I am 54 and my Mom is 81 and we both use powder! My Mom doesn’t do makeup without powder. She always carries a compact in her purse and so did my grandma. It was the first makeup to go on my face when I was little. I am just waiting on the Wayne Goss Powder Compact, hint hint. 😉 💗
This is a fave! It doesn't attract attention to dry patches or texture, but still has good staying power on the oiler t-zone. It also has a great shade selection 😊
I just found your concealer tutorial and came to this one. I use the Nars tinted moisturizer and now I want to try this foundation. You have a similar color to me, and it looks great on you! It’s so nice to see someone looking out for the 40+ crowd.
This is also one of my favorites for my over 40 skin! And I totally agree, after a certain age we have to make the choice between a flawless canvas or a more youthful one 😉

I am a big fan of the nars sheer glow foundation, it looks beautiful on the skin. Despite the myriad of foundations I have tried, the sheer glow continues to be a strong favorite. I believe Nars excel in peachy- neutral undertones especially for medium skin tones.

I'm 43 and love this foundation, I usually can't wear a full matte foundation so this is a beautiful medium natural finish that is flattering on skin with less elasticity, Thanks Wayne👌😘
I bought this foundation last week for the first time. I'm 52, and it looks lovely on my skin. I also put powder on, then setting spray, and powdered over it again. It lasted all day. It's a lovely foundation, and I will definitely purchase it again. Thanks for all your vlogs. I've learnt so many new things from yourself.
I just bought this because I happened to find it on sale and I am absolutely obsessed!! It looks so good on my skin, good coverage but not heavy or makeup-y, perfect amount of sheer glow 😉and my bronzer and blush layer really nicely on top. I could literally throw out all my other foundations and just use this one 😍
Agreed. This foundation is very pretty and easy to wear. Sometimes I sheer it out using a very light moisturiser - it becomes a beautiful "tinted moisturiser" and I really enjoy it in the warmer months (or three hot days if you live in the UK 😉). Much love Mr Goss 💜💜💚💜💜

I've moved onto the Light Reflecting foundation in Vienna...I did have a bottle of Sheer Glow in Deauville, but the colour was slightly too yellow and I just couldn't love the finish, too matte. The Light Reflecting has that lit from within glow on my 54 year old skin 😁
Yes, the Nars Light Reflecting foundation’s shades and undertones are off. I’m in one of the fairer shades, and the undertone is so pink. I need a more neutral undertone. I’m going to have to mix it with another foundation. It’s a pretty foundation though. Maybe I’ll mix it with the new Charlotte Tilbury foundation.
@@msmo2060 It doesn’t surprise me. I’m more neutral/cool. I heard many people say that the color differences in the Sheer Glow and Light Reflecting foundation is quite different. You can’t get the same shade that you wear in SG, in the LR foundation. You have to go lighter. That’s what I’ve seen anyway. I wonder why Nars couldn’t keep the shades the same? They should have warned people about the shade differences. Maybe they did, but I missed it. Hope you’re having a great day, and have a wonderful weekend.
Hi I tried sheer glow in deauville but found it slightly light but the same shade in light reflecting is perfect match. So I’m presuming maybe all of the shades would come up darker than the sheer glow shades.
Hi Wayne, purchased this today at TJMax for $14. I immediately looked up reviews and was glad to see yours. I so agree with your bonus tip, foundation does even out your skin but bare skin does look younger. Im 62 and have noticed this myself. You're right it's a pisser!! Damned if you do, damned if ya don't. Appreciate how you look out for the mature community👌

You are so right Wayne. I am 66 and it doesn't matter what technique or foundation I use my wrinkles look worse than my bare skin. Really am getting frustrated trying all the tricks and spending or wasting my money on foundations. I still love your videos.
Love this foundation demo. Wow; it looked really good when you smiled. I don't think it made the skin under the eyes look nearly as bad as you described. To my eyes, it didn't appear caked on or to accentuate smile lines/wrinkles.

I ordered your new brushes and my goodness, the finish I get now is priceless and saves me time. 🥰 I used to spend sooo much time filming my own videos bc the brushes I had were well...crap, and not yours! You really can't go wrong with ANYTHING NARS! But, no foundation or concealer in the world could truly erase what's going on under the eyes after a certain age...and that's ok. it still looks great! :)

Wayne, love... it looks fabulous on you ! The best way to get the best out of sheer glow foundation is to warm it in your hand with your fingertips and apply. No need for any beauty blender. Just my two pence ;) Love you very much !

Swear you get more Beautiful every upload. I agree about the eyes. I wear very little & try to barely touch the eyes. I've swapped bronzer for blusher it seems to wake my skin up more, still use lippy to brighten up my smile... Its all about looking fresh now, as opposed to piling on as much as possible@50+i feel less is more for me. Huge Love From Scotland ❤️
I thought it was just me who noticed how the eyes look after foundation and concealer. I’m 48 so I’ve learned( mostly through your videos) to use both products sparingly.

Lately I've been struggling to find a foundation that doesn't make me look older...well, guess it's time to stop my quest for that 'one' foundation and embrace my bare skin ;-) Btw: I'll never say goodbuy to blush...I just love color and the little pop and twist it can give
I’ve just turned 40 and have just started using this foundation for the first time as it was a birthday present. I love it and wish I’d bought it before! I’ve used many different products over the last decade but my skin has changed a lot in the last couple of years and I’m very conscious of my eye lines and dark spots and larger pores. I think this is a beautiful foundation and works really well on my skin.
Great point right at the end! The older I get, the less foundation I use… I think skin tints / tinted moisturiser- type products look better on significantly mature skin even if they provide less coverage. It’s a case, where really less, is more 😉
From one Gen Xer to another… The older you get the drier the skin. I always put coconut oil on my skin as a “primer” and use an SPF tinted moisturizer for foundation. It gives the skin a more youthful, dewy finish as the skin slowly absorbs the oil. Then I pat a bit of powder on to set. Works every time and the skin looks natural yet even.
@Jabeye what setting powder do you use because I'm of age to and I don't want my skin to look dryer I have really dry skin that's why I love this Foundation I'm just trying to find a powder
I truly love your videos and always learn something from them. I felt I needed to comment on the Nars brand. Nars is a product I have used and enjoyed. However, once I discovered that their products are tested on animals I will no longer consider using them again. Plenty of quality products on the market that do not test on animals.
As a 45 year old rosacea patient, I found this information invaluable! I love you adding the blusher on top, I’d look like a corpse if my skin had all the redness removed. Thank you for this, and the end bit about the skin looking older with any makeup. Sometimes bare is better 😁
I think this may be Fiji. Not entirely sure but looks like it. There is another video trying out this colour if you search it. Fiji is supposed to be a light medium with warm undertones according to Nars website. I have a light skin with yellowish undertones. The person reviewing it on the other video uses same shade of No 7 foundation to me (a neutral shade), and Fiji looks good on her. It looks to have some yellow tones and have seen this in a comment somewhere. I am planning to try it and will buy this colour. Hope it suits.
Yes, Nars foundations are some of my favorites! It does look lovely on the skin and yes I am a powder lover so I do set my foundations lightly even though I have dry skin! Thank you for sharing this demo!
Was feeling a little down because one of my favs on RU-vid recently dissed this foundation and it’s one of my favorites. To be fair she said it “wasn’t for me” and I get that everyone can’t like everything I like 😄 Still, I am so pleased to see another professional give it a thumbs up and thanks, as well, for the “Keeping it real” bonus at the end.
I'm glad you mentioned you use blush on lighter tones instead of bronzer. I wear the shade Mont Blanc in the sheer glow, basically white. I have tried and tried contour, bronzer and blush and end up looking like I have mud on my face. Not everyone is golden bronze. Thank you!!
Hello Wayne, nice to meet you. Am going to a family Wedding in about 10 days and haven’t worn a full face of make up for years. I am now 58. I threw out all my old make up a few years ago so now I have all new stuff. Just need to know how to apply it properly and that’s how I found you. Thank you for all the videos and very useful tips. Since I discovered Nars a couple of years ago it has become my favourite brand for foundation, primer and powder... and not to forget blush....Orgasm is always the right colour.
Great video! I've been using the new Nars light reflecting foundation. At 72 I have started getting those loose wrinkles right between the orbital bone and peak of the cheekbone. Haaate it!! Yes, it's a "pisser" (🤣 you cracked me up with that one!) at how much older I look when foundation and blush (especially blush) are applied to that area. Just the facts of life. I'm not going to be having a facelift so I'll do what I can to de-emphasize it.
NARS is my only brand. I use the tinted moisturizer as I find foundation's heavy on my skin but I may give this a try for special occasions, thanks for the upload 😊
My eyes goes exactly the same way as you explained. I can never stop my makeup from creasing underneath the eyes, even though I would apply eye cream still no joy. For me all make ups are like this round the eye area which is really really annoying. Love a foundation where this does not happen. Brilliant content as always. Thank you x
I’m 40 and foundations just don’t work the same anymore! Thank you for this!!! Btw on my skin the it your skin but better and the new MUFE foundation have been fabulous on my textured skin… mainly larger pores. Sits beautifully.
Thanks for the heads up Wayne for this foundation. I have recently turned 50 no wrinkles but when I put foundation on it sets in my lines. Used to wear foundation to cover my rosacea red face. Stopped worrying now get on with life xx.
I am so with Ya. Pisser is right! Lol. It just is. I'm growing to accept it and continue to learn what I can. P.s. I wish I had understood some of your application techniques better back in the day because your master class series has finally helped much of it to sink in and while it has made application far more satisfying there is a bit of me disappointed i had not quite got it right when my skin was a few years on the younger side. Perhaps, I wouldn't have appreciated it as much as I do now. Thats what I am going with. Age sometimes brings wisdom 😉 and alot more humor
Thank-you Wayne! I love this foundation! It is one of my favorites for my almost 55 year old skin. I get so many compliments when I wear it. Unfortunately, they discontinued my color, Ceylan. Hopefully there’s another shade close to it. My other new favorite is: Koh Gen Do Aqua Foudation in 213. Love you and your videos! ❤️
At 75 it’s so hard to look good, have always been a makeup lover and try lots of stuff. So so agree about the eye area seems you wake up one morning and suddenly realize consealer is not your friend so I only use a tiny bit of colour corrector and one dot of consealer where I am darkest. NARS sheer glow is coming in the post can’t wait to try it. Thank you for your tips so helpful. Would you recommend going lighter or darker when your natural colour has abandoned you, (happens around 72 ) lol xxx

OMG! The bonus bit! Seriously I needed to hear that!!! Ive been thinking Im screwing something up in my application (and mind ya I watch all your vids). Seriously the under eyes always get accentuated. Its not my application, Im just more “mature”. Sometimes its not the tutorial but the commentary!
Haha Wayne! So true I love Blush too :) It brings so much life to the face 🎉 Actually if I could only two items it would be eyelash curler and blush ( or a lipstick that could double as a blush;) )
So it's a pickle for me. I'm 48 with some pretty strong lines around mu eyes and forehead. I have dry skin but find all foundation for dry skin makes the wrinkles look worse and shinny but the skin like foundation seems to be to drying and shows up the dry areas and leaves flakes. Anyone else with dry skin and winkles that love a foundation that doesn't make the wrinkles more noticeable! Wayne is such a blessing to us! His voice is so calming and reassuring!
hi Wayne!! regarding to what you mention at the end of the vid.... yesss I find that too!!! but i think it is due to concealer... i have pretty dark undereye circles, so my theory is that the darkness of them helps my fine lines get hidden... as soon as i conceal them, even with a skin-like colour, that area seems to age 20 years!
I have been hearing good things about this product. I am 52 and live in FL and still have skin that gets red and oily especially in summer. Matte ends up looking cakey and other types make me look more than dewy - so not sure how this would sit. Oh and there is absolutely no way I could put anything over my eyes like that! My eyes end up burning from just about any product used around and on them. I can go about a half day then I have to wash it off!
Absolutely agree, my skin looks older with foundation as well. And it appears not only under my eyes but around my nostrils too. Besides I use a very good foundation which is intended especially for maternal skin. I tried to use a smaller amount but ended up with two tiny drops distributed with a very thin layer on my cheeks. So what the point. Probably foundation as a product good for the young people who have pimples.
