox one version of FH5 since most people will be playing there due to console shortages.

I hope FH6 will be set in „normal” country where you can actually see the difference between summer and winter. It’s the only thing that I don’t like in FH5.

Honestly didn't think the graphics could get better after FH4, boy was I wrong.

Not sure if it matters because my PC can't run any of them.

I hope that vignette effect for FH5 isn't in the actual game.

Being a need for speed veteran, I wanted to try something new cause the new installments are not that great and i left the hope behind for them getting any better for the time being... What's scary is that, we might not know if this is their limit or they could go beyond and make FH6

At the moment, FH4 is superior for many reasons, most of which I would assume in time will be ironed out. FH5 is a crashing, buggy, low res blotchy mess that I cannot even make a convoy to enjoy the game with my friends. FH5 is literally a dust bowl with cactus's everywhere, the textures are hit and miss, sometimes they render, sometimes they don't, but even at there full potential, it is still a brown, dusty sandy nothingness with little patches of hobbled together structures to make it appear something lives/works there, the life that is prominent, the trees, in FH5 are awful with little deviation from one another. The small jungle section is literally as the saying goes, "can't see the forest for the trees". They are again, blotchy and obtrusive, and having events in these locations makes them "extra fun".. sarcasm. I remember seeing the trailer showing the bridge's and seeing all sorts of cars and traffic.... in reality INGAME, its again... nothing, this game almost feels as if no soul was put into it. FH4 actually made you think there was people around, the city was hustle and bustle, always something going on, and even on the freeways, dead of night, you saw those few random cars and your imagination could take it from there as to what "they" were doing out. FH4 made you live in that world, you felt like you were a part of it. IMO, FH5 feels more like I was dropped out a plane and said here, make something of this. Oh wait... I was... and I want to go home lol. I'm not writing it off, but am glad I got it on gamepass.

I don't know why people keep on moaning FH4 is the worst Forza despite being one of the best racing game of 2018. Probably some of the car engine sound were kind of inaccurate or hate for the weather system.

FH4 is a better game in every single way except graphics. Better seasons, better map, better challenges, better online.

Is there a difference in frame rate?

Its great game..., what is a problem for people who saying 4 looks better is that in 4 we mostly play on extreme graphic settings in 4k so it's perfect Anty-aliasing etc. 5 it's superior but if U play on medium setting and lower that 4k resolution it may look worst. I plying both on X and Gaming PC and see that on my own eyes. For sure aliasing it's worst in 5 (See front of the car window area from 2:00 4vs5) It has to be fixed. As well no night shadows on XsX it's not acceptable (we have them only in quality free drive)

The lighting, details, textures and omg I can't forget car sounds are soo much better than in FH4 even it was a good game but FH5 is true good successor.

They even forgot to include the facelift model of the cars. All the BMW's for example has the outdated 2013/2014 lights despite the game was released in 2021....

Fh5 is a step up with graphics just everything is on another level like all the textures i actually have a rendering problem but it is because i have a xbox one s but even the sounds sound much more like real life on fh5.

I don't see a huge difference graphics wise, at least at 1080 resolution. The car sounds do seem to have a lot more weight to them though.

honestly i couldn't tell you the difference from 4. they look pretty much the same. except 5 has turned down the brightness a little. maybe there there are much better differenced from minute 6 onward.

Forza Horizon 4 is WAY better optimized on PC than 5. Four runs butter smooth while 5 stutters. In the town in 4 not any issues and above 60fps at 4k , in the town in 5 and it stutters and runs like crap and won't even touch 60fps at 4k. I know , I have both on PC.and that how both run on the same hardware. 10700k and gtx 1080 ti.

I’m glad I wasn’t crazy when I said that in some ways….fh5 is smaller. Not only that but it’s a huge down grade and I honestly miss having car meets in the uk with all that beautiful night lights and rain and realistic reflections. But no fanboys find a way to fuck up everything lol

Lighting, shadows and reflections are the biggest change imo. It's the first thing i notice going to 5 from 4 or vise versa. Honestly thats gonna be the biggest difference from current gen to next gen in games. There's isn't much more to improve on. I think developers for new games should start working on additional features for their new games. For instance the next gta. They can add. more immersion like gas and gas stations for example. Maybe a speedometer, more house customization and more things little things that add to the immersion since we're reaching a limit on graphics.
