That's a darn shame to hear about that. All while Eddie lines his pockets with millions of dollars in cash. The building could at least be saved and repurposed or reused. I know Big Lots loves using their stores.

WallieB26 exactly! And as we all know he had no appreciation for preserving the legacy of these stores or seeing them continue on as a retailer.😥

Unfortunately, this Kmart as well as Marietta and Tallmadge were the last three stores to close in the state. There is still one in Michigan to my understanding that is still open. Otherwise the nearest open ones I'm aware of are in eastern Pennsylvania.

@@WallieB26 Actually there's 1 Kmart in North Dakota (Minot) and 1 Kmart in Michigan (Marshall) that's part of the Midwest so technically there's two Kmarts left in the Midwest (with the exception of the one in Minnesota closing)

No sadly Ohio has no more Kmarts left there's 0 left in the state of Ohio and Illinois sadly lost their last Kmart store in Illinois the last Kmart in Illinois closed in Des Plaines Illinois

@@WallieB26 Thanks. I did notice the one south of Charleston off I-77 was still open when I drove to Florida a few months ago. I'll find a Kmart next time I head south as there appears to still be some down that way. Btw, I'm a grad student at the OSU business school and the "Fast Eddie" type stuff happens very often. For example, Bob Evans was bought out by a private equity firm a few years ago and they did a similar deal of selling the real estate then turning around and leasing it back to the restaurant operations. The frozen food business was sold to Post (the cereal company). You'd never know it as a customer, though. Look for some Bob Evans locations with slumping sales to close over time and be replaced with other restaurants. Cool videos though, subscribing
