The idea of Joe Wildwest setting up a side attraction to beat up ZZ's corpse is his own form of therapy.

I remember having so much trouble with the Zongazonga fight (the one where he's in Joe's body, not the final fight) as a kid that I did the sidequest where you have to stop the egg timer at 10 seconds to get a miraculous fossil rock, and only after I super-evolved my brachio could I beat him. LIterally screamed "YES" out loud when I finally did lmfao

This was the one game I’ve played probably more time than my age will ever be😭 love this even more than most of the Pokémon games

Funny enough, there's unused data that suggests that there was supposed to be a Battle against the previous protagonist. The battle theme is coded next to Dynal's battle theme, but not given a proper name. So it was probably cut early enough where it wasn't truly done, but late enough to have a full score.

Good review so far. :) I just wanted to comment and point out that there were *very* subtle hints to ZZ being Joe, at the beginning of the game, Stella tells you after Joe makes an announcement for the cup that she didn't tell anyone his plans to give away the island, ZZ's accent is also *extreme* compared to Joe. I feel like Don/Joe's side was fairly weak, but those are just little details I think are interesting

I’m only a few minutes into the review, so I don’t know if you addressed this, but the desert was actually supposed to have a dlc area- it’s more of the same really, a large flat room but with a wall of flowing sand in one side. It was accessed by the community via teleportation cheats. Missing and rare fossils can be found in this lost map area. A similar area was made for the seafloor cavern, allowing you to come back to it and find the rare fossils that you can dig there, it’s fitted with a VMM as well.

Kinda of a late comment, but the reason Busterprobes don’t work on Giant and Curious Fossil Rocks is because there aren’t any buster points on them, hence why the probes always fail. Not every normal fossil has buster points either; it was deduced by the Fossil Fighters community which fossils do and don’t have buster points, and it all seems very random. You’re 100% right that this was done to incentivize group fossil cleaning, but it still seems so strange to me that they wouldn’t include helpful buster points at least during single player cleaning.

O-Raptor Fiend is my main go to Super Evovler! I still remember I gave it the Super Evovler back when I was a kid it was so exciting!

Idk how controversial it is to say this, but as a massive fan of both franchises, FFC is better than a majority of Pokémon releases. And I’m not just talking about the lesser entries or the older, more outdated ones. I legit believe it goes toe-to-toe with some of the best Pokemon games out there. Amazing video series so far, can’t wait to watch part 3!

Banger video! Fossil Fighters Champions is goated and I'm so happy to see people talking about the series recently. HOWEVER I'm disappointed that you didn't include the Rainbow Canyon (Blue-Sky Quena) theme in the music section!

There IS actually a way to access the DLC, but it requires changing something in your DS itself to access it. I found a video on it a while ago and it still works. Would recommend another to take the fall though.

I have the dlc from way back in the day and yes I still have the game, it’s a nice add on, and probably the best part of is how they tie in the first game! I love this series (yes even frontiers) and I’m really hoping for a remake on switch

In defense of Dusty Dunes and Seabed Cavern, it's been recently discovered that there is/was unreleased Bonus Data that let you access a new area and revisit the areas.

11:40 there is a way to decide what type of silver fossil rock you get. Use a mask and the pay to dig sites. There is a mask and site for each body part.
