Well guys it seems that RU-vid has messed up a few of the visual gags in this video for some reasion. I'm not sure what happened, but I think this issue was probably on Premieres end. I had exported the video twice and the first one came with no issues so I'm not sure what happened the second time. But I didnt check it throughly as I should've of. Also I noticed that there is no time code for y'all to skip spoilers, thats not on Adobe. That one was defiently on me and I apologize! Here is the Time Code for those who wish to skip spoilers: 55:47 As this video has already been out for so long I feel like I can't really just delete it and try again, so I do apologize for how crummy some parts of this video ended up being! I do still plan I making a big combined video for Fossil Fighters so I will fix these little issues then. Again seriously I didnt even realize these issue exsisted til about a week later. Watching a video a few 1000s times over can be quite draining and that somtimes lets mistakes like these slip through the cracks. Especially for a video of this size! Thank You though for all of you who still managed to enjoy this video anyway........and sorry that I pointed it out too the people who now, like me, wont be able to unsee them......

Ive played all of them soon after they were released. And since then ive played the stories for the Original and Champions through many times over the years. Meanwhile Frontier is the only one I didnt bother playing again after I beat the story and I think that says volumes for how I and many others felt about it.

So this was your first Introduction series? Ow. It's the equivalent of being introduced to Sonic Via Sonic Boom.
@Chubby_Bubby
@Chubby_Bubby Год назад
Frontier is a lot easier to love when it’s the only fossil fighters your aware of! But honestly I do have to atleast thank it for introducing me to the rest of series as I had genuinely never heard of it til I saw frontiers in that one direct all those years ago!

I finally got around to finishing this one, and while I don't exactly see eye-to-eye with you on certain aspects, I agree with a lot of points you made. I really enjoyed this series of retrospectives, and I had a really fun time with them!

Hey thanks I’m really glad you enjoyed it since I worked super hard on this project! Just curious but was it the buggies that you disagree with?
@Pinnaporaptor
@Pinnaporaptor Год назад
@@Chubby_Bubby I actually had a decently fun time with the buggies! It was actually the cleaning itself, and an issue with the digsites/how FF:F handles fossils. I don't particularly have a problem with cleaning on site, the issue is that the rocks aren't randomised, which I found to be a bit odd personally. I don't how to describe what exactly bothered me about it, but something about it wasn't exactly right. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind changes here and there, but I think the cleaning system in this one was a bit of a miss. I guess my biggest issue would be the rock layers? You really don't know where to use what tool for the job. Though take what I'm about to say with a little bit of a different perspective, as I played with a keyboard and a drawing tablet on a laptop with Citra on it.
@Chubby_Bubby
@Chubby_Bubby Год назад
@@Pinnaporaptor Yeah I can defiently see what you mean about the digging feeling off. The fossils not being randomized was somthing that I noticed while playing but I can't say it ever really bothered me, though that be the trauma from those igua fossils in champions talking. And like I said in the video Frontier was my first so thats probably why stuff like that didnt bother me as much. I really tried to take that into account while writing this cause I had to look at frontier as both a sequel to champions and that neat Dinosaur game from my childhood.
@geistgrace6452
@geistgrace6452 Год назад
Actually, Regarding the Final boss Vivosaurs not being in Champions, they WERE meant to, according to some data for a unused DLC event where you'd receive 3 Vivosaurs at one time. They share data with legendary Vivosaurs too, sonitbwas most likely those Vivosaurs that were meant to be, but got cut late into development, similar to the scraped Dig site locations.

I actually like the Frontier type chart more. I think Fire beating Air makes more sense than Earth (It's not grass) as Wind spreads Fire, Fire consumes oxygen. Earth and Water can always go either way. You can argue Water erodes Earth, but you can also argue Earth absorbs Water.
@b_megamaths
@b_megamaths 11 месяцев назад
I always remembered the original type chart as "fire scorches earth." For the relationships between air and water/earth, I always just remembered that water is swept away by wind and earth isn't.

I have genuinely loved all 3 retrospectives you made on this franchise, splitting it into 3 parts instead of one massive movie was a smart idea. You also put much more detail and editing that kept my attention throughout. If it was not for the nostalgia I had for these games I might not have found these hidden gems, but words couldn't describe how happy I am that I did! I hope these grow so more people can be brought into the fanbase and maybe get a game for the switch in the future. Once again, great job!
@Chubby_Bubby
@Chubby_Bubby Год назад
Thank You so much for saying all that, I really did try to do something interesting with this series and I’m glad so many people enjoyed it! I really took my editing to the next level though I’m Still not sure why some of the edits got slowed down or didn’t play properly in this video. But otherwise I really improved my skills and I hope to get better and better with each video I make. Again thank you for sharing! Hopefully we’ll get something new from this amazing series 🦖

You need more viewers man. Watched & liked all three vids and was super impressed. Funny and nostalgic all the way with great edits and points about the games. Nice to see someone make vids about these awesome gems. Keep it up. Just an idea, I’d love to watch a retrospective walkthrough of these games. You could even make them challenge walkthroughs where you only use one element for the majority or something. Just sayin, I’d watch for sure.
@Chubby_Bubby
@Chubby_Bubby Год назад
Well first thank you I really appreciate that you enjoyed the videos! I worked hard on them and I was happy to make them after enjoying those games for so long! Second I do like that idea, I think it could be fun to do something like that in maybe a live stream type of thing. My only issue that I feel like a lot of my memories or opinions on these games really wouldn't really fill out a full playthrough outside of like a mention of what I thought of this or that which is kind of what I've done with these videos. I'm a little too busy right now working on my other projects, but you know I wouldn't mind one day doing a challenge run on these games as like a casual stream thing. I really like your idea its just I'm not sure how well it would fit with my style of content. Though Thank You for the suggestion I greatly appreciate when people give me them as it helps me think of ideas I wouldn't have considered before and I appreciate that you and others take the time to write them out as that shows me just how much you enjoyed my videos. And it makes the process of creation that much easier when I know people enjoy what I make its amazing!

@alecchournos1586 Год назад
@@Chubby_Bubby For sure! No worries, as a new viewer I’m not familiar with your style of creating, so you do you! I had a great time with the videos! Maybe a different suggestion to the same idea would be a new mini series you could stream called “Retro Replays” where you play either older games or your favorites and give yourself a challenge to complete them as a more chill side project thing. Later you could edit the streams into videos. Fossil Fighters could be among those. Maybe still not your style, but just another idea I wanted to spitball. Thanks for responding! It’s cool to see my comments don’t go unnoticed! Keep up the great work!

I have a friend like you, who played Frintier first and, as of this writing, hasn't played the DS games. I sent him this video so he can see why the Fossil Fighters fandom dislikes this game since he hadn't heard about the negative reception.

Really awesome retrospective on the series as a hole. I never played these games even if I have the second one, but it was very interesting to see someone takes on them seeing as this serie has been pretty much dead and nobody really talk about it anymore.

Hey thanks I appreciate it! It kind of sad that this was one of the series that was just kind of left behind by Nintendo over the years I think it’s got a lot of potential. But this is the same company that won’t make a new installment for a lot of thier more popular series so it’s hard to say if Fossil Fighter can come back…
@Blue-dy2mr
@Blue-dy2mr Год назад
It would be cooler to ride vivosaurs themselves instead of cars. On one hand I do agree that it's more convenient to be able to just clean the fossils then and there, but on the other I feel like it would also get kind of boring to clean ever single fossil you dug up. Been a very long time since I played frontiers so I can't remember if you can abandon a fossil or not, but I do like the anticipation you get when you dig up a new fossil rock and don't know what it is until you can clean it, whereas frontier just tells you right out the gate. I don't think the writing in frontier is quite as good as the first two, mainly because I like the wackiness of the first two, and it felt like frontier tried to replicate that but couldn't quite get it. You can tell they were trying in this game, but I just don't feel like they quite understood how the others worked as well as they did. That could just be me, though, because I'm quite fond of "then John was a zombie" humor, and by that I mean the idols secretly being sentient beings planted by an alien race to take over earth and having to fight a planet eating monster out of nowhere and having to beat the shit out of a literal necromancer wizard dinosaur who could steal bodies was very funny to me and was so out there I was incredibly hyped when it happened. I also feel like they didn't use pretty much any story beats in frontier very well. There was some of that in the first and champions, don't get me wrong, but frontier felt kind of rushed? Like, time travel and a scientist turning into a dragon was pretty cool, but it just kinda instantly popped up and then was resolved in a few seconds. Maybe it's because I was older when I played frontier that I don't like the story as much, but even on replays of all the games, frontier just doesn't hit the same. I don't know. I have a lot of mixed feelings about the game. I didn't hate it when I played it, but didn't particularly like it either. It felt like a lot of wasted potential and I'm sad that frontier is more than likely what a franchise with a lot of promise ended on. It'd be like if sword and shield were the last Pokemon games- they aren't terrible, and yeah the story could be kind of cool if it had more time to develop, but it isn't really good at anything it tries to do. Also as a side note, part of the best thing in fossil fighters was the amount of vivosaurs you could use that didn't play the exact same, and almost all of them were nice to look at. Frontier just made them all ugly, gave you a handful to use, and didn't bother to try and make them different at all. You can't really make a strategy with any of them, even if you could use more than one at a time. It always baffled me why they thought that would be a good idea. Anyway, all in all, it was a good video essay trilogy. It has the production of a much larger channel, and while I don't agree with everything you said, you explain yourself well enough that I can see where you're coming from. I'm excited to see what else you make.

Monster Hunter Stories proved you can still do the different skill set types, just have the different vivosaur builds be good at different things. Heck, maybe have the standard ones have a mobile lab, and that’s their field act

I feel like the buggy controversy could’ve been avoided if they just used the vivosaurs as the vehicles, and have a mobile lab in your transport to explain why you can revive on the fly. You can even pull a Monster Hunter Stories and have the different vivosaur types be good at certain field moves, like the raptors having better jumps, etc

Honestly I can see a FF4 where you have the option to walk or drive a bone buggy (though the latter would probably come a little later as the game progresses). Only concern I have is, if this were released on switch, how we could handle cleaning, since the switch doesn’t have a stylus and I dunno atm if it has a mic to blow into (for dust while cleaning), seeing as how the OG games took full advantage of DS hardware.
@novastar3547
@novastar3547 Год назад
with the ds games you could spam L or R to blow dust off if your mic was busted, so it would probably be just like that
