There’s another layer to it, Dillinger was famed to have a large penis. No, seriously. After he was shot down, his naked body was on display for a couple of days where the public could walk past in a line. Apparently a bunch of people went through to see if the rumors were true. Anyway, due to what they’re talking about in that scene, Lupin mocking Jigen for not wanting to go to a nudist beach, I’m pretty sure that’s the joke happening in his “resemblance to Dillinger”.
What's interesting is that in the original Japanese version Jigen hang up because he was disgusted that Lupin was about marry a man. The dub made the scene sound less problematic.
@@nooneinparticular5256 implying that you have to worship women to get laid or getting laid is all that people think about, besides you and those like you, maybe you think women are perfect or something? Or that you have to do anything you can to be with some narcissist and you'll completely debase yourself for it
@@galaxy_kitten95 Well, he isn’t anything like that with Fujiko… and who can blame him, honestly..? Also that is entirely legitimate. I too respect people based on the way they behave towards me, so yes. Understandable! ^^
@@deadturret4049Speaking of outtakes, I can't be the only one who thinks that Tony Oliver's infamous lines of "What if it's code for I wanna be spanked by a skinhead or something" and "Why don't you read the intrails of a deformed cat fetus while you're at it" were actually written by a scriptwriter. I honestly feel like those were out of pocket outtakes that got a pass. As such - I call BS because Mr. Epcar should get to say "fuck" at least once like Ryuji did in Persona 5 Strikers. 😆
@@ianfinrir8724 Nah. He's just upset that Lupin was "hiding" it. Jigen is implied to be gay himself in the Japanese script which is one of the many reasons why he is disgusted with Lupin's obsession with Fujiko.
@@kylepessell1350 wait..is that fr? Where can I get the aprroved information about Jigen's orientation? That's kinda intresting to see gay representation(??) in an old show (Sorry for my english btw. I just hope u can get what I'm talking about)
@@i_must_admit_im_a_fangirl_6034 it was a really niche youtube channel so I don't remember. But I remember seeing a clip on youtube a couple years back of him saying something similar. Just type "Richard Epcar's favorite rolls" or "Richard Epcar how he got to play Jigen"
every time i see one of these compilations im like WHY does no one include "are we too career oriented??" it's one of the FUNNIEST moments in the show thank you so much for including it!!
Maybe we’re just starved for fictional teams who actually act like friends but those two chatting about their personal lives is the most endearing thing in the world
@@KitKat_293 it's fantastic. i think it's great the same way that all those instant ramen cups in castle of cagliostro are great. we get to see their amazing adventures, and then we see those adventures juxtaposed with the humdrum and the banal. it's both funny and makes them weirdly real-feeling
I like how part 2 skirted the line of goemon being a samurai but in the 20th Century so perfectly. He is as traditional and wise as they come, but does not completely live in the past. I don’t think the later media did that as well as part II…
@@AndorRadnai Part V literally makes him incompetent with phones. Probably the only thing I hate about recent Goemon incarnations is how he DOESNT UNDERSTAND TECHNOLOGY.
Jigen: "I mean, I know your family has been Shinto for like 10 generations-" Goemon: "longer. . ." Jigan continues unphased"-but that doesn't mean crap to a Vampire" It's lines and delivery like these that make this dub absolute gold
3:27 Jigen is referring to John Dillinger a notorious bank thief back during the Great Depression, robbing over 20 banks in his career, making himself the most known bank robber and thief in America (besides Bonnie and Clyde) during his reign, he also was arrested and sent to prison only to escape not once but twice
@@ianfinrir8724 Jigen's outtake checks out: apparently he was supposed to brag about his """""fourteen-inch donkey dick""""" at first before the line was altered.
I love all the little text flourishes! Also I'm so used to that one blooper clip I thought at 3:26 Jigen was gonna tall about his resemblance to a donkey instead. Ha!
Jigen to me has always been my most favorite character in the show and probably my #1 favorite gun man of all anime. His personality and design is something u just cannot possibly resist
My favorites include: “Not that it doesn’t look absolutely STUNNING on you, but it does take a certain androgynous quality.” And the end line: “That means women.”
3:24 - What's funny is that the final clip compares Jigen to John Dillinger, a gangster known for the intimidating size of his "below the belt" area. To make things funnier, an outtake had Jigen state that he has, and I quote: "I have a fourteen-inch donkey dick, and don't you forget it!" All in all, no matter if it's the outtake or the final, Jigen is still bragging about his size.
3:00 Jigen: "What's so great about the United States?" Monika: "The freedom there!" Jigen: "Yeah, if you can afford it that is." Monika: "Jazz, disco, and musical theaters and all the fashion from everywhere. America has everything!" Jigen: "Gangs, drugs, violence... Yeah, they got a lot of everything there." Jigen was a realist and ahead of his time; for real😂
In the JP dub of part 2’s kabuki special, jigen uses a word that translates into “women hater” but in Japanese it’s synonymous to gay people. In the English dub Epcot says “my reputation for misogyny is legendary!” Some gay undertones there Jigen 😳
pretty sure it becomes like that because people are generally too stupid to figure out it does not represent sexuality. Westerners get it wrong too. Jigen falls in love with women quite a bit.
