1974 Chevrolet K5 Blazer
Auction ends this Thursday, July 30 at 12:50pm CST
Bring-A-Trailer Auction RESULTS: bringatrailer....
1 owner since new with 14,664 actual miles.
Special ordered bought and delivered from Crossroads Chevrolet in North Hollywood California 8/27/1974 The Blazer was registered and resided in Sacramento California until 1983. It was then moved to Las Vegas where it resided until 1990 when it was moved to the family estate in Montana. It was registered 12/90 and placed into a dry nice clean concrete floor Quonset hut with no windows where it remained until recently discovered.
Special ordered Cheyenne package, 4 speed manual transmission, numbers matching 350 4V, A/C, Tilt, Cruise, Rear seat, padded roll bar, 3.73 rear axle ratio, HD brakes, chrome grille, custom vinyl trim, exterior Sunset Gold, White full removable auxiliary hard top, some period modifications that are easily reversible.
* 43-gallon gas tank
* Alloy wheels
* Doug Thorley headers with side exhaust
* Weiand Intake
* Holley Carburetor
* Chrome air cleaner with k and n element
* Lights
* Tow hooks
* Brush guard
* Tow kit front and rear prior owner used the blazer to maneuver trailers and airplanes
* Trailer Brakes
* Kenwood Stereo
* Realistic CB
* Dual A-pillar spotlights
* Fire extinguisher
* Floor mats
* Full size alloy spare
The overall condition is excellent, the undercarriage and chassis are outstanding, interior is outstanding, rust free original paint we hand washed it twice. We believe it has never been buffed or waxed, it is simply one of the finest, lowest mileage, full removable hardtop Blazers in existence.
Full Owner’s manual kit and clear Montana title, the Blazer runs and drives excellent the tires should be replaced due to age if next owner is going to use and drive. This Blazer is worthy of being in any collection. To restore one to this level would be very expensive.

Cameron Myers It’s next to impossible to find more than a handful of individuals on the planet that has the knowledge, the passion, the experience, etc for not just cars or automobiles but who actually has the same passion for learning everything they can about their career. And yes, it is very much to be admired. I don’t want to talk this way, but when we start losing these few people, this world will wake up one morning and find out what they have taken for granted all these years that they say on the sidelines and took the easy ride. What I would do or would have done, to work for Dennis and be the biggest sponge possible whenever he would be talking!! That would actually be priceless in my opinion. I hope all his techs thank the Lord every night they go home from a hard, hot day in his shop knowing they get to learn from arguably one of the smartest men in our history in the automotive arena!!

@@1982MCI you do understand he Google's the make and model and does research prior to presentation. First and foremost he is a salesman, to successfully sell a product you must know the product. Vehicles are just a way to make a living to him.
@1982MCI
@1982MCI 4 года назад
Redneck of course I understand that he will do some research depending upon the vehicle but Dennis is far more than a salesman, he actually has a passion for vehicles and has retained knowledge from a lifetime of researching and rebuilding and selling that he’s the one probly selling the info to google for the rest of the world to pull up. He doesn’t need to google many automobiles because it’s already been logged and stored in that head of his long before google was a thought in someone’s dream and I’m sure he has forgotten more about our domestic automobiles than google can ever have programmed into her. And vehicles are much more than just a way to make a living to him, they are his life and it just happens to have given him a very nice income that is well deserved. He is so much more than a used car salesmen, sorry

I found a 1976 K5 in 2005 here in Austria, with same options, like 4-speed-manual, cheyenne, etc., all original, 44k miles on it, one owner. It sat at in a backyard of a towing company for more than 10 years. Got a bit rust meanwhile, but it was in a quite restorable condition. Side by side, was another K5 with automatic drive, that has been used as for towing cartrailers. The owner wanted to get rid of it only sellling them together. I called a friend and we picked them up the next day. At that time I had a daily driver '78 K5 which had 36 (!) pre-owners and the body was in a pretty bad shape, when I got it, but it was running great. The idea was to find a better body to swap. But I kept the 76 original and sold it to a collector, when I had to close my garage.

When a vehicle of that age has 14k on it, it’s assumed the truck has 114k or 214k. The odometer only has 5 digits so it rolls back to zero at 99,999. By saying 14k actual miles, he’s telling the viewer that that the odometer hasn’t roller over.

It looks like an original 14,000 mile vehicle. When a speedometer rolls over past 100,000 miles the numbers usually don't line back up in a straight row, they're almost always not inline across them. He does have all the paper work documenting its history.

I'm something of a K5 expert and used an '88 for 20 years as a daily driver until the East Coast rust became uncontrollable despite my great care. This truck (with all the amazing period accessories I grew up seeing in my 1970s off road magazines), is my absolute wet dream, but it's unfortunate that these trucks, like Ford Broncos, have become priced out of reach for all but the wealthiest of dealers and flippers who really don't have a genuine love for maintaining and enjoying them.

My dad had a ‘74 Chevy C10 Cheyenne Super. That chrome trim around the instrument cluster was always coming off. He tried glues and tape, but finally just pulled it off. Cool truck!

LOVE those old square bodies! GM screwed up on the hoods by putting a dimple on each side underneath so they were GUARANTEED to buckle and bend in the middle of the hinges got dry. You had to keep them very well lubricated or go buy a new hood. It would be a sucker bet to say that NOTHING GM builds today could survive as long as this old classic has and be in even a remote way in as good a condition. Even those that have spent their entire lives working are far better than anything GM produces today. They are just REAL trucks.

I had one for 14 yrs. Daily driver. The underside body had supports to keep the main body from sagging when the roof was removed. It rotted out fast here in New England. Hard to fix too. Also like this one it had the new process 203 transfer case with a 4 speed manual. That combo was connected direct into each other. All the torque the full time setup made from the 203 ate the splines that connected the rear output shaft into the input shaft of the 203. Not good. Very bad combo on this truck. Very expensive to fix. Loved the truck thou. Had Fuely heads and mild cam.

Keep the truck for yourself Dennis. I once owned a 74 Chevy C10 Pickup with a matching bed cap and it had the convenient dual gas tanks. It was a big roomy truck, you could' not beat it for comfort. I used it mainly for camping and to pull a camper trailer. It had a 350 engine also, and the truck was never a problem. You could sit under the hood on the wheel-well and do an engine tuneup, actually I did all my own maintenance back then. They put too many optional gadgets crap in the dash these days, and you can't do your own work on them ... no room to do anything these modern vehicles. I like to be in a 74 Chevy Truck again.

Nice but had to see the price. Probably 3+ times what was paid for it ( including any work done to them ) it’s amazing the stuff you can find. Actually like this better than the Chevy 3500 quad cab.

Nice rig but I really don't like anything made in 1974.Growing up all the parents that go cars and trucks from that year had constant problems.Vapor lock ect .They all had to have motors rebuild around fifty thousand miles.I believe it was because of the emissions set ups.

people don't take this the wrong way but that sold for $85,000. This is absolutely ridiculous, There's no wonder I can't afford any of these trucks or cars. With that said good great looking Blazer and good for you for getting that much money
