Fosi Audio BT20A Pro amplifier review

This is a short review of Fosi Audio BT20A Pro TPA3255 based amplifier.
It was supposed to be revealed yesterday, but I got it from Ali 2 weeks ago.
It had been burned-in for 3,5 day and then I've spent some time doing critical listening.
I've replaced stock NE5532 with set of double OPA627 that I had in my stash.
(NE5532 is your base opamp, but you can do so much better with others).
Randy (CheapAudioMan) have done also a review of this one, mind though that you need two pieces of double channel opamps for rolling - he talks about 2 pieces of single channel opamps but thats a mistake.
Anyway, this one stays with me, for the moment this is the best cheap ChiFi that I've heard (mind though that this is more than 3-4x cheaper than f.e. SMSL AO200).

Just got this fosi a few days ago and hooked it to my new Polk xt20 's , Really sounds great also hooked it to my Sonys and they sounded great too

Just came across this channel, very nice review ! How do you compare the size of the soundstage with Aoshida A6?

Thank you! About the same, both are wide. I'd say that Aoshida has a bit sharper image positioning, but Fosi is also great here. If I'd be scoring points for that then Aoshida would be 80/100 and Fosi 78/100 (100/100 being reserved for my Martin Logan and 851W setup). But Fosi wins when it comes to detail and transparency.

Thank you for kind words. Volume knob on my piece has no slack, no wobble or anything like that - feels solid and rotates smoothly

I heard the 48Volt and 10 Amp power supply really allow the amp to run full power, as opposed to the 32V and 5A power supply it comes with which limits its output power by almost half.

Yes, though 32x5 is plenty in my case (that's about 60W real continuous power per channel). I was experimenting with power supplies some time ago for my 3116 and MA12070 amps and I've realized that they have no influence on sound quality. Just more raw power. With my speakers BT20A Pro gets very loud (for me) with volume pot sitting around 10 o'clock.

Hi! Yes, it is, it can be used to connect powered subwoofer.

@@k4syx thanks for the quick response friend. I had ordered Aiyima A04 and Fosi Audio V3 both had aux out / pre out but was fixed line so increasing or decreasing the volume in the amplifier made no change in the connected subwoofer. So had to return both.

I just got one. I got the 40 something volt power supply. its not much louder than my other Fosi with a 32 volt power supply. Question - the volume knob on my new BT20A has a lot of play in it - sideways and up and down - are others finding that to be the case ? I know you press the volume knob in to kill the blue tooth connection, but its wiggly turning the volume up and down. feels very low end. sound excellent with this unit

Mine is not rock solid, but it's not wiggly in normal use. About the same as bass and treble knobs.

Sorry, no plans for it. I'm not affiliated with anyone so I'm doing reviews for the stuff that I buy for myself. I have Aiyima A07 Pro that has been delivered last week to review and compare with Fosi BT20A Pro and that would be all for now with TPA3255.

I just got mine too with 32V 5A power supply. Very clean sound. But driving 8ohm speakers does not sound loud, could it due to d 32v power supply?

Define loud ;) Wharfedales are also 8ohms and I had no problem with low volume. 10 o'clock was way more than enough. 48V power supply will give more juice, but AFAIR max TPA3255 rail voltage is 50V, so a tad bit to close for my comfort. 36x5=180VA, that's good enough for me.

@@truckman7123 yes I can, there is a possibility that my phone mic will adjust gain to avoid cutting out. I'll try to do that tomorrow as it's 9pm here - not the best time to check for volume limits...

Hi there, what about the sound for listen metal? Firm traditional heavy metal to modern one?

I think it should be fine for metal, it's fast and has good detail for guitars. I have just a few metal tracks in my collection and I want testing them specifically.
