Fountain of Youth Water : DIY Potion Bottle : Potion Prop : Light Up Potion Bottle

Today I am going to show you how to make a light up, mythological potion prop of Fountain of Youth Water. I loosely based this design off of the fact that the Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon's quest to find the "waters of immortality" in the early 16th century led him to St. Augustine Florida. This potion prop has blue mica powder that takes this potion from clear water to a shimmery swirling blue water; that just may have the power to turn back time. This will be a great addition to our Potion, Prop Collection we have been making, or an excellent addition to a Cosplay Costume.
The Things you will need:
• 1 glass Bottle (I got mine at Hobby Lobby)
• 1 Light Up Cork
• Distilled Water and Glycerin; or Rubbing Alcohol
• Black Cording
• Deep Blue Mica Powder
• Scissors
• Silver Chain
• Silver Hourglass Charm (I got mine at Hobby Lobby)
• Label Printed on Sticker Paper

Just a help tip…instead of spreading your jump rings out, if u will push one side forward and pull other side back, it makes it so much easier to close instead of having to balance pinch to shut. And it doesn’t mis shape the ring.

This is so unique! The drawing is spectacular! I’ll have to look for that bottle, and the bottom looks like it has a hollow part so maybe I can put a light underneath it for a darker potion, too. 🤔 Love it, thanks!!

I’ve been making a list of supplies. Fortunately I have almost everything needed from your potions. So far I think I just need glow in the dark glue sticks, and a couple charms like this hourglass one. I found a similar necklace on Temu for $1.50. There are several choices along with other cool necklaces and charm packs! 🏴‍☠️ Thanks for all your inspiration!

No, you could use either. The only reason I decided to do distilled water with this one was because I used a regular cork instead of a rubber one. Which, if you want to use alcohol, you could either use a rubber cork or just seal your cork. Plus it’s fountain of youth water, so I felt like I should use water with this one. 😊

Hi CC and C! I was juat wondering what type of printer you use to print your labels on sticker paper?

I use 2 different ones, but most are printed on my Epson Ecotank printer you just have to change all of the settings to be best quality in the actual printer settings and in whatever program you’re printing. The other printer I sometimes use is an HP laser jet printer.

Oh no! Maybe they ran out! It wasn’t with the regular glass bottles it was on an end cap by candle holders, frames, etc. hopefully that helps!

I hope that helps! 😊

I love your profile!! I'm going to Hobby Lobby to make a bunch of potions. Do you find that over time any of the liquids in the bottle evaporate? Do you have a preferred liquid to use? (alcohol/glycerin?)

They both work well and you get little to no evaporation as long as it’s not in a hot or sunny area. I do feel like alcohol can swirl better than the distilled water w/ glycerin; but it’s a very slight difference.

No it’s just an alternative in case you can’t get rubbing alcohol. Especially in the height of Covid, rubbing alcohol was hard to find.
